It had been unexpected.[break][break]

When she'd arrived at Lulu's penthouse, she'd been under the impression that she would be meeting the young woman there. They had established a routine - whether it was healthy or not was up for debate, however it had been working for them. They were having fun, enjoying each others company, perhaps over-indulging.[break][break]

And, upon entering Lulu's door to see one of the paintings she had purchased when they'd first officially met, she had found herself bumping into the woman's Houndoom rather than Lulu herself. Her nose wrinkled at the sight of the beast, much preferring the presence of a feline instead.[break][break]

For whatever reason, perhaps one that Sabine Calcifet was unwilling to voice aloud, she had stayed well past her norm. She'd been stood up, it appeared, and it wouldn't occur to her until later that the fact her Houndoom had remained was suspicious. The woman she knew was careful, both unpredictable and predictable in her attention to detail and meticulous habits.[break][break]

The hellhound had been incredibly restless upon her arrival, and every visit since. She'd even had to feed the damned thing.[break][break]

And, after several calls being directed immediately to her voicemail, a bubble of concern rose to the surface and Sabine found herself unable to shake it and ignore it. Lulu had become someone of importance to her, someone she hesitantly found herself in favor of, affectionate for.[break][break]

It was that pressing need, that bubbling rage and concern that drew her to show up once again at Lulu's place. But this time, the woman had come home.[break][break]

"Did you lose your phone, Lulu?"[break][break]

There is a note of both relief and anger in the bite of her tone, and her bright green eyes stare daggers into the woman's back, shifting to her face as Lulu turns to face her.[break][break]

For a woman bedding down in an expensive penthouse, Lulu was sorely underdressed. Perhaps it was too forward of her to drag a near-complete stranger along with her to go shopping - and chances were Sabine would purchase more things for herself than express any interest in what Lulu should be investing in.[break][break]

Anticipation and attention to detail lead her to grow distracted immediately by the atmosphere of the room. Her eyes wander slowly, taking everything in, most importantly the abrupt announcement that Senon was home. Whoever he's speaking to lifts her attention to return the call, and Sabine's confusion melts into a satisfied half-smile.[break][break]

While this turn of events had been unexpected and jarring, she found it impossible to pull her attention away from the woman in front of her. [break][break]

It appears that Senon had been hunting. The way he had approached her, specifically in an attempt to make conversation, the way he had put his hand on her to guide her away from a heated situation as if they were previously acquainted.. it had all seemed quite forward and unusual. Sabine had detected familiarity in the man and her curiosity had been piqued. So she'd pursued him, in return, in the gamble that her night would turn out for the better.[break][break]

Despite Senon's fingers slipping from hers, she could see that her risk had been fruitful. [break][break]

The princess' eyes linger on Cait's face, her breath quite literally stolen from her.[break][break]

"Miss Alfric.. once again, the pleasure is all mine."[break][break]

Senon leaves to shower and change, and Sabine is left behind with the verdant Cait Alfric. She takes a step toward the woman, her smile betraying her excitement. [break][break]

The teleportation leaves her breathless, or perhaps that is as a result of being wrapped up in Senon's arms.[break][break]

Her attention defers from him momentarily, however, at the abrupt change in scenery. The air is heavy with the smell of trees and moss, fresher in comparison to the smoke of a fire and the bustle of a city. She doesn't immediately recognize the area either, though she finds the she is not the least bit startled.[break][break]

Senon's lips brush her neck and she leans into it, pokeballs slipping from her fingertips carelessly. Her two Pyroar reappear to wait outside, and their ears twitch at the sights and sounds previously unfamiliar to them.[break][break]

Warmth floods her back as they breach the front door, Sabine's grip tightening as the two of them enter what she assumes to be his place.[break][break]

Sabine hesitates only when she hears Lulu calling after her. She doesn't address her, specifically, and in the crowd such a question could easily be misunderstood as a question for anyone else, but this was Lulu, and she was the object of Lulu's affection, it seemed. The moment she'd put distance between herself and the mysterious woman, Lulu had immediately given chase.[break][break]

It was fitting because Sabine had never been one to chase others.[break][break]

The princess glances over her shoulder, nose pinched in disgust as she sweeps her gaze to meet Lulu's.[break][break]

That prior disgust is now bubbling with rage. Of course, that is distracted almost immediately by the blood-curdling scream of a man swinging from the vines above, but it returns as soon as arthur finnian vanderbilt steps foot on the scene. Anyone before him is immediately forgotten as the woman glares daggers.[break][break]

Oh, except for the fact that she had to interject as soon as she graced the contest floor with her own two cents regarding who the king of the jungle is.[break][break]

"Pyroar are actually the kings of the plains, Tarzan. But you know who is the king of the jungle? Sabor here!"[break][break]

As if on cue, the Liepard leaps from the darkness of the foliage, overtop of the Petilil-turned Lilligant to claim the spotlight. His dark spots catch the sunlight beautifully, and he targets the swinging monkey. His fake-out was meant to startle and slow him down, to prove once and for all who the real king was.[break][break]

He hones his claws on the rocks nearby, tail flicking lazily as he side-eyes the audience. Muscles roll beneath his purple fur, and he practically oozes confidence. [break][break]

"Sabor is everything a king should be: regal, powerful, exquisite. You don't need brute power to command the jungle!"[break][break]

And her pointed stare for Arthur is an indication that pretty petals wouldn't cut it, either.[break][break]

There was something distinctly familiar about her that she couldn't put her finger on, but that nagging feeling of suspicion drove her to pursue. [break][break]

It was the bare walls, the empty shelves, the lack of personality and individuality. It was the way Lulu stared at her critically from across her countertop, how she had picked out an expensive wine despite showing no hint of wealth on or around her.[break][break]

She was hiding from something. Perhaps she had been found and it was the reason for her move, the reason her apartment was so discreet and uninteresting. [break][break]

Or maybe she was being hyper-critical, thinking too much. Maybe Lulu Flint was just another normal human being, co-existing in a world of war and confusion and disappointment.[break][break]

One thing was certain, however. Lulu was far from a disappointment.[break][break]

It isn't every day that Sabine is taken by surprise. Bold fingers fasten around the curve of her wrist, holding fast and pulling her in. Where once she had been the one in the lead, she is no longer, not with the warm breath against the slope of her neck and the temptation whispered in her ear.[break][break]

Sabine's lips part as she sucks in a breath, allowing, for once, another person to lead her astray.[break][break]

She senses confidence, danger and deliberation in the way Lulu had claimed control. It was interesting, fascinating, exciting, and she couldn't help but want to see it through.[break][break]

Except as quickly as she is lead, Lulu is just as quick to forget about her in favor of that same mess of tightly-wound blonde curls. She sees the flash of molten silver swimming amongst the crowd, and she can feel the tremble of temptation in the grip Lulu retains in her arm. It comes from the woman's core when she speaks, an aggressive challenge rising past her lips.[break][break]

But this challenge wasn't for her, it was for the woman climbing the tree. Whatever unspoken sexual tension lingers between them is lost in translation for the woman who had once, for just a moment, been Lulu's entire focus.[break][break]

It makes Sabine scowl, and she barely finds the will to turn that scowl into a smirk when skyler dross falls from the tree unceremoniously.[break][break]

"No one special, huh?"[break][break]

Jealousy is an emotion not well hidden on the princess' face, and she has the urge to tug her hand from Lulu's grip. She doesn't, but there is tension in the way she holds her arm out.[break][break]
