The expansive jungle stretched as far as the eye could see, an intricate canvas of nature's mysteries. Waterfalls, like liquid silver, tumbled out from lofty rocky cliffsides, their cascading torrents creating a constant symphony of soothing roars that reverberated through the lush bundles of greenery. Compared to all of this, ollie morales and PENELOPE LIVY were only two specs.

Two members of the league led only by their curiosity and duty to explore the innerworkings of this unknown labyrinth of vines and danger.

"Sometimes I wonder if this is a waste of time," the councilwoman sighed, her hands raised to slick back her hair into a new ponytail. The babyhairs were getting to be annoying, worse than the thick smell of mud. "Like if it wasn't for Rocket, this could be a simple recon mission for some rangers to handle."

As a world traveler, this was something that he enjoyed deeply — his wanderlust knew no bounds, not even within Hoenn, so it hadn't been difficult at all to get him to join in on the excursion. Not that he would've said no anyway; it was PENELOPE LIVY. Of course he would tag along.

[break][break] "Yeah," the Head Ranger said, gazing at the expansive stretch of horizon before them. A shadow flickers above them as Pistachio flies above them alongside her Talonflame, trying to get a bird's eye view of their surroundings. "But at least it gives us something to do, yeah?"

[break][break] His lips dimple into a smile.

[break][break] Though there had been plenty to do, especially after the events of the Kyurem fight, Ollie was happy to have an excuse to spend some time with her. Now fully recovered, he could push his attention back towards PENELOPE LIVY. His concern. A lot had happened during that raid that he still hadn't had the chance to ask her about. Maybe now that they were together - alone - he could finally ask.

Trigger pants in the thick jungle air. Her powerful claws and durable hind legs were built for this type of environment.[break][break]

Tempest clicks his tongue from her back, pulling the Kommo-o's reins to slow her down a bit. The supplies strapped to her sides were delicate and she was getting too excited.[break][break]

"How far away is the camp, again?" Is muttered to Cillian Quinn. A thick copse of vines is sliced by Trigger's claws for them to pass through.[break][break]

This felt almost like bit work. The dull throb of his burns and the tightness of the bandage on his left arm reminded Tempest of that with. Something that was more suited to Grunts than a Beast and Underboss.[break][break]

But the equipment needed for this particular camp was expensive and sensitive.[break][break]

Flicking his eyes over, Tempest was also glad for a chance to check up on his husband.[break][break]

These types of confrontations and scrambling for land were always the hardest on him.

Cillian was ill at ease on the ground, beneath the thick canopy of trees. He'd much rather be out in the open, soaring on Lugia's back, feeling protected from whatever dangers this hostile landscape might pose. He shows none of this fear, but Tempest Quinn still looks back to check on him. His gaze softens for but a moment before it hardens back into the mask of Underboss Quinn.[break][break]

"Shouldn't be far, now."[break][break]

Indeed, the trees seem to be thinning out, suggesting a naturally open space somewhere ahead.[break][break]

He spots the Talonflame, first, though it's too quick for him to identify it as such. He sees only a flash of red-gold plumage, but it's enough to put him on high alert. The Lycanroc at his side snarls, LASHING OUT at a last barrier of vines.[break][break]

But, this time, it would be PENELOPE LIVY and ollie morales to have the element of surprise.[break][break]
