Ice cauterizes in the air around him, the force of his HATRED chaneling onto the traitor.

[break][break] A traitor, not only to Rocket but to Galar and most importantly to him.

[break][break] His SUCKER PUNCH hits, whirling forward against the thundurous scales of the Deep Black. Zekrom roars, revving up with a TERAVOLT that blasts towards the Admin and his pokemon, a steel wing that crashes against the ghost-type and rocks them both backwards. As they're hit, Jayden's hand hastily grab onto whatever scales he can, hands splayed against it in a brief moment of scalding frostbite.

[break][break] His other hand holds tight to his Dragapult's body as they twist into the air, the sight of DRACO METEOR crashing down on them all. When they spin, his other hand raises up a sheet of ice to protect against the fiery meteors, too distracted to see the sudden BOLT that lances his way into his shoulder, forcing him to release a cry. Bloodied hands tighten around the imbedded bolt as THEO BECKETT's LIFE DEW heals him, and the sibling RUINATION strengthens him.

[break][break] The presence of THEO BECKETT so close to him makes the cloud fade from his eyes, but not his conviction.

[break][break] "DIE FOR YOUR SINS! DIE FOR YOUR IDEALS!"

[break][break] An INFESTATION grows, splitting out in tiny snakes that scatter and plunge towards both Remiel Calcifet as he falls into the dragon's waiting mouth.

What did Isaac Merlo have to do with anything? He had to do with everything.

[break][break] In some ways, he symbolized the reason why The Cursed existed in the first place.

[break][break] "He attacked us," Jayden growled, lips curled into a snarl. His eyes blistered blue, but it was not contempt or hatred for Elisabeth Fiorelli that rose in his eyes. It was for all the others. Remiel Calcifet. CIAN MAHER. Isaac Merlo. "He hurt us."

[break][break] Us. Rocket. Us. Chien Pao and him. Us. Family.

[break][break] "When he chose the likes of the League - of Caleb Harcourt - over his own damned family."

[break][break] The events of the Med Bay had been public knowledge. The wore Jayden had tore away from all of the constrains that had been placed upon him, how he had recklessly run into the fray and tried to fight off both Caleb and Isaac, without any worry for his own life. The way that he had been stabbed subsequently, had nearly died.

[break][break] Had failed.

[break][break] Jayden closed his eyes painfully then, pressing a palm to his eyes. When he opened them again, his eyes were amethyst once more.

[break][break] "What about you? How long did it take? For it to stop... hurting."

[break][break] He meant all of it. The recovery, the avatarship, the pain that swelled in his heart again and again when he thought about all the people who'd stabbed him — both literally and metaphorically.

The feeling of Fern's hand on his is the only thing that stays him in this feverish storm, so alike the one that he can create. While everyone else battles against frozen ice and tearing space, Jayden's own struggle is - and has always been - a demon of his own making.

[break][break] 'How are you doing?'

[break][break] A question without an answer. Violet eyes glance towards his partner, giving a subtle nod in their direction. "I'm —"

[break][break] Before he can answer properly, however, a voice booms through the snowscape. Sharply, he glances away from Fern, hand falling away, as ice crawls up his arm. "He's leaving!" Jayden growled, watching in despair as the UNBOUND HOOPA disappears into the boundless portal, leaving nothing but a riddle.

[break][break] Water, Fire and Earth.

[break][break] Was that the key to the world's end?

[break][break] He thought about back to the futuristic landscape depicted in Cyberchase and his eyes naturally fell upon the sight of PALKIA as pink tears in the fabric of space tore open. From the distance where he was standing across the frozen, open chasm, it was impossible to see exactly who Palkia had aligned itself with — if it had aligned itself with anyone — but there was no doubt in his mind which faction the God had chosen.

[break][break] LEAGUE.

[break][break] HATRED fiery hot lanced it's way up his spine as disappointment and disgust combined in his heart. Yet another loss to the League.

[break][break] Suddenly, in that moment, it doesn't matter. Doesn't matter that Fern is next to him, doesn't matter all the training that THEO BECKETT and Elisabeth Fiorelli have spent on him. He can feel nothing but the hostility that burns a crater in his chest, as his hair cauterizes to blistering white.

[break][break] His eyes pierces like a spear towards the sight of Remiel Calcifet in the air, engaged in battle with mint frost and MARILYN HASEGAWA, alongside freya morningstar.

[break][break] Zev Harcourt calls for his attention, but the requests goes numb in the face of a more important struggle. His voice rings with the cold authority of the CURSED. "It seems that Underboss Fiorelli has it handled," he reports into the comm as his Dragapult sweeps out from under him, carrying him into the air. "Rockets! If you're nearby, assist Elisabeth Fiorelli in her fight with Eva Morales."

[break][break] A brief nod towards fern delaney has him nodding, a silent 'I'll be back' before Jayden teleports away with PHANTOM FORCE.

[break][break] Shadows coalesce in the air just behind Remiel Calcifet, using the distraction of the two other Rockets to his advantage. As THEO BECKETT mentioned, the battle was far from over. Kyurem still wreaked havoc, even without the presence of it's UNBOUND HOOPA captor. But the cyclone of pink energy from PALKIA lights up the joints where RESHIRAM fused with the the KYUREM.

[break][break] An ominous beacon for Remiel Calcifet and his Zekrom.

[break][break] Or in this moment, a prophecy that Rocket's jayden cross seeks to fulfill.

[break][break] Immediately.

[break][break] "Remiel Calcifet," his voice booms, from beside the admin, ice coalescing in his palm. "IT'S TIME YOU MEET YOUR JUDGEMENT."

[break][break] Phantom light forms a fist in the icy air as his Dragapult's SUCKER PUNCH plunges towards the Exacting and his patron, attempting to shove both Remiel Calcifet and Zekrom towards KYUREM'S gaping maw.

The devil's face does not change. It merely observes, amused, as humans make their own musings.

[break][break] It is such an entertaining thing, to watch lesser creatures, wrap themselves in their own vines. As if they don't realize the very trap that they are making.

[break][break] "Ah? So am I to understand, fern delaney, you know what my "ends" are? Pray tell."

[break][break] Despite the heat and anger that radiates undeniably off the other, Dmitri remains steady and sure. His eyes never waver, drowning the other man in seas of endless red.

[break][break] The idea that he is threatening them though does make him arch a brow.

[break][break] "Threatening you? I would never dare," he says, sounding a little aghast at the prospect. "As you said, you are an admin. Unlike you, I know my place."

[break][break] He smiles congenially then, lips carved into the shape of a crescent moon.

[break][break] "Consider this just a piece of advice from a caring father. After all, there's nothing I want more than my son's continued happiness."

[break][break] He straightens then, and the shadows pull with him. It is uncanny the way that Dmitri cares himself, exuding malevolence and confidence in a simple gesture. The lights in the room flicker into dark and then the sight of another man enters the room. Brilliant white hair and scarlet red eyes, and an undeniably arrogant face that fern delaney would understand so well.

[break][break] Dmitri saunters forward, boney fingers curling around the curve of Fern's shoulder. He leans forward, lowering his breath to the other's ear.

[break][break] So it was true. His little jay bird had chosen a clever one, one that was far more clever than his son had ever been. But still, he liked to play. His lip curled into a smile, as if seeming to enjoy the exchange, as if it was pleasing to his eye to see the other to be vexed in such a way.

[break][break] "Am I?" he asked, bemused, as he took another sip of his drink. "I don't believe so. Do you really think an Admin of Rocket and Avatar could be manipulated in such way?" He shakes his head, voice slightly chiding. "Honestly, what is it that they are teaching you children these days?"

[break][break] Sinister eyes gleam, the reflection of a bone-white smile behind a sea of endless red. A warning.

[break][break] His voice lowers dangerously, dipping into shadow, as he places his glass onto the table behind him.

[break][break] Dmitri feigns innocence, a natural predatory charm seeping through. Luring his prey in with the sweetest of deceptions. He smiles easily as he turns, gesturing with a hand gloved in black leather to the seat across from them.

[break][break] "Please, sit. Your home is my home. Let me pour you a drink."

[break][break] He walks over to the opposite end of the room where he has placed a variety of drinks. He takes one of the bottles, a fine bourbon imported from Sinnoh, and pours it into two empty glasses. He sets one atop the office desk, beneath two coasters.

[break][break] For his own drink, he holds to his lips as he leans against the back end of the table, legs crossed languidly.

Jayden knows his brother is right. The wound declan walsh's Darkrai gave him burns in reminder, everything inside of him burns, and it is only the presence of his brother - the love of his brother - that keeps him steady.

[break][break] "I know you're right," he says, eyes darting away. "But I wish you weren't." He swallows. "It hurts."

[break][break] These days, everything hurts.

[break][break] He tenses as the scolding that he knows is coming hits the air. He was reckless and foolish and everything Cillian Quinn is saying is him reminding him of that very fact. Yet something inside of him aches, clawing it's way to the service.

[break][break] "But you didn't ...!" Love him like I did, be hurt by him like I did. But instead he shakes his head, knowing for a fact that Cillian is right. He is always right. "I'm sorry. You're right." He takes a shuddering breath and his eyes flicker back to their normal violet hue. "I won't die for a foolish cause." Purpled, like bruises, as he stares down at his clenched fists on his knees for several moments.

[break][break] Then he glances back up at him again.

[break][break] "Is this what it was like when you became Avatar?" he says again, voice full of pain. He lifts his right hand, palm outward to his brother. The melted ice there reveals skin, reddened and bloody raw, as if he had spent the last several days clawing his way out of rock and stone. "Everything inside of me hurts, Cillian," he says by way of explanation. "And the only thing that makes it better is the thought that those who deserve it are dead."

[break][break] His eyes are pleading when he looks at him this time, no longer the monster that craved to take control, but the look of a younger brother asking an older one to be heard:

He is so often busy these days, either with missions with Alexei, excursions with mint frost or his own paperwork. But then again, he has always been a workoholic so it should not bother them. No soft blanket (that they knitted for them on their anniversary), no pictures of ghosts (that they helped to photograph with him), no Umbreon hidden in the corner of the room.

At first, it seems like nothing happens. Nothing at all. And then —

[break][break] "Stay back!" His words are sharp, a command that cuts through the air like daggers. It's not without need either — the bare tree branches swing wildly about, as if alive. Suddenly, the pokemon around them stir to life, new fur and scale emerging from what was once stone.

[break][break] Jayden stared, astounded, at the pokemon that appear.

[break][break] Dappled in sunlight, the pokemon were full of striking markings that glowed as beautifully as illumina pokemon. It is so bright and wonderful that it almost makes him want to stay. But they cannot. They are Rockets. They must continue.
