the dangled RED SHARD taunts him with sweet whispers and false promises of powers that would inevitably lead to his demise. they may pray for his downfall but he will do what he has always done.

he will overcome and survive because that is what he demands—not groudon, not the league, but he himself.

his eyes widen in faux shock as the RED SHARD is tossed into the sea of lava. what result she sought to gain would forever be lost, drowned in red. Elisabeth Fiorelli forgets that this is his domain. she is nothing more than a guest, invited into the warmth only to cast it aside with her cold bitterness.

he clicks his tongue, disappointed.

"you're so predictable."

the RED SHARD never sinks in. it floats curiously on the surface as though held in place, suspended by the will of the universe.

"you're insane," he laughs, "but that's why i love you."

his other hand slowly lifts, and with it, the lava parts for a bit of earth to lift the RED SHARD, carrying it to where it rightfully belongs.
