Effigies of the “Loyal” Three had popped up around the city and its outskirts that she is in charge of protecting as its Ranger Captain. Petalburg’s fall from the help of those strange three wardens from the pententiary was a moment that she can’t forget. “Destroy it now.” The ambassador turns to her shard of Calyrex as Psychic breaks the statue of a dog-like creature that stood up on its two legs in one shot.[break][break]

“We cannot have them come back.” She’ll try to make sure that there’s no more statues of the three creatures: monkey, bird, and standing dog. The outskirts of Rustboro appeared to be filled with more of the statues. Those three were on another level of strong, given that they appeared to be legendary Pokemon on par with the Calyrex.[break][break]

If one of those creatures appeared at the city she worked at as Galar’s ambassador, Elise will have to draw them away from where the battle can be on safer ground.

His Pokemon were doing well enough breaking down effigies in and around Littleroot, and they were expanding their efforts to Oldale and the area around it. Which left Hideo with Rustboro and Petalburg to search - and he certainly wasn't going to be visiting Petalburg by himself.]

(Unless the Loyal Three could swim - then that would put Dewford on the list as well.)

So Rustboro was the next town to start investigating - at the insistence of a certain pixie that, for some reason, wouldn't be joining him on the actual search, merely telling him where to look first.

Uxie could be really weird about how much info it gave, but he'd have to work with it.

With his Beheeyem by his side, Hideo made his way through the outskirts of Rustboro - and his attention was taken by the sound of an effigy being broken; it was a sound he was becoming intimately familiar with as of late.

So, someone else was getting in on the action. Time to find out who.

He approached the noise, his Beheeyem immediately pointing out the Calyrex that was present - as well as the person besides the Calyrex, though he already knew who it was.

"Elise?" Hideo asked aloud, to get her attention. "You're looking for the Lousy Three's effigies too, huh? Sounds like you got the same plan for'em that I have."

The voice of the young gym leader calls for the ambassador’s attention. She turns to see the brunette young man and his Beeheyem at his side. “Oh, Mr. Kino?” Elise calls out too, albeit in a subdued, gentle manner. He had taken note that she was doing the same as Hideo would’ve done too. Those effigies were going to be a problem if she can’t get rid of them all.[break][break]

“Yes, I was destroying the effigies as well. The Lousy Three do pose a threat to the city’s safety, so I am helping Mr. Maher by taking care of them.” She’d imagine that Cian would be helping to keep his city safe, he was the gym leader of Rustboro after all. “And I assume the effigies have also appeared in Littleroot? I had hoped that Charles here will match their strength, but my shard is weaker than are…without his true form.”

It felt weird, being referred to as "Mr Kino." It was a title he'd only ever associated with his father.

"Oh, uh, you can just call me Hideo," he said. "It's what most people call me."

All his friends only used his first name. Acquaintances too. Even his Gym Trainers used his first name when they talked to him, and that's how he introduced himself to his challengers. Even his Rotoms did too when they were in a Rotomdex, and he could safely assume the rest of his Pokemon did as well.

"And yeah, those effigies are everywhere. I've been trying to root them out of Littleroot 'cause they might be the key to the Lousy Three coming back. Even been trying to make some guides online for people to use."

He knew as well as anyone that the League only had so much reach, and the Loyal Three could be lurking anywhere. He'd try to stop them even if he wasn't with the League, so he might as well make sure people knew what they were doing - and what retaliation to expect.

"Charles…that's the Calyrex you brought to my challenge." He didn't know too much about Calyrex, apart from his association with Glastrier and Spectrier, and that it was a royal Galarian Pokemon.

Appropriate for a Galarian Ambassador to have it. A shard, anyways.

"Fighting the Lousy Three directly is rough if you aren't ready for them. Gotta prepare beforehand, 'cause they're all a bit different. I've fought the Dog the most, and it seems pretty weak to Psychic Pokemon. But I still gotta be careful, 'cause they don't fight fair."

Oh. Mr. Kino was a little too old for a young man like him. It probably made the gym leader sound like his dad.[break][break]

“My apologies, I was simply too formal with how I place my respect for Hoenn’s gym leaders.” The female royal gives a little apology to the brunette male. “Hideo then, it is a lot easier on my tongue.”[break][break]

Charles continues to do his part of destroying another effigy of a strange bipedal dog with a toxic chain. That was a reminder for the royal princess that she had been placed in a weak ward along with those who were considered to be weaklings.[break][break]

“Oh yes, my shard of Calyrex doesn't act much of the same as the Calyrex he broke off of. He's a little like a very young child.”[break][break]

It was the results of the non-traditional challenge at Hideo’s gym that she’ll tell to the League’s Calyrex at one point. The story that she did would be a good part to add to her ‘homework’ that the King assigned for her.[break][break]

“I’ve taken the time to train and prepare myself for when I’ll see the Dog again.” Elise recalls that the Dog, a member of the Lousy Three, was weak to Psychic moves and his strength was much stronger than any of her other Pokemon. “Yes, I do recall that the Dog didn’t fight fair when I fought against him at the prison. He was very resilient when he was being battered by other Pokemon used by other trainers.”

"It's alright." He usually did the same with adults; he'd always been taught to address them by their last name if he wasn't familiar with them. It just felt awkward having that applied to himself. "Think people just like saying 'Hideo' more anyways."

People and Pokemon.

The shattering of another effigy was hard to miss; seems like Elise had done a pretty good job finding them. "Can't really say I know how the main Calyrex is supposed to act. Most I did was just tell'em stories by the Dyna Tree."

He'd assume Calyrex was supposed to be a regal personality, but then again, if this one was a child, would it be behaving as a young prince? He hadn't really interacted with the shard; the only other time they were in the same room, he was running Elise through his non-traditional, which didn't leave much room for interaction.

Would he have to refer to them as Prince Calyrex?

Hideo nodded along as Elise described Okidogi. "Sounds like the Okidogi I know. Already got to square off against it a few times regarding these effigies, and it's taken a lot of beatings - but it keeps coming back."

The effigies were likely why they kept coming back to life - but there was no denying that Okidogi possessed a natural resilience that made it a rough one to fight, even with the situation under control.

A rattling chain could be heard in the distance, growing closer. It seems like breaking two effigies was enough to get someone's attention.

"Well, guess you're gonna get a chance to test out that training in a minute."
