"i've barely got shore leave as it is, especially with my gym leader duties and with my... accident. but i'll see what i can do." not to mention having to do things for rocket and working on developing the pulse watch and accompanying website. it was a lot to be done and not a lot of time to do it in. the accident had pushed his drive into overtime for getting things done at least. a far cry from his procrastination.

he nodded when ciel asked if he would like help back to the shade. it was hot as hell out here and he hated sitting in the sun. but moving around was difficult as it was. but if ciel was the one offering help he wasn't about to turn it down. not when he'd been waiting so long to spend time with him alone. "i'd love to have your number!" it was one of the things he had been working towards after all. he just hadn't been sure how to ask for it himself. but he dug his phone out of his bag and held it up.

the bright thing about being in a wheelchair was that rarely people ever came and asked you any questions. the workers at the arcade didn't want to bother him since he looked pathetic and was also a well known gym leader. well, becoming well known anyways. they were just happy that he was in here spending time to get some eyes on the gym. but, of course he had to have someone walk up.

"oh, it's a nice little secret."

as he said that, a porygon and a dreepy popped their heads out from the machine. causing it to beep and the claw to move towards another one of the plush toys in the machine. glitch would have the entire collection and absolutely no one would stop him.

"i'll win you one if you stay quiet about it."

he shook his head when gavin asked if he knew a lot about the meltan. he didn't really. he'd been meaning to do a bit of research but of course now that one of them had popped out of the leg that had come off.

"it came out of my leg yeah. apparently it had been feeding on the iron in my blood and that was what made it that color or whatever." apparently that happened sometimes that pokemon had weird shiny mutations.

"he hasn't done anything violent yet so i've been letting him hang around. he likes eating my cutlery when i'm done with it."

he sighs and rubs the back of his neck a bit. "how are things out there?" since he hadn't been allowed out of the room he needed to get his news from somewhere.

he'd forgotten that basil had recently moved to the area. it seemed as if everyone from his past was starting to bubble to the surface. it made him a little bit nervous really. especially since he was working with rocket. it was likely if shit went down he'd have to deal with heartbreak one way or another. he'd dealt with melody dying once and he didn't want to deal with it again.

"i don't have a set date yet, we're still in development. but i'll send you an email and we call all meet up at my apartment for some downtime anyways. have you been to mossdeep yet?" since that was where he was hanging out nowadays. he pulled out his phone to give casey his number so that he could get in contact.

if the two ghosts were going to play together then there was no reason for them to really consider this much of a battle. not when poor fudge was happily asleep and even giving out a little ghostly snore. not the attack mind you, just a regular snore. "it's been a bit difficult getting around... but i've been having fun!" for the most part anyways. he was waiting on prosthetics to come in and for testing to be finished on his leg before he could really do much. but his pokemon had been a big help to him. something he was grateful for. "it's been a nice change from being on bed rest..." something he couldn't stand. "and the doctors said i should be able to start my shots again soon...ish."

"i wear fuzzy pj's to bed. they're warm and i get cold easily." especially lately. but he didn't want to talk about how tired he was all the time or how cold he was all the time. there were more important things to worry about.

"how about you swing by the gym sometime and i'll give you a rundown? it's going to be a tech advertisement though so i hope you're ready. i'm going to try and get melody to model it too. it'll be like a family thing!" what he didn't mention was that it was also extremely a rocket thing as well. but that wasn't the point right now.

he didn't like thinking about family back home. especially not when none of them had believed in him to begin with. but they could deal with his success in the best of ways by getting to see him in magazines and hyped up beyond belief by strangers.

when Casey Fincher offered him what sounded like an extremely ugly colored jacket glitch had to wrinkle his nose. he might have been in a wheelchair but there was no way in hell he was going to dress like an ugly now. "no thanks. i'm super picky with my clothes and track suits aren't really my thing. thanks though." he wouldn't want to wear something super ugly even if it was comfortable. "i could use your help though if you're looking for modeling work. i'm coming up with a line of fashionable smart watches and i want all the models i can get." they weren't ready yet and still in development. but that didn't mean they couldn't start marketing yet.

"my parents have called me a couple of times but i send it right to voicemail. which means they get to hear me detail how to go about challenging me at my gym." they wanted something from him. like money or attachment to his name. but they'd never liked his name before or to use it. so why should they get to now?
