Kaida liked these mountains, though she had no reason to enter the Infinite Tower just yet, she was nowhere near strong enough to justify entering it. Thus, she was hunting. It seemed she cleared the area of the mobs for a second, lots of Dieno so she had to find something else to hunt. [break][break]

At the Dieno dens, cleared it. Anyone want to test their power? [break][break]

A simple request, very Kaida-like. Perched like a bird upon rocky outcroppings, Kaida waited for who that would respond. She only hoped they were actually strong, otherwise there was no point to this.

What better way to test your skills and get stronger than by clearing mobs in the high-level areas? So far, Stormy had managed to avoid other players. She kept her head down and her eyes up, casually evicerating monsters long before anyone knew she was there.[break][break]

But it's when a random chat bubble pops up just ahead of her that she stops. [break][break]

'Wait, someone's ahead of me?'[break][break]

Her grip on her magic wand tightens as she takes a step forward. Her itch to test her skills proves too powerful than her mild anxiety about dying. She'd saved not too long ago, so whatever progress she had now wasn't important. [break][break]

When Stormy arrives, she sees no one specific. There's no stranger waiting at the mouth of the dens, no one lurking at the base of the trees just to her left. She frowns. Had this all been a trick?

Kaida supposed that it must be the game that helped her so much, but she still felt clever hiding so well. She crawled forward cautiously, eyes locked single-mindingly on her prey. Let it be known, Kaida never favored a fight without some kind of advantage, especially when it was life-or-death...er, PK or life. [break][break]

She grasped her knife. Poison Fang. She had to make this quick, and the fastest way was by lots of damage. She fell, right at her enemy, and stabbed her now purple knife down to the woman's back. [break][break]

Stormy slows her breathing, nearly craning her ears to try and catch any indication of someone else being here. But all she can hear is the soft rustle of leaves and the faint grunts of Deino deeper in their cave. They were beginning to respawn slowly.[break][break]

So it comes as a startling surprise when the sharp end of a knife is driven through the back of her shoulder blade. Pain seizes her body as the poison sets in immediately, leaking from the tip of her attacker's blade.[break][break]

"What the fuck?"[break][break]

Stormy hisses, wrenching herself away from the pain as one hand clasps her wound. It's a virtual injury however, and the pain quickly seems to disappear. It was time to retaliate.[break][break]

With a wave of her wand, she blasts a mystical fire all around her, as if in a protective barrier that will maim if the rogue gets too close.[break][break]

It isn't until Stormy uses her MYSTICAL FIRE that her positioning is revealed and he trains his gun on her. From a distance, he continues to watch the two tangle up before aiming a spot. The distance she creates is the perfect buffer for him to lay a free shot at her.

She waited for the signal—waited for the sight of FERNANDO SILPH 's zap cannon before she charged.

Out from behind a clustering of rocks by the cliffside, she charged out into the open. Each step landed with a heavy thud as the Black Knight charged, leveling her harpoon gun towards the target that had been designated.

She fired anchor shot for Stormy Silph .

Kaida smirked as her attack struck true, then started scrambling backwards as fire suddenly licked at her face. Quite suddenly, she stopped and took the attack. If she backed up and gave distance, then a long-range fighter would have advantage. However, just as she decided to strike again. Two more attacks shot out of the ether. Ah, two more fighters, going for the mage. All well and good, but Kaida didn't sign up for a Roltation Battle! [break][break]

When she darted forward, she wasn't aiming to protect the mage, far from it. She had a feeling that if she let the mage be destroyed, she was next, and she didn't aim to lose! Her dagger shot towards the armored person, hilt-first, and aimed to tap into the Infestation. She wasn't the most powerful, but if they were going to kill each other, she wanted them to be severely weakened doing so. [break][break]

It was inevitable with such an open request for PVP. They're no longer alone and that much is blatantly clear the moment she feels a paralyzing bolt strike her left shoulder. It throws her off balance and she stumbles backward, gasping in surprise. But the bolt didn't come from the same direction the lizard-girl stood.[break][break]

Confusion riddles her expression for only a moment until she hears the clink of chainmail boots. The heavy steps are unmistakable and she watches the warrior fire another shot at her despite the fire barrier. The ANCHOR SHOT narrowly misses her upper body due to her quick thinking. Unfortunately, the woman is not fast enough to flee entirely, and she soon discovers with painful resolve that the warriors shot has rooted her to the ground by her foot.[break][break]

"Fuck."[break][break]

Given her inability to run, she instead decides to take advantage of the moment of silence, allowing her previous opponent a chance to fight back while she focused a CALM MIND. She feels her special attacks and special defenses raise as she does so. But for now, the MYSTICAL FIRE barrier continues to burn, if a little less furiously, all around her. Smoke rises from the scorched grass.[break][break]

In most cases, the answer is to focus fire the mage and eliminate her for the confirmed experience, especially when the other person may join up with them. However, the moment Kaida lashes out at Bailey is the moment Fernando decides.

He switches targets and locks onto Kaida. A moment to aim while she busies herself with her own attack before firing another ZAP CANNON. Fernando remain laying on the floor quite a distance away, content to continue applying pot shots to whittle them down.

She attracted the aggression. The Black Knight does not flinch when an enemy leveled a strike against her.

Infestation would inflect reduced damage, struggling to find purchase against the blackened steel hide that Togekill wore. The attack registered on her health bar, but only as a small dink. Bailey could have laughed, if she wasn't already preparing a skill.

Sword raised to the sky, she summoned the mana from her MP bar to cast an attack that was too cool to resist; draco meteor.

And she aimed the descending draconian rock for Stormy Silph .

Idiotically, Kaida considered later, she assumed that she wasn't in danger of a potshot, thinking her speed would make the mage a more reasonable target. She was wrong. The ground zoomed away as Zap Cannon struck true and she skidded across the ground, coming to a halt with a grave relevation. She was paralyzed. [break][break]

Gazing at her HP bar, she nearly shivered as she saw it getting dangerously low. In the moment, she could still move, and hoped her data body would hold up. [break][break]

A hand-like shadow twined around her arm and she swung, hoping the attack wouldn't cut off at the last second as the paralysis lightning sparked.

The CALM MIND fizzles as her PARALYSIS sparks against her skin. It prevents her mind from thinking clearly, from words to spill from her lips. She's suddenly exhausted and dazed and still unable to move from her ANCHOR SHOT foot. Try as she might, the arrow does not budge from the top of her foot and she is wide open for the giant angry lady to slam her with DRACO METEOR.[break][break]

Except, before it may crash into her skull and decimate her health bar further with its terrifying draconic energy, she throws up her hands to destroy the majority of it and spray it outward towards the steel warrior with a blast of FREEZE-DRY. The ice-type attack would hopefully obliterate some of the worse meteors due to its type advantage. And if not, perhaps she was sly enough to have struck the warrior anyway.[break][break]

For now, whoever lurked in the shadows that had been targeting her so fervently earlier was distracted with the poor rogue girl she had been fighting. What a bother, these kill-stealers were.[break][break]
