he felt relieved whenever ciel actually showed up. he'd wanted to do so many things with him but... it had all been falling short as of lately. but for now he needed to calm himself. act nonchalant about the conversation they were going to have. prepare to eventually have his heart broken.

sea air was supposed to be good for his recovery. whatever the hell that meant. good for recovery just meant that doctors didn't know how to help him anymore.

not that he cared. at least he could breath out here. even if he was stuck in a shitty wheelchair. his hands playing with his poryphone he hoped that ciel had gotten his message. he hoped that maybe he was still interested in showing up.

It had been some time and Glitch had nearly dozed off in his wheelchair. It sucked being on medication and sick all of the time. But still he jolted awake once Joycon shocked him a bit. He had fucked up. But it was fine. Rubbing his face a bit he yawned. "Now... If anyone is missing pieces, you can try and convince others to trade with you so that you can continue into the next round." He felt bad for missing most of that last round. But he'd just watch it on the replays while they were putting their fossils together or something.

Now that everyone was here they could get started! After all that was the point of this whole thing. To get these people some gym badges! "Well! Now that that's over with!" He pressed a button to reveal the excavation zones. They were the same as last time of course. High cave walls, under the water and of course a hole in the ground. But he was sure they would figure it out on what they wanted to do. "All you need to do is find three pieces of fossil! A head, a middle, and a tail! One, two three!" That's all then needed to do at least. "You can continue digging until time is up regardless of how many pieces you find. Just in case something happens." And that something could be anything really.

finally someone who was listening to him. who believed him. he couldn't talk to melody like he used to and how could he tell anyone any of this. he had no one anymore. he had nothing but rocket and his own pokemon.

glitch cared more about his pokemon than he did most people nowadays. especially with everything that had been going on. and he wasn't about to let someone kill it over a gym badge.

so he did the sensible thing. he withdrew jerky with the flick of his wrist back to the pokeball.

he was glad that gavin was on board with the idea. especially since he'd thought that it was kind of crazy himself as he was saying it out loud.

"i... i'm so tired gavin. everything is exhausting and i can't move around like i used to. even if they get me the prosthetic im a liability in the field. league keeps offering me one and im worried about what they'll put on it. and i'm worried that if i don't take it and show up with one from the rocket labs they'll start to question things." paranoid was more the word but that wasn't the point.

"if we can destroy league credibility after we've taken sootopolis like we did then... it'll be a step forward. people might see it as a retaliation if the gym leader who supports the takeover goes missing. not everyone will believe it but if enough people do then they'll start to talk and dissolve the structure they've built."

he nodded to himself, taking a deep breath. "i'll do a couple more challenges a couple more large ones for sure, then i'll do my bit..." and they would have to see where they could go from there.

"everything! do you know how scary it was out there for someone like me?" it was impossible to explain to someone who didn't experience what he did daily how terrifying it was. how hard it was to know where you could turn and not knowing for how long you could. his voice raised for the first time in a long time he didn't know how to explain how secure rocket had made him feel. how safe, albeit fucking smelly, the sub was for him. how even though he had a league funded apartment part of him missed being under the sea like this.

"the world is a terrible place melody, and the league doesn't care that it is. rocket doesn't care that it is. no one fucking cares! something has to change and break at some point... and i just want to feel safe when it does." and that safety was in the lab with Lulu Flint _ or sleeping next to a window where fish swam past him every night. he was hiding from the world down here. he realized that as he started his little rant. but he didn't care. hiding was a part of survival after all.

his own tactics used against him. that kind of fucking blowed to be honest. he liked using blizzard to cause chaos when weather effects or water effects were around.

It was another day and yet another one of his mass badge competitions. It was more fun to do this as a group than it was for the one on one battles. At least that was how he figured it. With his competitors lining up and getting ready to go it was all he could do to not be super excited. From his chair he waved as they came in, staying comfortably seated for obvious reasons. With a dreepy on his shoulder helping to look over the proceedings. "Hello and welcome! Normally I would stand and greet you but given the status of myself I'll be staying seated." Of course it wasn't a secret anymomre that he'd lost a leg but that wasn't the point!
