Who Ordered A Family Reunion?

Elinor noticed the movement, the tugging of knees in close. Sure she might not have been the best of sisters, but she knew people well enough. And it seemed Autumn might be on edge.

Was I wrong? She started questioning herself, perhaps Autumn did not want to talk about Pokémon.

And the bitterness in Autumn’s words were clear as day. And understandably so. Elinor didn’t reply to those, instead she allowed Autumn to keep talking.

But the following words caught Elinor off guard. Mouth agape as Autumn spoke.

Why would I object? I am not our parents… But perhaps that was how Autumn saw her. That thought brought forth a bad taste in her mouth. She did not want to be like her parents. She wanted to be better.

“No I do not - ” Elinor said, an odd mix of gentleness followed by hesitation as the words she wanted to say seemed stuck in her throat. “I am looking forward to seeing you succeed in that.” A smile on her lips, inviting Autumn into the positive sphere.

“Perhaps, if you’d like, we can have a sparring match?” Elinor offered. Though she knew one little Olive branch would not make a healthy sisterly relationship.

By now, Bagon had grown tired of the coddling from Elinor, and instead set its sights on Autumn, who seemed to be in dire need of some coddling of her own. Minh the Bagon could not understand why Elinor wasn't coddling what she by now had figured out to be her little sister. But well, if her oblivious trainer wasn’t about to do it, then SHE would!

The Bagon crawled out from Elinor’s lap and attempted to jump onto Autumn’s lap, where if she was successful she would begin to coddle and console the on edge poor green-haired woman.

Elinor had never considered that Turtonator might be making the waters warmer. But it made sense. Still, she replied with only a snicker, letting Andrea draw her own conclusions on that.

Unknowingly Elinor found herself moving for the edge of the pool leaning against it as she watched her Pokémon do its own thing.

“I am glad to hear that you are doing better.” She still felt bad about the things she had said at their last meeting.

“Wow, sounds like you’ve had a busy week.” Elinor looked surprised. “New Pokémon, battling Heartran, even going to an Alien Dimension, and that was only a single week?” She repeated in disbelief.

“So, did you find something interesting in that other dimension?”

Anderson VS Silph(GYM)

THUNDER PUNCH connected, allowing Kommo-o to barely dodge the oncoming follow-up attack.

A Staggering opponent would usually have meant for Kommo-o to push the offensive. But it could do no such thing.

Though not knocked out, its body was feeling the fatigue. So when Aegislash came for the final blow the only move Kommo-o could attempt was to PROTECT itself. The simmering green barrier came forth once more, though it protected Kommo-o from the damage, the PROTECT broke right after.

The battle on Kommo-o’s end was done. He could do no more.

Luckily Aggron seemed to have more luck with Starmie. Buried beneath a pile of rock, it did not seem like his opponent wanted to or could get out.

And so he turned his attention to the Aegislash. Charging towards the opponent. METAL CLAW’s shining bright with Mega evolution energy. Aggron would finish the job Kommo-o could not.

She seemed thoughtful as Amor spoke of challenging the Mauville Gym first. But then a mischievous smile spread across her lips. “I Almost hope you do. Josh Devlin is a dear friend of mine, so I would love to see how he fares against a strong challenger like you.”

Though much as she would like to think so, she had a feeling Josh would be on the losing side. But that was a thought for another time.

“Not really. I have six badges already, so by now I merely need two more to finish the set and I will be ready to challenge the Elite Four.” Elinor smiled. The only thing holding her back was the damn challenger ques. A problem even her money could not solve.

She took a moment to sip at her drink and letting Amor’s suggestion settle in.

A challenge, eh? The thought was exciting. Amor clearly had the skills to compete against members of the Elite Four, so it was definitely going to be an interesting match.

“Well, I for one would never say no to a friendly match against you champion or not.” She released a small chuckle.

“Sure! Sounds like a pretty good plan.” Elinor agreed. Taking Shalin to Ranger school might provide her with an opportunity to go through its curriculum once more, and see if there was any improvements that needed doing.

But then Shalin raised another question.

Did Elinor have plans for New Year’s Day?

Elinor shook her head. “Well, no concrete plans. I might just go Bar-crawling with some friends.” Little did Elinor know that was exactly what she would be doing. But that was a thing from the future.

One weird capture later, Elinor found herself being offered tales of other similar captures from Shalin. “Three other Pokémon caught like that?” Elinor sounded in disbelief. “Well, you simply MUST tell me about those.”

[M] Why Do Folks Kermit To Poaching, Anyway?

Chaos took hold of the situation, helped along by the power of the Raichu and the Dragapult alike.

As the pair of Ranger’s approached, an opportunity to strike arose, and Dragapult took it.

The poachers would soon find themselves on the ground knocked down and out for the count by the Dragapults attacks.

Elinor smiled rather pleased at her Ghostly Dragon’s ability as she finally came to see the view. She walked over to her Dragon, it did not move, choosing instead to keep a watch on the downed Poachers.

“Well done, Draga.” She placed a gentle hand on its head, giving it the positive affirmation it wanted, as its tail began to wag from side to side.

“Thank you, Josh.” Elinor replied. “Your Raichu was very impressive as well.” She turned her attention toward the Pokémon that had worked for the Poachers, as well as any they might be keeping in the cages.

She let the Dragapult be, and began to check the health of all the Pokémon. Hoping to find that the Poachers had at least taken proper care of them.

Though she had an inkling they would not have.

The League had failed…

She had failed…

It was pretty much the same thing.

Eris was right. This was a prison meant to keep threats secured. Elinor didn’t agree with its usage on Eris. To keep a child locked up was wrong, even if she had committed crimes. But on that, there was little she could do.

At least not quickly.

Elinor could not comment on the matter of Eris’s capture. She knew that doing so could very quickly lead to promises made that she might not be able to keep.

Instead Elinor simply gazed upon the small display of affection Eris and her Pokémon shared.

“I am sorry.” Elinor wiped what excess water might’ve gathered in her eyes from hearing Eris’s tale.

“Thank you for your consideration. You are very kind.” And Elinor meant those words in earnest. Eris was far too kind for being a member of Team Rocket.

“But I want to get to know you, ALL of you. The good and the bad, and even that in between.” Elinor resolved herself. “But I do understand that it must not be easy to talk about. Even if you do say that you are okay with doing so. So don’t feel pressured to talk about it.” Elinor reminded her.

“Just tell me the parts YOU think I should know about you.”

Fernando seemed like a blank canvas. Elinor simply couldn’t get a read on him. It was actually rather impressive.

But she was granted something for her efforts. Five small words, which if she squinted hard enough could almost seem like encouragement.

“It will have to be, it’s the one I have.” Elinor commented. “Though I must admit, I do feel a smidge worried about some parts of it. Specifically the Rangers.” Elinor watched for any signs of a reaction. But she figured she would see none.

“I am sure you are well aware by now. But the last Ranger meeting didn’t exactly go as planned.” That was speaking kindly.

“Don’t get me wrong I have faith that our Head Rangers, and their captains will be doing their best for the benefit of Hoenn.” Elinor said, an icky feeling appeared in her mouth. It didn’t feel right to talk about Laurence Anderson and annalise henderson with Fernando. But still, friends and family they may be. They had important positions they were supposed to maintain.

“It is just the rest I am worried about.” Though she shared the Cadet within the organization, the difference in professionalism amongst the Cadets were astounding.

“But what do you think of the Rangers?”

Elinor figured as much. It seemed Josh had planned this through already. At least it seemed so, as Josh showed her the regional map.

“That sounds like it could be dangerous.” Diving was not a trivial matter. “I am sure I don't have to say this. But do be careful.”

Elinor swigged alongside Josh. Though her beverage was alcoholic.

Her swig was a bit longer than Josh, and so by the time her glass returned to the table. She heard the man chant something about defense. Her gaze turned to the screen and well. It seemed Mistralton was doing some work. Much to the dismay of all the Goldenrod fans here.

She gave Josh a nod as he commented on the game. His enthusiasm about it was contagious, even to a non-fan like her.

But then the server came to take their order. “Honestly. No idea." She seemed thoughtful for a moment before she spoke "Actually, Josh. You can have the honors. Surprise me with something.” Elinor spoke rather casually. Perhaps the alcohol was starting to ease her a bit?

The sweet taste of donuts could not offset the sad tale that Eris provided Elinor with. To make matters worse, Eris revealed the person to have been of the League. Her free hand curled into a fist, though her face betrayed not the anger she felt.

The League were supposed to be good guys, to protect those in need.

Eris was a child in need. How dared whoever this person was, say that.

Elinor took a bite of her donut, hoping to quell the anger that simmered inside her. The Donut did not quell her anger. But it did ease a bit of her tension.

But what little relief she was granted was quickly pushed aside as Eris continued. Losing family to Team Rocket and then to The League was unknown to her, she did understand loss and grief. She had experienced it at the hands of Necrozma.

Her face faded into sadness, her eyes grew blank and watery for a moment. But she pushed such feelings aside. It was supposed to be the girl in front of her that was allowed to show such emotions.

“I… I am sorry. To hear your story. I am… I am at a loss for words.” Elinor spoke. “The League isn’t supposed to be something that you fear. It’s meant to protect, to help and offer support to its citizens.” She continued. “It hurts me to hear that this is not the case for you. Though I know my words and promises mean little compared to what you’ve experienced.” She spoke. Her eyes on Eris, sadness having been pushed aside to make way for empathy.

She wanted to offer the girl a reassuring hug. But something told her that doing so might not exactly be wise.

She’s been caught in a moment of relaxation when a familiar voice dragged her back down from the heavens.

She looked around trying to see the woman whose voice was calling out to her. She found her quickly. Every bit as clothed as Elinor.

Elinor waved with a smile to Andrea.

In that very instant that Elinor’s eyes laid upon Andrea, she knew that Arceus had a favorite child in this region. Golly gee, Andrea’s assets were huge.

But Elinor didn’t envy her those assets. No, not one bit. She knew gravity would collect a heavy toll because of them, if not now perhaps later. Clearly there was no reason to be envious at all. No, Elinor was perfectly shapely as is, and she was quite proud of her own assets, even if Andrea had her beat by a landslide… BUT SHE WASN’T JEALOUS.

Redness was quick to emerge on her cheeks, as Andrea came closer. But surely that was just the heat.

Anyhow, words were spoken.

“Yeah what a coincidence. I am doing quite alright. How about you?” She casually replied.

The Turtonator waved a greeting at Andrea before returning to it’s futile attempt at floating in the onsen.

Elinor listens as it seemed her casual, perhaps even kind approach began to ease the words from Eris.

Though the tale that Eris spun wasn’t exactly a kind one.

“Do not worry. It is not a bribe. It’s a gift.” Elinor reassured Eris. Though she understood where the suspicion came from. “I suppose a single Donut can’t hurt.” Elinor agreed. “Thank you.” She moved for a short moment to take whichever Donut Eris would let her.

“I am glad that I am not on your hate-list.” Elinor smiled, even allowed a small chuckle to escape, as she now held the Donut in one hand. “Though I am curious to know who that single person could be. But you don’t have to tell if you do not want to.” Elinor reassured before taking a small bite of the treat.

“No, Miss Melody did not put me up to this.” Elinor replied with a light shake of her head. ”To answer your question. As you guessed, my day has been rather uneventful. But that’s not a bad thing. It allowed me the opportunity to meet you.”

She did ponder the relationship between this girl and Melody, it seemed they were rather close. But perhaps that simply originated in the tale Eris had woven earlier.

“I would like to get to know you.” Elinor stated. “Of course, only if you would be interested in letting me, that is.” She was really careful not to push.

Of all the gifts granted to Hoenn or the world for that matter, Hot springs were among the top three. They worked wonders for the body and soul, and so of course Elinor with the stresses of her work bearing down upon her, had sought the onsen of Lavaridge to offer some comfort to her ailing body.

She had dipped into the hot waters. The rising mist from warmth meeting cold air hid her from the other occupants, and vice-versa.

But she wasn’t alone. She had brought along with her a Pokemon of comparably large size. To be precise a Turtonator. The large imposing Fire Dragon’s figure cast a silhouette clearly in the mist, hiding the council woman’s smaller frame even further as it relaxed.

Not that Elinor needed to hide. In fact, she was so relaxed that she’d even begin talking to herself or the dragon, whichever one decided to reply first. “I should’ve really gone here sooner.” Elinor sighed relaxedly.

The Turtonator was quicker than its trainer and replied with a happy growl as it relaxed even further, if that was even possible.
