All for her? She doubted that, but he seemed to believe himself well enough. The sight of his injured leg against the mahogany table reminded her of the cost of his pride, and she wondered what injury his hubris would earn next.[break][break]

"Either works," she said as she got up to rummage through his cabinets. Having something to do was ideal, even if it was just stalling uncomfortable conversation to search for alcohol.[break][break]

If she had any doubts that Eva Morales no longer lived here, this little venture soon erased them completely from her mind.[break][break]

It was already difficult to imagine MATIAS SILPH cooking; it was now impossible for Elisabeth to picture it after seeing the state of his kitchen. What food he had seemed well past its expiration date, and basic things such as pots, pans, spices, and the like all were glaringly absent from his storage.[break][break]

Fortunately, or perhaps concerningly, his stores of alcohol faced no such predicament.[break][break]

"You've gotten used to living like a bachelor again, I see," she commented aloud, amusement and judgment alike sitting in that observation as she reached for a drink. "What do you mix with your vodka, usually?"[break][break]

Her eyes flitted to the other side of the cabinet, and she let out a soft 'aha' as she pulled out a dusty bottle of Kalosian wine buried in the back. She turned to him with both bottles in hand, lifting them for his inspection.[break][break]

Eva Morales had done most (all) of the grocery shopping when they were together. his lifestyle hasn't changed much from when he was in kanto, used to living off rations and whatever food he could find in the wild.[break][break]

it's why, even now, this ranch looks barely lived in. it would have looked a lot less had it not been for weeks of house arrest a few months ago.[break][break]

"Drinking vodka like that will get you drunk in no time," she scolded him lightly, but there wasn't much else to find. No tonic water, certainly, but no surprise there.[break][break]

Oh, well. It wasn't her job to make him live properly, she reminded herself.[break][break]

She threw together some ice cubes in a glass, sighing a little at what a waste it was, before she made her way back into the living area.[break][break]

"Here," she said, pushing the glass of vodka into his hand as she placed the remaining bottle of it on the nearby side table.[break][break]

The wine she kept for herself, uncorking it and drinking it straight from the bottle.[break][break]

She'd not found any wine glasses, and he didn't seem like the type to care about formality, she figured.[break][break]

he barks out a laugh that's drowned out with another sip of his drink, finishing off the vodka before reaching for the bottle on the table.[break][break]

"fuck no. can you imagine me in a suit that tight? well, maybe you already have, but no."[break][break]

the odd angle and the way he's forced to stretch forward for the bottle has him grunting. he lets out a sigh as he pours, not stopping until it nears the top of the glass.[break][break]
