Route 102 wasn't quite Hideo's territory, but it was close enough for him to be concerned; one more town, and Rocket would be right at his doorstep.

Recovery from Petalburg would have to wait; Hideo had to stop Rocket from making progress; to that end, him and his Pokemon patrolled route 102 for any ne'er-do-wells.

He casually walked along the Route, an Elgyem floating beside him. He had to rely on the Elgyem if anyone they spotted unfamiliar to them; if they were someone they knew, he'd just give a small greeting and pass them by.

If it wasn't someone they knew?

Well, the guy the Elgyem just spotted was about to find out.

"Yo, vibe check!" the boy shouted, pointing straight towards the man.

(The Elgyem telepathically scolded him for using the meme improperly.)

He ran in the man's direction, the boy clearly in tip-top shape as the Elgyem lagged behind him. "Who're you and what're you here for?!"

The Pokeball in his other hand made it clear what'd go down if the wrong answer was given.

Uxie was situated nearby, having borrowed an Illusion from Hideo's Zorua. It was disguised as a decently-sized rock, watching what was about to unfold.

And so far, it was pleased with how things were going; this one seemed to get the personality down mostly right, though perhaps he was too overconfident by leaving the Elgyem behind.

But it'd have to watch the upcoming fight to see how well he fit his role.
