[attr="class","aurelie"] [attr="class","aurelie_lyrics"]All battles are first won or lost, in the mind. [attr="class","aurelie_body"]Aurelie frowned, a faint line forming between her brows as she reviewed what she'd said earlier to the underboss in greeting. Or possibly to Zev, who might have reported a previous conversation to her. No matter how far back she went, though, she couldn't recall asserting that Legendaries were untouchable. "Actually, Madame Underboss, I don't believe Legendaries to be untouchable or immune to harm," she replied as neutrally as she could. "Though I do fear them, of course." Because what sane person doesn't? she wanted to say, but didn't. Her tone taking on a more thoughtful timbre, Aurelie mused, "It does seem like it's easier for Legendaries to fight and hurt each other than for normal Pokemon to hurt one. Like when we saw Chien-Pao fighting against Zamazenta at the Ancient Tomb.
"But that's probably only because they're just stronger. And it doesn't mean it's impossible for normal Pokemon to do the same." The redhead paused then and gulped, wondering if she was talking too much already. She found wordless comfort in looking toward her Tinkaton and seeing the gentle, encouraging smile on the female Pokemon's face. As always, Aurelie felt like they understood each other. Perhaps it was only an illusion, but still, that feeling of affinity stiffened her spine and gave her strength. They would both need as much strength and courage as they could find, even in practice. Aurelie stared at the dense, shimmering soft-pink fog that surrounded the Tapu Fini that Elisabeth had summoned—a dark and delicate-looking sprite very different from the Wo-Chien she had expected and encountered before, and not nearly so menacing at first glance. If anything, it looked rather pretty. Just like the underboss. And probably just as dangerous, Aurelie thought. She clenched her jaw and curled her fists at her sides. "What are your thoughts, Underboss Fiorelli?" she asked, the oddly un-Kalosian-sounding surname tumbling awkwardly off her tongue. "About ordinary Pokemon and Legendaries, I mean. And how they fight each other.
"Or shall we just begin, and start the hands-on learning right now?" She wasn't sure if Elisabeth was more the lecturing type or the practical, applied type when it came to teaching. The underboss was certainly the enigmatic, inscrutable, and intimidating type, though. Aurelie hadn't felt so nervous about learning new things since her first day of undergraduate biomedical engineering class. But I've got a teammate now! she reminded herself. And I probably won't cause her to faint or hate me!
