By coming back to the gorge that led down to the deeper area with the Tera Crystals, the ambassador remembers the chaos in seeing the other leaguers deal with the others fighting against the Rockets. She had gotten out of the battlefield when she could and probably because she didn’t belong there as much as Hoenn’s swords were very much into the combat side of the league. Treating the injured with her friend, the gym leader of Fortree City, felt a bit more natural given that she really promised Navy not to step into fighting.[break][break]

Like all areas she hadn’t charted out, Area Zero’s deeper area with the Tera Crystals for the royal ambassador to study were fraught with danger. Her Mismagius floats by her side while Elise inspects one of the shinier ones. “Thank you for keeping me safe.” She reaches to pat the head of the female ghost while the ghost’s red eyes look out for threats to the ambassador’s safety. “The Paradox Pokemon that we fought there could be still here…” [break][break]

There was the worry that they could run into one of the surviving Paradox Swords of Justice when she and her Mismagius were researching the Tera Crystals together.

Many were saying that it was the largest tera cave in Hoenn, but Nomi had a different theory. The tera caverns that had sprung up around the region weren't isolated events, one-off anomalies born out of individual, unrelated disasters. This newly formed, massive gaping maw ripped open by the devastation of Kyurem wasn't just another glittering, ethereal chamber of possibility set apart from the rest.[break][break]
It was a portal into another realm: the vast, interconnected network of tera crystals that spanned the entirety of Hoenn. They were all related, and Nomi suspected it would be possible - with a great deal of effort and escavation - to traverse from one to the next underground.[break][break]
Most fascinating, however, was the fact that it seemed to be a living system. The crystals were spreading, like a beautiful infection chewing through Hoenn from the inside. If they didn't act quickly to understand the nature of this new disease, there would be far worse consequences than the awakening of the abominations within the deep.[break][break]
The paradoxes were only the beginning.[break][break]
"Take a scan of this area, please," Nomi requested of Kallistatus. The shiny Unown-K bobbed up and down, then turned to regard the thick nest of crystals before them. On Nomi's left and right, an Unown-D and Unown-F floated dutifully, alphabetic sentinels waiting for their own commands.[break][break]
Except, something seemed to catch the Unown-F's attention. It turned, drifting away to the right, which caused Nomi to follow it with her gaze.[break][break]
"What is it?" She asked, curious. "Do you sense something?"[break][break]
Thoughts of the DRK Triad prickled in the back of Nomi's mind, and she tensed, readying herself for whatever was out there.

While the diplomat is studying the shining Tera Crystals of a bigger variety and how they were grouped together, the floating witch-like ghost turns around to look for other crystals to study by herself. Yellow eyes look over to a strange looking F-shaped Pokemon with an eye on its front. That was a Pokemon that Mana had not seen before. [break][break]

“I’ll take some notes of them in the area.” A glance over to her Mismagius when she takes out her smartphone has the Galarian royal give her ghost a confused look. “What are you doing? I thought you were-” The floating black Pokemon is a curious sight that the ambassador hasn’t seen before and its strange looking appearance would be accompanied by a nearby woman in a hiking outfit that was there too.[break][break]

“Oh, I’m very sorry if we were in your way.” Elise politely apologizes to the other woman if she was there to look at the crystals too before she’ll move slightly off to the side. “My Mismagius also seems to have taken a bit of interest in that F-shaped Pokemon. Is it yours?”

It wasn't the DRK Triad after all. It was just a regular woman, though she had a somewhat...regal air about her. Sleek purple hair, attire that was more sophisticated than it was practical, and the sort of mannerisms that hinted at an expertise in etiquette.[break][break]
Nomi couldn't decide if she was relived or disappointed. Either way, she was curious.[break][break]
"You aren't in my way," Nomi assured the woman, approaching from behind the Unown-F. The symbol Pokemon continued drifting ahead, orbiting the woman like a miniature moon. Nomi smiled, amused.[break][break]
"It likes you," she noted.[break][break]
Nomi surveyed the area, noticing the especially large cluster of Tera crystals the woman had clearly been studying.[break][break]
"Are you here to research the cave system too?" She asked.

Luckily, the other woman says that Elise wasn’t in the way of studying the crystals around Area Zero. The F-shaped symbol-like Pokemon orbits around the Galarian royal as if the Pokemon itself was curious of her. She definitely had not seen it around, probably because it in itself was a more elusive species that didn’t get much study.[break][break]

“I had never seen a Pokemon like it before.” The royal ambassador states while the small F-shaped Pokemon kept orbiting around her like Elise was a miniature sun. “It certainly looks very cute when it likes me.” [break][break]

This strange looking Pokemon did have a lot of personality than she would've thought. That made it a lot more endearing to see.[break][break]

“Oh yes, I came here to research the cave system as well.” She nods to the woman’s question. “I am very interested in the Tera Crystals and how they formed here.”[break][break]

"They are called Unown," Nomi explained, resting a hand atop one of the larger Tera crystals. Despite the cool, damp air within the cave, the crystal was warm to the touch - as if storing energy deep within its core. "Relatively rare, but only because they are rather elusive."[break][break]
She smiled when the Unown-F was referred to as "cute."[break][break]
"I think so too," she agreed.[break][break]
Nomi cocked her head curiously as the woman continued speaking. Another researcher? Was she a League scientist, then? Perhaps working with the likes of Eva Morales or illeana reyes?[break][break]
"My name's Naomi Sato," Nomi introduced, leaning on her civilian persona. "PhD candidate with Slateport University, specializing in bioengineering." She held out her hand to the woman, who's entire demeanor was elegant enough to warrant a measure of propriety. "But you can call me Nomi, if you'd like. Most do."[break][break]
She hesitated, then added - "Are you here with any specific organization, or...?"

Elise hasn’t seen Unown before and apparently, they were rather elusive to let people get closer to research them. The witch ghost that floats beside the diplomat doesn’t think the F-shaped Unown would be a threat, but she does think the smaller psychic type Pokemon was rather adorable too. She swears that she could see one of the Tera Crystals, small in size, gleam in the small light that comes to Area Zero. [break][break]

“It is a pleasure to meet you, Nomi.” She’d give a warm smile when the university student gives her name. “My name is Elise Calcifet and it’s a coincidence that I am also a student at Slateport’s university.” Though she had missed a few classes due to situations that were out of her control, the professors had understood that sometimes, she did need to balance it with her full time job as a diplomat now.[break][break]

As Nomi asks if Elise is here with any specific organization, the ambassador replies with a small shake of her head. “I work for my country’s affairs, so I don’t think I really am here on the job of a specific organization. The Tera Crystals did interest me, that I will be honest about.”

Nomi's expression darkened for just a moment before she schooled it back to a pleasant neutrality. She knew that name: it was plastered across the Rocket hit list. Remiel Calcifet's defection was still a fresh wound for Rocket; Nomi knew the value in letting the Zekrom Avatar live, but many of her peers would rather kill him on sight than ally with him against a common threat.[break][break]
So, this was his...sibling? Cousin?[break][break]
"Ah, so you're a member of the Galarian royal family, then?" Nomi asked, feigning some measure of innocence. "It is an honor to meet you. It's not every day one has the pleasure of speaking with a real life princess."[break][break]
She bowed her head in respect. Was that how they did it in Galar? Her own Johtonian habits were hard to break.[break][break]
"What are you studying at the university? It's impressive you have the time for both school and what I suspect are quite a bit of diplomatic obligations..."[break][break]

Most people that she had met with never did a bow for her, but maybe they were less than inclined to. The ambassador was a foreigner to Hoenn, someone that had titles which didn’t matter. Her cousin surely had told people not to bow to him too, he appeared to be at ease in Hoenn than in Galar. [break][break]

“Well, I am a Galarian royal expatriate in Hoenn, so I’ll have to get used to living here.” She replies with a small nod towards the other woman. “My cousin has lived here for a long while and I envy that he’s used to it.”[break][break]

Remiel himself would know more of Hoenn’s cities and towns when he was Galar’s ambassador. The prince would’ve made his own mother upset that he wasn’t there in Galar to take the throne for her. Maybe the Queen will wait a little longer for her dear son to come home.[break][break]

“The subject I am studying for is anthropology. It’s also what I’m majoring for.” Elise gives her reply to Nomi’s question just as the F-shaped Unown begins to circle around the royal some more in an excited fashion. “And it’s a little closer to what my cousin is doing his research in archaeology.”

She'd read his file at least ten times, but there were valuable tidbits to be learned from the personal opinions of family members. A strange and unexpected opportunity had now presented itself to Nomi: a means of finding out more about Remiel Calcifet, from someone who, in all likelihood, knew him better than most. Rocket might benefit from that sort of information.[break][break]
"Anthropology is a fascinating subject," Nomi continued. This was not, in fact, a lie. She really did find anthropologists rather interesting. It was a very different sort of science than her own field of expertise. And, as Elise had alluded to, archeology and anthropology were two sides of the same coin: both relied upon learnings from the past, in order to better understand the present - and, perhaps, predict aspects of the future.[break][break]
"What got you interested in that? Is there something specific you're hoping to discover or learn?"
