Well, kind of![break][break]
Luka winces as she looks up, noting with some satisfaction that the robot seems to have been temporarily disabled. She feels a little bad that they’ve all ganged up on it like this…but then again, what else were they supposed to do?[break][break]
Of course, there’s no time to ruminate on this. After all, who knows what other tricks the Iron Bundle might have up it’s sleeve- or in it’s sack, more appropriately. ”You’re right,” she agrees with schuyler tate, picking herself off the ground with a groan, ”We’re almost there! W-we can’t let up now!”[break][break]
Her back and arms, where she’d received the brunt of the damage, ache as she cradles her Togepi in her arms. It’s rendering her functionally useless, and unfortunately, the residual damage from Sugar’s light of ruin has left her unable to keep fighting. Luka recalls her hastily, which leaves her in quite the predicament. She doesn’t want to toss Toffee back into the fray, but her only other Pokémon is off chasing the runaway train![break][break]
Perhaps sensing his trainer’s dilemma, or perhaps simply wanting to cause a little trouble on purpose, Toffee responds the best way he can. His little arms wiggle as he performs another metronome on the Iron Bundle, leaving both his and the robot’s fate up to random chance.[break][break]
Meanwhile, Bonbon skates ahead with robin coello’s Gengar. Using the snow to her advantage, the rabbit performs a triple axel to outrun the train and deliver a few poignant kicks to the train’s engine, hoping to stop it for good.[break][break]

even after the iron bundle broke free of the ball, its damage was clear. the cubone coalition was prevailing. boomer balled a tiny fist and bared the early face of triumph, holding his bone high in the air, a glorious threat to be reckoned with. a look of comradery flashed over his shoulder at trinity beckman ’s pokemon. ’cubone!’[break][break]

”good shit, boomer!” roach hollered, and his gaze shot in a similar direction at trinity. his hair was still frozen straight back, defying gravity. ”and good thinkin’!”[break][break]

it seemed that they were nearly there, now, finally, after all the terror and damage. as the malfunctioning iron bundle took a moment to recover at the center of its devastation on the festivities, a similar thought occurred to roach as the one that occurred to robin coello :[break][break]

”where the hell’s the league when ya actually need ‘em?” they were right around the corner, ready to be up his ass at the first smell of trouble any other time. alas, no sirens filled the air. only the sound of an earthquake, and the eerie, shockwave-summoning roar of one of those strange distortion zoroark. they were not done yet.[break][break]

roach tried to keep his footing on shaky ground as his cubone charged in to retaliate, powered by schuyler tate ’s ditto-bundle’s sacrifice.[break][break]

As the violent Iron Bundle was still reeling from the after-effects of the Z-Move, it was completely defenseless. So, finally, it was time to put the pedal to the metal. This called for an all-out attack!

And that began with schuyler tate's Pangoro. Stomping forth, the hulking bear landed a powerful Hammer Arm right on the chest of the Paradox Pokemon. Under such force, his torso practically crumpled, as though the panda was crushing an empty tin can. As it was sent stumbling back, it found itself unable to defend from robin coello's Snorlax, who delivered an earth-shaking Earthquake that caused it to lose what little balance it had left. Tumbling across the ground, it was then struck by the overwhelming volume of trinity beckman's Zoroark, hit by a Hyper Voice so loud that it was send flying into the air.

But even still, it was not done. virgil roach's Cubone leapt up, landing a Retaliation upon the full metal penguin and sending it crash back to the ground. Then, finally, luka chêne's Togepi called upon the power of Metronome, and the result? Outrage, a rush of draconic energy that crashed into the Iron Bundle, the cherry on top of this cake of beatings.

It was broken, plain and simple. Its metal carapace had shattered under the pressure, and the endoskeleton beneath was reduced to a wreak. And yet, despite everything, the sparking mess of a robot clambered back to its feet. However, that was as far as it could go. Whatever hydraulics allowed this creature to move, they would carry it no further. Whatever engine kept it going, could not match its fighting spirit. All it could do was extend a ruined flipper forward, beckoning its foes forward.

A challenge: Give this indomitable warrior a worthy end.

Finally. The iron bundle had lost enough momentum after the failed z-move to give them the opportunity to wallop it. The iron bundle was merely scrap, and yet, the indomitable spirit of the icy menace left it standing. She had to admit, she was oddly inspired by its persistence. Ever still, she had a job to do. This wasn't over til the iron bundle was done for, given how much chaos it had brought to the area.

"With all you've got," she instructed her pokemon, leaving each to his own devices. Gengar chose shadow pulse and Snorlax chose hammer arm to strike the iron bundle with, both attacking almost synchronously, though Snorlax was so tired from the battling that his attack fell a few seconds behind Gengar's. "Let this be over," She uttered as her eyes fell closed, exhausted from the cold and combat and chaos.

With all of their teamwork put together, it seemed the Iron Bundle was on its last leg. His Pangoro seemed eager to put the bird down, but certainly not as eager as the fellow civilians caught in the crossfire. With a nod to his Pangoro, the creature giving a roar that channeled its frustration. Like its trainer, the pokemon found the bird irksome, and the fact it had managed to survive this long and cause this much damage had put quite the damper on a nice day out.

Like a flickering candlelight, it was ready for them to blow out this Iron Bundle. The Pangoro slid across the ice, unfortunately lacking the grace of a skater and steadied its aim before it dealt a blow to the skeletal robotic form of the mischief making creature. With careful precision, the Pangoro fired a PARTING SHOT at the Iron Bundle, hoping that it would hit its mark.

After a heaved sigh, Schuyler finally turned to virgil roach to give an exhausted laugh. Given the circumstances, he felt it wouldn't hurt to tell a little white lie. These people didn't have to know his actual name. It was easier that way.

"Right," he insisted. "Don't think any of us had the luxury to exchange names. Name's Finn."

The carnival was quiet. Truly quiet, before the cheers of victory resounded around the wreckage. The cowboy virgil roach ‘s Cubone hoisted its club into the air and looked towards Trinity's own Ground type as it let out a prideful cry. Usually shy, the girl’s Cubone matched the energy of the other, resulting in Trinity glazing down at her little Pokemon. Her Cubone visibly blushed and looked away, digging the tips of its toes into the dirt. The blue haired Rocket simply let out a held breath and rubbed her Pokemon’s head, dissolving any feelings of embarrassment its outburst might’ve caused. The Rocket member paid it no mind and turned her attention back to what remained of the battle.

[break][break] The Iron Bundle was back on its feet, even going so far as to issue them another challenge. As if asking for them to give it an honorable death. Trinity couldn’t help but tilt her head, simply looking at the Paradox Pokemon with a mixture of confusion and wonder. Wherever, and whenever, these robotic Pokemon came from one thing was for certain: attempting to make sense of them was truly a mystery. It was not a mystery that the girl would leave unsolved. Not if she could help it.

[break][break] One last shot. Trinity clenched her fist as she waited for the other members of their ragtag group to get their licks against the Iron Bundle. She slipped another PokeBall from her pouch and into her palm, steeling herself to wait for the right moment. For Team Rocket, and for herself and her thirst for knowledge and power, once the onslaught of attacks was done, the blue haired Rocket would throw her last PokeBall at the Iron Bundle, hoping to bring some form of treasure to her organization for her troubles today.

Anything could have happened with that metronome, but Outrage is one of the most absurd.[break][break]
Luka makes a grab for Toffee as he charges out of her arms and flails towards the Iron Bundle at speeds she didn’t think he was capable of. That powerful blow, combined with all the help of their fellows, is finally enough to bring down the chunk of metal that had been tormenting them for so long.[break][break]
However, upon looking at the sorry hunk of machinery, she can’t help but feel a little bad. The very definition of overkill is right there in front of them, after all. Her fellows seem to have no problem with this, some even going so far as to deliver even more vengeance, but Luka can’t bring herself to do it.[break][break]
Instead, even while knowing it probably won’t do much good, Luka gets her Togepi to calm down from his toddler rage by humming his favorite lullaby. Once the baby is sufficiently placated, she whispers a soft, ”Life dew, please!”[break][break]
She’s trying to be discrete so the others don’t catch on, but once the robot is sprinkled with some healing water, the jig is up. Luka giggles nervously and steps back, and she also seems to have forgotten what might happen when you douse live circuits and crackling electricity with water…[break][break]
”I just…feel kind of bad for it,” she explains meekly. ”We never managed to figure out why it was upset, after all…”[break][break]
Her fingers toy with the sleeves of her oversized sweater. Perhaps there’s no use worrying about it— there’s little she can do about it now anyways. Maybe she should just rest up with the others and get a drink…though the previously festive atmosphere is making her crave milk and cookies rather than something highly spirited.[break][break]
”B-but anyways, um. I’m Luka! Thanks for all of your help, really. It’s so nice of you…a-and if it’s okay, um…can I tag along for that drink too?”[break][break]

And so, the last attacks in the battle between man and machine are thrown.

robin coello’s Gengar fires forth a Dark Pulse that causes the unsteady Bundle to stagger back, while her Snorlax lands a Hammer Arm that smashes it down into the ground. That’s followed up by a Headbutt from virgil roach’s Cubone, which clatters the downed Paradox Pokemon. Then, finally, schuyler tate’s Pangoro lands one last Parting Shot, the final blow.

But, it is not a lethal one. No, thanks to the intervention of luka chêne and her Togepi, a Life Dew comes down to mend the Iron Bundle. Thus, thanks to this mostly timely intervention, the mechanical menace is spared.

But, is that really a wise idea? After all, this is a violent and brutal menace. It can’t be allowed to go free, can it? It would simply cause more chaos! So then, what were they supposed to do with it?

trinity beckman certainly had one idea, as she threw a second Pokeball at the stunned Paradox Pokemon, which was consumed in a flash of red and dragged inside the capture device.

One shake…

Two shakes…

Three shakes…?

…

...Well, regardless of the outcome of that particular catch attempt, the fact remained that in the bigger picture, the Iron Bundle had been neutralised. At last, after many trials and tribulations, they had done it. They had saved Christmas!
