Lydia typically admired strong women. As a military recruit, it’d been mentorship from similar figures that kept her going, until her body could not do so anymore. So, it should be no surprise she once enjoyed the Tinkaton line. They represented the power of female ingenuity. But an incident last fall had soured her perception. A boulder from one of them had brought down a Corviknight Taxi she’d been napping in. Only quick thinking from her then Riolu saved her from meeting a gruesome end. [break][break]

Now, staring at the pink menaces, the veteran’s lips pressed into a thin line. She could see the manic energy in their eyes. In others, those still fighting the influence of the chain, there was a sense of guilt. Glancing at her teammates—a Kingdra and a gaunt Iron Crown—Lydia was quick to assemble a plan. Ahead of them was a gang of hammer-swinging valkyries. Each of them had fixed their eyes on her. “Triton! Hold them in place. Twister!” [break][break]

The Kingdra obeyed with a stoic nod. Vicious, nasty wings began to buffet at the fairy-types. The hammers in their hands began to strain at their leads like overly eager dogs. Blue eyes flickered to her Iron Crown as she stepped forward. Much like her Iron Valiant, her battling had earned his respect, if not his obedience. “Use Smart Strike on the chains.” Not as susceptible as the flesh-and-blood fairy types, Gatien charged eagerly into the storm. His horn flashed as steel bit deep into poison. SCHINK! Three hammers dropped to the tunnel’s floor. “Good job, soldier.” Lydia praised from the sidelines. Disoriented, the freed Tinkaton milled in circles. Their eyes, almost teary, stared down at the mockery someone had made of their hammer.

When Mei Liu originally mentioned that she was venturing into the new Area Zero on some business for Team Rocket, Yumi had no intention of following her there. She was busy setting up her new restaurant in Slateport City, after all. [break][break]

But eventually, curiosity got the best of Yumi, and she soon found herself traversing the Tera crystal-studded tunnels of the subterranean maze. [break][break]

A terrible ruckus from around a bend drew the woman's attention. She gestured for her shiny Delphox, Yuuyake, to go ahead. [break][break]

The sight that greeted them was not what Yumi had expected at all. Purple, chain-like growths protruded grotesquely from the hammers of several Tinkaton that were in the midst of brutalizing some humans. [break][break]

Humans wearing the red "R" patch of Team Rocket. [break][break]

"Help scare off those Tinkaton, Yuuyake!" Yumi hissed. Her Delphox glided forward, wielding his wand. A FLAMETHROWER burst forth, engulfing the hostile Pokémon and forcing them to flee. [break][break]

It begins at the tip of his manes, crystalline fractals growing like a sheen of frost. A sudden takeover that makes her freeze up in her attempt to process it; A sickness but simultaneously a burst of power that enables Reiner to charge on forwards.[break][break]

For her sake, he burns bright like a shooting star.

more days than not that month she’d been in area zero. she was there at a station, fetching a refill of coffee when the alert was delivered: a swarm of tinkaton would be the latest wave from hoenn’s mysterious toxic foe.[break][break]

when she stepped out, the chasm’s echoes were wilder than usual. it did not take long to find what they were hunting for.[break][break]

tera crystals sparkled with pink and purple reflections. they dove in with chained hammers swinging.[break][break]

”inferno!” she commanded gorgo, the houndoom that accompanied her. before the flames came, however, the dog glimmered orange and red, terastallizing even without a shard of its own.

the phenomenon no longer surprised lulu. she was focused, her attention instead on a waving leaf of ivy that soon crinkled and burned away.[break][break]
