How did Hailee manage to find herself back in this exact predicament again? Like literally, the odds of being here, in a desert, fighting some godsforsaken primordial beast once again. It was uncanny to say the least. Not to mention her company, not that there was anything wrong with the girls by any means but...they seemed like kids.[break][break]

Even that was similar to her past excursions into the wilds. It was almost laughable except for the fact that Hailee found herself severely ill-prepared. Just her luck. It had been over a year since she was last in Hoenn and without even months of being back she was already being thrust into Hoenn's good 'ol oddities.[break][break]

Raijin sat atop Hailee's head trying his best to put on a brave face. Come rain or shine, he was always around whenever she was in a pickle. But they both were aware that he wasn't exactly the best when it came to dire situations such as these. A soft sigh escaped the seasoned Ranger's lips as she gently gave his head a reassuring pat.[break][break]

"Right," she breathed. "Should worst come to worst you guys should prioritize your safety first. I can do my best to buy you all time." That's what she should be doing, after all these kids had families to get back to.

The desert was the one type of biome that Thea had absolutely zero experience with. She was usually the type that liked to wander away whenever she had free time, but for most of part, she has always been in lively places, with a lot of greens and water. A desert was the opposite of that, a huge contrast, one could say. She even avoided bringing all of her Pokémons, deciding to bring Gominha instead, with Navy's words echoing in her mind: 'If you could only grab one Pokémon in a pinch, which one would be?'[break][break]

She felt bad about the others when making this decision, but now that she was suffering from the heat, she actually felt bad for Gominha for bringing her. "Hanging in there?" She asked to the Wigglytuff, and she chirped annoyed, seeming more worried about her fur being attacked by sand than by the heat itself. "... You are sure a tough one..." Thea chuckled, grabbing her shirt's collar and shaking it a few times, trying to refresh herself before peeking at Hailee Jacobs .[break][break]

"As if! We all need to prioritize it. I won't leave you behind to buy time." She smiled a bit, then looking at Cassandra Kubrick .[break][break]

Alison stood in the heat of the desert with a flat expression. Arms crossed over her chest, and hair twice its size and frizzy from the humidity, she side-eyed her companions with uncertainty. What on earth had she got herself into?

It was one thing to go exploring in a desert of all places, but now to be head-to-head with a potentially powerful and ancient Pokémon – with strangers? She would be questioning her decisions after this for many weeks if she got back alive.

If she got back alive.

For now, she just needed to focus on the issue at hand.

At Cassandra’s words, she straightened and gave her Ninetales a quick raise of her eyebrows. A silent question. Are you ready? He ruffled his tails nervously in response.

“You don’t have to ask me twice,” Alison responded, giving Hailee a lazy smile. A light joke to ease the tension, albeit truthful.

Releasing a breath, Alison anticipated the beast’s arrival.

Cass grins at Gominha's annoyance, leaning down to brush some sand out of her hair, "We'll give you another good spa day after this, promise. Sorry to drag you in here." Ill-advised, but that's truly just her middle name, and it's only gotten worse recently.

She nods at Hailee's words, silently in agreement with Alison, but gives Thea's words a more affirmative nod. "We'll manage!" What they'll manage, who knows.

"Ah so it's Dynamax'ed-" Cass murmurs as they face off against the giant Claydol, shielding her face from the sand that it kicks up. "We need to break that barrier-!" she shouts over the sand, taking a step back as Jon hangs around, resilient. "Gunk Shot!" Before going here, he's gotten quite the feast from a belated spring clean-up and a nearby dumpster.

It's not pretty as he grabs some filthy garbage, but he hurls it with force at the Claydol.
