Selena was just keeping her laughter when she arrived at the fourth floor, seeing the trainer cuddle his large slaking. It was weird, but cute, in a good way. The challenge was not that difficult with the right pokémon, so she was quick to inquire with the rotomi first to summon her monkey, Haruma.

”Har, UPROAR!” Its resounding scream echoed throughout the hall. The effect was already taking effect but the slaking was still asleep. Haruma needed help.

VIGOROTH is idle.

so now their opponent was a big sleeping giant was it? not to most intimidating of things at first glance but kaz knew better, everyone who didn't look the part didn't mean they couldn't be a challenge, he himself could attest to that. still it was an obstacle in his path and he was going to do his part in order to help the team get through. "good thing i saved this. never thought i would ever use this little guy." he mumbled to himself as he brought out a pokeball and released the little pink fairy that was inside and hadn't seen the light of day in months.

"clefairy lets get that guy with a good slapping! wake-up slap time!" the clefairy bounced his way towards the slaking's face and wound up its arm before delivering a powerful slap. and then it did it a second time for good measure.

Chuckling for a few moments at Selena’s choice of Pokémon, Alexei found it rather ironic that a Vigoroth would be the one to wake up the laziest simian Pokémon he had ever seen—a Slaking. Nodding at the Clefairy’s choice of Wake-Up Slap, he knew that he had to go next.[break][break]

“One moment,” he said as he dashed for the Rotomi and swapped out Zima for Arion, his strangely-named Lairon. Returning a few moments later, he grinned before sending the metal-crunching Pokémon out.[break][break]

“Okay, Arion—I know you want to make some noise. I’ll allow you to do that—use your Uproar, now!”[break][break]

Isra is quick to shift her pokemon, the work around less obvious than one might think when she releases her zoroark of all things. The woman grins nonetheless. The whistle sounds.

The zoroark claps and buckles down, her "copycat" ability seeking the last move to used by their teammates. She echoes the airon's uproar, further increasing the cacophony that will hopefully wake the sleeping pokemon before them.

She is eager to move on.

At first, Selena thought the task was impossible. Only a handful could cancel an opponent’s ability without moving twice. But then she remembered having a pancham that fit the criteria she needed to accomplish the task.

”A pancham is trained for this job,” she hinted her company. Her success will be based on their performances as well, so if it was not yet clear for the first rounds, they needed to establish teamwork.

Summoning Pixiu the pancham, the new addition to her team looked at her trainer before attacking. “Throw it to the ground! You got this!”

The pancham launched itself towards the kabutops. When the fossil creature used its BATTLE ARMOR, the pancham’s MOLD BREAKER easily went through its defense. With her unbelievable strength, Pixiu lifted the dojo trainer’s pokémon and threw it to the ground with STORM THROW.

PANCHAM uses ability MOLD BREAKER then uses STORM THROW.
MOLD BREAKER cancels the opponent’s ability and STORM THROW always hit critically.

Normally Alexei wasn’t a believer of such, but maybe that one time he’d arrived in Slateport in time to see a whole bunch of Pangoro and Pancham basically going bananas and losing their shit while trying to wreck the city’s outskirts single-handedly.[break][break]

“Luckily, I have that as well,” he said in Selena’s direction, chuckling softly as he retrieved his own Pancham from the Rotomi-PC before returning back to where the Kabutops stood waiting.[break][break]

One flash of red light later, the panda Pokémon hit the mat before turning to face him, confusion on its features.[break][break]

“Oy, not now,” he began, hissing softly. “Over there! See? That’s your opponent. Show me what your Storm Throw’s capable of!” he continued as he waved the Pancham forward.[break][break]

A few moments later the Pancham’s own Mold Breaker ability kicked in, before it rushed forward and dealt a flurry of blows, each hit of the Storm Throw landing a critical hit on the ancient Pokémon.[break][break]

“Let’s get going,” he added as he turned to Isra and their companion.

as their newest challenge presented itself kaz had to stop himself from running over and fawn over the choices the team made on how to handle it. pancham? so it was all pancham? he wouldn't knock it that it was a good choice in this case but...why were they all pancham? "hah, buncha babies." he commented as he released his own pokemon.

They find themselves before another challenge and isra grimaces. She acknowledges that choices are slim and produces a pokemon.

It is the only pokemon she commands out loud. "storm throw." the pokemon listens, but isra observes with disinterest. The throh readies itself before striking out against the challenge pokemon.

It's sure to strike true and isra stashes the pokemon away.

clearing his throat of thorns, the man explains the challenge: "STRIKE MY BOY, FERRORO. AT LEAST 15 TIMES. SAME RULES AS ALWAYS. 'CEPT FER ONE THING. DON'T LET YOUR POKEMON GET HURT." the ferroseed does not stir. it does not move. is it even alive?[break][break][break]

But how much further could they traverse? Alexei looked over at his companions, before slightly nudging Isra—it was pretty odd they took the challenge in the evening, but he’d agreed to this since he knew something about her and that particular something was the reason why they couldn’t climb the tower during day time.[break][break]

Anyway… the next obstacle made him chuckle softly.[break][break]

“Exactly fifteen times? Alright, one moment,” he said as he walked over to the Rotomi and swapped out the Pancham for… for one of his particular avians. Jokingly named after a mascot on a box of cereal, he didn’t know that Sam was going to come in handy this very moment.[break][break]

Once he’d sent out the Toucannon, the avian let out a screech, before Alexei took up a particularly strange position as he wielded the Toucannon similar to a rocket launcher.[break][break]

“Rock Blast, and step on it!” he said as he hung on tight. The Toucannon let out an almighty caw before taking aim at the Ferroseed, pleased that Sam’s Skill Link ability allowed the attack to hit exactly five times with large rocks.[break][break]

Wait… how the hell could a Toucannon fire rocks from its maw? He didn’t know.[break][break]

Either way, that was his part done. “Five hits down, ten more to go. Shall we?”

Alexei Ivanov had a choice that was quite hard unique and unexpected, but as long as it did the job, the Kalosian did not mind. Retrieving the shellder from the rotomi, Selena ordered the bivalve to do its thing.

“Attack the ferroseed, but don’t touch it!” Selena quickly reminded the shellder before she used ICICLE SPEAR which intensified through the pokémon’s SKILL LINK.

SHELLDER uses ability SKILL LINK then uses ICICLE SPEAR.
SKILL LINK allows multi-strike moves to hit exactly five times.

as he pocketed his pokemon while coming up to the other floor he was a bit stumped at how he should handle this kind of challenge. seeing the others gave him the general gist of what to do but did he have a pokemon that could do what they did? that's when it hit him, he did get something from a friend who might just have what it takes to pull through this challenge.

"okay sugar, hit 'em with a bullet seed!" kaz cried out as he released the cinnico from its capsule and using its skill link ability was able to fire off multiple bullet seeds that pounded against the ferrothorn's thick hide. they might not be effective but knocking it out wasn't really a requirement now was it?

Her team's initiative is quick to begin filling the quota for the challenge, Isra seeks to bolster them as they do. Her espeon taking its place on the challenge room floor bounds through the group of pokemon. her helping hand certain to increase the potency of their attacks.

When the feline returns to her feet, satisfied, Isra is quick to pocket her again. Letting the psychic energies in the room mellow before the group can move forward again.
