Who Ordered A Family Reunion?

“… Autumn…” Caught off guard by the appearance of Autumn, this was the closest to a greeting that she managed to summon. Her gaze quickly turned to the two Pokémon by her feet. Elinor didn’t know what was worse the Sneasel currently destroying her property or the fact that The person they had allowed inside was in fact her sister.

Though she wanted to, she refrained from audibly exclaiming the string of curses going through her head. “No, they haven’t mentioned anything.” Not that she had spoken with them since they left the region. She sighed while pinching the bridge of her nose. Annoyance, restrained as it was, still found ways to radiate from her voice.

She placed the Pokéball that she had meant to use back in her trainer belt. By Arceus, she had forgotten how irresponsible her sister was. She was about to lash out at her for staying behind just to attend an end-of-the-world party when the G word was used.

“Guests?” A dread chill ran down her spine. She did not want to deal with this right now. “What do you mean by guests? You aren’t hoping to stay around are you?” Yep, she did not want to deal with this one bit.

The glance did not go unnoticed. But for all the opinions the waiter might have, it all went unsaid. As they should. She gently took a hold of the glass of champagne, taking a small sip of it. It had been a while since she had indulged in the finer things.

In fact, now that she thought about it. The last time she dressed up like this and just enjoyed some drinks in the company of a friend was with Callan. A quick thought shot through her, and she quickly came to hope Amor wouldn’t get the wrong idea about this.

Moving on, she listened attentively as Amor gave a status update. While measures had to be taken or let The League’s already waning image of power disappear even further. It gave her no joy. At least she hadn’t directly been a part of the decision.

A small chuckle emerged as Amor spoke of the sanctions in further detail, and how little they affected production right now. “Yeah, I will admit I was rather surprised when I heard of the sanctions that they put in place.” Elinor paused considering her words. “The very nature of the sanctions makes me wonder if my colleagues truly thought them through or merely wanted to send a message to the wider populace that wouldn’t know any better.” She took another sip. “I am inclined to lean towards the latter.”

“But, I am glad to hear that your future endeavors are looking bright with your newfound friends.” A knowing look was sent at Amor. She didn’t need to go into details.

Who Ordered A Family Reunion?

Before she opened the door. She retrieved one Pokéball from her Trainer belt. With a quick press of the button did she enlarge it, ready for action. She placed an ear against the door to see if she could hear anything. All she heard was loud scratching, a Porygon-Z that tried to halt the Sneasel from destroying property and well, nothing else.

She quietly opened the door. Sneaking in. Pokéball in hand, ready to release.

She snuck further in reaching the living room as one of the first rooms. She expected to see Team Rocket goons or other such villainous characters. Instead, she saw a Sneasel making itself comfortable with her living room couch… And a Porygon-Z pleading for it to stop before its mistress came home.

“What’s going on here!” Elinor exclaimed fury and confusion in her voice.

The Porygon-Z was startled and immediately landed on the floor in front of her in apology.

The Sound of her voice alerted the Rotom that inhabited a phone. It came flying at her at full speed, phone speakers blasting at full capacity. “MISTRESS ELINOR, it’s horrible. I tried to stop it, but they would not listen to me. I swear I had nothing to do with it. I was firmly against it. SURELY YOU WILL UNDERSTAND. PLEASE UNDERSTAND.” The Rotom phone threw itself at her feet.

Now Elinor was just getting confused. Her eyes looked only at the Rotom and Porygon-Z for a short moment before returning to the wild Sneasel in her living room. “What?”

“A woman claiming to be your sister arrived and they just let her inside!” The Rotom was quick to point toward the Porygon-Z who just took full responsibility.

“WHAT!” If she wasn’t already tired and annoyed from work, this certain development certainly pushed her in that direction.

The playfight halted as the buzzing sounds of wingbeat reached them. All four turned their attention toward the sky. Elinor had to do a double take when she saw the huge Beedrill with a trainer upon. Though as the sound grew there was no mistaking it. That really was a Beedrill large enough to carry someone.

Small hints of surprise on her face as the Beedrill landed nearby. For a moment she didn’t want to assume. But when the trainer stated her name the answer was clear. This was her partner for today.

A smile spread over her lips. It seemed this was going to be more fun than she expected. “Yep, that’s me.” She nodded enthusiastically. “And I presume you are Shalin, right?”

Meanwhile, the Kommo-o group just watched the Beedrill cautiously.

A Stranger Approaches (Duo Wild)

While Elinor was no telepath. It didn’t take long for her to notice the insincerity of the thanks. But she didn’t let that affect her. Her smile stayed bright, her attitude stayed warm.

“Oh don’t worry about that. No need to apologize for being new or for being frustrated. It happens to the best of us.” Elinor spoke.

It seemed Miranda was content with her capture and instead wanted to head toward a town. “Well, depends. If you are going to Mauville, you just follow the road that way -” She pointed straight north. “- And if it’s Slateport you are heading to, you follow it that way.” She pointed in the direction of the South.

Meanwhile dragging the Bewear along with it was a bit more of a hassle than the previous Pokémon. So much so that a wild Mandibuzz landed and asked if it could perhaps have a chunk of the bear.

The answer was of course now. But the Hisuian Typhlosion offered that if it were to join Elinor’s team, then it would never be wanting for food.

The bird considered this for a moment and then agreed to come along to see what the catch of this generous offer was. Though the bird did not help drag the Bear, much to the dismay of Typhlosion.

"What's on your bucket list? Why? If you died right now, would you regret anything?"
Well, there are two things I will regret if I were to die right now. One is that I wouldn’t have achieved my dream of making Hoenn into a safe place for future generations. And two is that I wouldn’t have gotten to experience the joys of parenthood.

I know it seems odd that I would want to procreate when I claim that Hoenn isn’t a safe place. But I will die someday, and if by then I have yet to achieve my dream then I would need someone to continue my work.

And since I do not think my siblings or cousins have any intentions of procreating, then it falls to me to do so, right? (besides I am the only one for now who has a partner, as far as I know, so there’s that.)

"What's your favorite article of clothing or accessory, or what do you wear the most often?"

Easy! Business Suits. If made properly they are surprisingly comfortable.

If Ultra Beasts invade Hoenn. I will personally kill every last one of them… I mean, I would give them the opportunity to surrender, and if they don’t. Well, It’s an invasion, and you know what Hoenn does to invaders.

As for favorites. I don’t have any. I do have a target though. Necrozma. That one and all of its ilk needs to be exterminated for what it did to Hoenn and is now doing to Galar.

"How would you deal with the loss of a loved one, whether a family member or a Pokemon?"

I would grieve them, maybe even seek counseling if I feel the need for it. And swear revenge against whatever caused their death.

Pokémon training. I know it’s a bit of a cliché, but it’s something I’ve enjoyed for a long time. Though I honestly can’t even explain why. It was just something about it, the way Pokémon fought, the power they presented, the bonds between trainer and Pokémon. Something like that.

"What do you find attractive? What kind of physical attributes, personality traits, or other features of a person stand out to you?"
What do I find attractive? Hmmm. I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it.

Well, I will admit I am not too picky when it comes to people’s looks. Men or Women, both have their positives and negatives. I think perhaps it is more of a personality thing with me. If you are comfortable with yourself, then that’s definitely appealing to me. Does that make sense?

"What is your preferred environment? Is it a library with white noise of pages flipping? A noisy party? The great outdoors? Why?"
My preferred environment is in the arms of the one I love. Given my work and Pokémon training hobby. I am pretty much used to all manners of environments. But the one that brings me the most peace is together with my significant other.

"If you had a Pokemon typing, what type would you be? Would you be a dual-type? Why?"
I would be a Dragon/Steel type, no doubts.

If anyone hurts my friends and loved ones. I will burn the ones who did it, their families, and their communities to make sure that it won’t happen again… Oh that turned dark rather quickly. My apologies.

Ever smelled rain? Oh, that’s a dumb question. Of course, you have. Well, my favorite smell would be the scent of a Garden that has just been bathed in rain. I bet you thought I was going to say something cheesy like the “Smell of my significant other” well. I am afraid he smokes. So… I will admit. Not too fond of that.

Well. I love them for the same reasons they love me. I offer them friendship, safety, and companionship. And so do they offer these things for me. It’s symbiotic really.

The power of Imagination is terrifying. It’s unlimited, no? That’s why I fear my dreams when I go to sleep. For in them my failures hunt me constantly. Be they Necrozma, Meteno, Team Rocket. All of them are enemies that I have yet to conquer.

Elinor nodded and got up from her chair. She walked around the table and began to lead the way to the Battle Complex while continuing their conversation while they walked.

“Well, if you are happy with your position then that is all that matters.” Elinor agreed. And she had to agree. Having gotten to know Josh fairly well, as far as she knew. She figured he wouldn’t last well going higher than that, not because of a lack of battle prowess, but because of politics. He was simply too kind for that game.

They reached the storage System. Elinor gave Josh some time to pick his Pokémon while she also picked a team of her own. “Well, When we settle on a date for the match, I’ll have to make sure the area is cleared. Wouldn’t want anyone stumbling in on accident.” She commented as the Six Pokémon she picked appeared. Shedinja, Swampert, Steelix, Electivire, Metagross, and Aggron.

With the six Pokémon picked. She led the way to one of the few unused battle areas. A basic thing, no more than a field with a few lines marking boundaries. But it would have to do. After all, they hadn’t reserved a place in advance.

“So, which should we begin with?” She placed the ball in Josh’s court. She figured he knew which of his Pokémon needed the most focus after all.

A sigh of relief escaped Elinor as they somehow made it. “Well done.” She acknowledged Steelix once more.

The Steel serpent continued on. Making its way past the line and into the next lap. Now they had booster moves to use. But they quickly came upon the first obstacle of the new round.

A very sharp U-turn.

“This is going to be a sharp one, Steel. Be quick, but don’t lose grip on the ground.” Elinor explained as the obstacle came closer and closer. “Do not boost here.” Elinor reminded Steelix.

A low rumble confirmed that Steelix had heard Elinor’s explanation.

And so the pair would ride into the U-turn as quickly and as safely as they could. Indifferent to anyone who might be near them be they small or of equal size.

The moment she had heard that Rustboro had gotten a real proper Gym, she had made her way over there. Not only to congratulate CIAN MAHER on his new promotion. But to challenge him.

Walking through the entrance to the building clad in a casual grey business suit. One might get the impression that she was here for business. They couldn’t be further from the truth this time. This was all pleasure for her.

Making her way to the Arena she saw an audience beginning to gather. I hope they are ready for a show. A confident smirk on her lips as she would turn her attention to the Gym Leader that was surely waiting for her. “Hello, Cian!” She would greet him. “Congratulations on the promotion!”

She retrieved her two Pokéballs summoning forth her Steelix and Kommo-o to the battlefield. Before waiting for Cian to do the same.

Unexpected Encounters [dw]

Elinor watched the Marshall and his Kommo-o jump into action. Taking down a wild Togetic in a quick move. So engrossed were they in the going-on that neither noticed the Aromatisse that waltzed by. Unfortunately for them, Aromatisse was not about to be ignored. So used to being the center of attention, the Aromatisse made its way over to Elinor, grabbed one of her Pokéballs, and demanded that they pay attention to her.

Annoyed by this display of entitlement the Shiny Kommo-o grabbed the Pokéball and dunked it on the Aromatisse’s face beginning the capture.

Elinor looked baffled for a moment but did not decide to question it. Instead, returning to watching Marshal, who had seemingly noticed them now.

In fact, he was approaching alongside his Pokémon.

“Thank you,” Elinor replied. “Yours look pretty great too.” A wide smile on her lips. A chuckle escaped her as the Kommo-o seemed offended by its trainer’s statement. Elinor looked at her own Kommo-o to see how it was responding.

It was clearly trying to not look at the fine female specimen that stood before him. If reptilian cheeks could blush, he would certainly be doing so.

She gently nudged him with an elbow, as she gave him a knowing glance and a raised eyebrow. Kaleo, you playboy. Elinor thought torn between reminding her Kommo-o about his ‘wife’ at home and wanting to see Kaleo spectacularly fail at courting this Female Kommo-o.

"My name is Elinor. It is a pleasure to meet you." Elinor decided to say.

Speed vs Strength (GYM)

As always it seemed Elinor would arrive just as Josh was taking of a saddle from one of his Pokémon. Perhaps it was to be a common trend. But that was neither here nor there.

She found his sudden focus on her clothing rather amusing as she replied with a chuckle and a simple “This is Business Casual.” Before he went on to introduce the two Pokémon he would be using. She summoned her own pair.

Both Pokémon waved a greeting to their would-be opponents.

After making their way to where their battle would take place. Josh did as he had to do, and followed League Protocol, earning himself an approving nod from Elinor. She was a simple challenger today, and he should treat her as such no matter their relations outside of this.

And so they reached their battle beginning. The Kommo-o and Swampert took to the battlefield. Elinor took to the trainer’s safety box.

“Sohrab give him the good ol’ greeting. Kaleo Protect.”

With the words spoken Swampert and Kommo-o went into action. A Green translucent barrier formed over Kommo-o protecting him from the harm that was about wash over the field of battle.

Meanwhile, Swampert raised its fist only to punch down upon the ground sending powerful tremors through the arena as an EARTHQUAKE would wash over all the participants of this battle.

Unexpected Encounters [dw]

Time and time again, Elinor proved capable of finding time to pursue the furthering of her Pokémon roster. Today was no exception.

Hiking along Route 115. Elinor and her companion Pokémon, a lime-green and pink-scaled Kommo-o, kept watching for any and all potential recruits. Alas, it was not a wild Pokémon that they gazed at first. But instead, a trainer and what Elinor assumed was HIS companion Kommo-o

What a coincidence! Elinor couldn’t help but think as they walked toward the pair. Though she was in no hurry, instead favored to keep a watchful gaze on any signs that the two did not wish to interact with them.

The Kommo-o by her side was by far too taken by the view to even notice the female of his own specie getting closer and closer.
