Rikiya groaned, as he waited in line. Like the days before, many had tried and failed to pull the sword from the stone. Even if he was complaining about just how slim a chance it was to pull the blade, he wasn't going to give up anytime soon. He was far too invested in trying to get the rewards. But in the end, he had to wonder if he'd ever get it.

As it was his turn, Rikiya attempted to pull the blade from the stone.

it seemed that with each passing day, the chances of pulling the honedge only lowered. a visit to this place included watching at least ten other unfortunate players attempt to pull the sword, fail, and... well. die. it wasn't all that fun. even on the off chance that you were alone and no one could see you fail.

Another face succeeds in claiming the sword for themself and she grits her teeth. He was scrawny, a mage, a class much weaker and less significant than herself - how could this have possibly happened? Did this game favor the weak?[break][break]

Interesting. So the sword wasn't class-locked, and the fact that a mage had managed to unsheathe the sword was wonderful. It gave her renewed strength despite the odds that were stacked against her. [break][break]

A cyborg reaches for the sword and perishes to it and she steps up after her. She kicks herself for not having watched the young mage pull so that she might be able to mimic him and pull it exactly the same way.[break][break]

Oh well.

She had taken a break from the game for a while to focus on her real life duties and the baby Pokemon that begged for her attention. With the release of the game, she had soon become preoccupied with the sudden influx of customers looking for a place to house their Pokemon while they no-lifed the game.[break][break]

Which was fine, because it meant business was booming. And, honestly, she sucked at this game so it made no difference to her if she took a step out of the drivers seat to do her actual job.[break][break]

Rather than the familiar feeling of his very life being sucked away from his body, and dying on the spot, Rikiya would instead find himself lifting the sword from its stone prison with surprising ease. Underneath the wide brim of his hat, his eyes would widen in shock as he liberated the rusted blade. But rather than taking a heroic stance, the notorious troll would instead dance as divine light rained upon him.

"YEAH! YEAH! FUCK YEAH!", Rikiya shouted, before letting out five short, pumped up grunts.

he comes back after he has died. "seventeenth time's the charm," he mumbles, still knowing that the likelihood of him pulling the sword out of the stone is near zero. trying's free though, so he'll try this until he gets tired.

kyle walks up to the sword and stares at it. multiple players have also tried and failed the rng roll, and he's about to do it twice in a row. his hand holds the hilt of the sword, watching the ribbon wrap around his arm.

"here goes," he mutters to himself, hyping him up before he readies himself to reappear at the spawn.

his hand grips the handle of the sword before he attempts to pull it out.

Alec honestly had thought he was going to be succumbed by the sword's power - be taken back where he would always appear after the sword had claimed his life, however ... something else had happened. Instead, the sword was easily pulled out by the demon mage this time. He held the sword up triumphantly, it's power being released into the sky to show to all in the game that it had been claimed yet again, and by someone they should all fear no less. The condenced aura that had pierced the sky was as black as night with a hint of green to it as well, however only faint. [break][break]

It was then that a prompt had appeared before the Demon, asking him which Kingdom he would like to lay claim to. Alec had clicked Spectra, knowing full well that the kingdom would be most befitting to a Demon. The mage turned the sword fading into a black mist, giving him the power that he had seeked all this time. It was finally his, and now ... no player would be able to stand against him. He walked with an expression of power, his appearance beginning to take shape into a more demonic features. He no longer looked like himself. He had awakened the demon within him, and now ... this demon had laid claim to Spectra. [break][break]

"I can see ... the darkness more clearly now," his face still showing no signs of emotion, however the newly given power had still surged within him as he walked away, leaving the stone. He would go to his claimed kingdom, and anyone who got in his way would torn down - beaten and shattered. He did not care who they were. Trash would still be trash, and what do you do with trash? You throw it out with the rest of it ... [break][break]

more people had been crowned king and that was starting to make him panic. he had to try and pull out this thing once now that the chances of it working was lowered. however who ever heard of the fourth king of well anything? they were worsely known than the middle child of the family, of course kazimir wasn't doing this for glory (which was kind of a white lie) but for a sense of duty of trying his damndest to try and pull this thing out.

Two more had been crowned.

Hilariously, both of the newly-crowned were Mages, so that gave him some hope.

There was one particular kingdom he wanted to lay claim over, but so far he hadn’t been having much luck with claiming the damned sword from the stone. It was always a near miss. Miss, miss, miss…

He wanted to assert dominance over ice and snow! What was wrong with that?!

Sighing, he watched as the last person tried… and failed. Bracing himself for failure once more, he walked up to the stone, where the hilt glinted almost mockingly, as if daring him.

“Look… just one… just one shot,” he said to nobody in particular, looking around to check if there was anyone who was going to follow after him, before he grabbed the hilt and attempted to pull the sword…

Futility? Or certainty?

Nobody knew.

three?

it was too much. how many more kings will she have to witness rising to power on this game before the sword will answer to her prayers? before the honedge will allow the mage to claim it as a relic of her own kingdom? it was agonizing. the fact she had to wait, to return here each day, to keep trying... it had to end at some point.

and perhaps today will be that day.
