The sporadic tap, tap, tap of Ms. Babbette’s tiny shoes chased her as she hustled from one patient to the next. The volunteer Chansey, adorned in a small collection of human accessories, busied herself with tending to the next patient while her partner -- a fairly rough-around-the-edges farm girl -- had left to fetch some extra supplies. Unfortunately, her own paws were a bit ill fit for bandaging and opening water bottles. But, with any luck, she would do just fine without the human girl to fulfill the functions that required opposable thumbs.

With a gentle ”Chansey~,” she greeted a pair (a Lotad and his human partner) that slumped together against a nearby wall. They barely even moved in response. There was no need to really respond, though, she was here now and she would take care of them.

A few short steps and she rested just beside the pair, cooing to them calmly in explanation: her partner would be back any minute with some water. The Lotad nodded stiffly and nestled as best he could against his partner. For now, a wave of light settled over the two as Ms. Babbette’s heal pulse enveloped them.

a caring phantump

Sent by its master to provide volunteer help to those affected, the pale white Phantump floats through the chaotic scene silently, searching for an unattended patient with the dull blue glow of its eyes. There are so much injured pokémon and even some injured humans, as well. It isn't long before the ghostly tree stump comes across a young boy and his Persian, who appears poisoned.

Not questioning the manner in which the feline has been poisoned, but simply recognizing the sickly eyes and ill demeanor, Ephet is quick to float on over to the lad. The human boy seems anxious as he waits for one of the Chansey to attend them. But he brightens slightly when the Phantump approaches. "Are you a volunteer?"

"Pharuuu." The Shiny Phantump replies, bowing its head as it offers the boy one of its medicinal red leaves. "Pharu, phaaa." It takes a moment for the boy to understand. But, eventually, he goes ahead and tentatively plucks one of the leaves before feeding it to his sick Persian. Though bitter, the cure is sure to start its healing process within minutes of ingestion.

[attr="class","athread"]Fortuna was happy to be run ragged. Then again, Fortuna was happy to do most anything – it was how her kind had earned their second name. She placed a Soft-Boiled egg atop the head of a half-conscious trainer. Her creation’s energy melted off it, trickling down his body to seek out and heal his injuries. A faint smile from a man stripped of his pain prompted overjoyed cheers from his aide. She returned the egg to her pouch, giving it a chance to recharge as she sought out her next new friend….

Or rather, it sought her out. A Falinks had almost made it to her side beside the pack toppled over, their pain clear in a dozen eyes. They wiped the smile clean off Fortuna’s face, if only for the second it took for her to cast Heal Pulse on them. Six pairs of legs wriggled themselves upright, but Fortuna only stayed long enough to wish them well, and them hurry off to soothe a crying Squirtle’s words. In time, they would all be healed and eager to celebrate, but until then there were too many wounded for her to dwell on any one for long.

The coastal city of Slateport was instead surrounded with seas of Nurse Joys, chanseys, and blisseys, attending to every dying and convalescent patients lining up on the streets. It was Tue's first time to do something with his trainer Selena, and he did not expect a circus of injured trainers and pokémons.

"Audino..." Tue glanced his partner, worry painted all over his face. The tragic scene depresses him.

Selena crouched to see him and patted its head.

"You don't have to worry, Tue. No one gets hurt because you're going to heal them."

Selena's reassuring smile slightly comforted the disturbed audino. He followed to where she was going until she reached an old man with a wailing wingull. he could see its wings crisped due to fire, a burning sensation crawling to its body.

The trainer looked at Tue but she did not need to tell him what to do.

"Audino."

Tue was covered in cyan glow and a wave of bell sound resonated from him. Scars on the wingull's skin started to fade and its owner gleamed in joy.

[attr="class","spiral"] Fernando's Alomomola remains stationary within the confines of its tank. It can't move. It can't comfort others. It can only float in stasis.

Because it is a fish.

Among the chaos of the injured and bustling medics, the fish seems like little more than decoration. Hoisted onto one of the counter tops, it occasionally peers over the rim of the fish tank and sprays someone down with a mix of HEAL PULSE and bubbles up tank water.

That and it WISHES everyone feels better. Pray hard enough and the WISH becomes a HEALING WISH. No one can tell thought because the Pokemon has no telltale aside from the occasional air bubble that leaves its puckered mouth.

Because it is a fish.

To be fair, Alexei had sent out several of his Pokémon to help with the Slateport efforts. While his Lucario was busy helping shove rubble away from the Night Market, his Chansey had been sent in the opposite direction—towards the makeshift tents set up outside one of Slateport’s Pokémon Centers.[break][break]

While there were many who were already being seen to by all manner of Blissey, Chansey, and Audino, this particular Chansey chose to remain outside, to help the other people who were not able to get themselves inside the center to seek treatment—seeing as the place is packed to the rafters and may burst from trying to hold so many people in need of healing.[break][break]

Even if she’s unfamiliar with everyone around her, seeing the other pink-colored Pokémon helping out puts a spring in her step, as she hops over to a crying young female, before giving her one of the many nutritious eggs to eat.[break][break]

Insisting that the young lady take the egg, she waddles off to another—this time, someone with an injured Growlithe.[break][break]

Concentrating as best as she can, the Chansey releases a healing wave of energy towards the canid Pokémon, feeling the rejuvenating effects of the Heal Pulse wash over the Fire-type before waddling away to help out another group that had appeared at the edge of the makeshift tent city, this time carrying burned-up and shriveled Grass-types of many forms and shapes.[break][break]

Ahh, there was so much healing to do, and not enough time to get to all of them![break][break]

Avery's Alomomola is stationed with FERNANDO SILPH's. It remains poised opposite the councilman's fish, its eyes unblinking and indifferent. But even still, the strange fish's healing power extends to the nearby vicinity. Like a beacon, it draws the injured ever closer. Alas, the fish cannot get to the people far away.[break][break]

Because, as it was said, it is a fish.[break][break]

It mimicks its partner fish almost to a fault, wishing and spraying torrents of water that act as a healing pulse. The rest of the Pokemon around her that have use of legs are capable of actually lending a hand - but the Alomomola is all that Avery had had at the time.[break][break]

And, a fishtank-trapped fish is better than offering no assistance.

As if having heard its calling for life, the Comfey descends like its previous flock with eagerness and glee in being able to aid in need. It lets out a low hum as it looks at all the other Pokemon doing their best to treat and relieve the injured of their pain. Realizing that it can do so much more to help the nurses, the Comfey is quick to call upon its power to spread a GRASSY TERRAIN, encompassing it and the others with a soothing feeling.

It looks down to the injured Hawlucha, giving it a bright smile as it touches its flowery head against it. Immediately, it feels a sense of relief as it uses its FLORAL HEALING to make it better. The luchador pokemon opens its weary eyes, letting out a small grunt. It looks up appreciatively at the healing lei as it hops around happily seeing its better.
