“I…” Quinn did in fact enjoy swimming up river, often doing it every morning before work. He remained silent though on the matter, realizing that the dispute wasn’t relevant to their current situation. “I’m not a trainer, I don’t know how to battle!” He couldn’t remember the last time he’d been in a legitimate Pokémon battle, likely since his earlier years of attending Slateport University.

He watched as the primate Pokémon tumbled down the cliffside, cast aside by the mighty Gust summoned by Driftloon. “Okay, uhm...use Sing!” Cirrus swooped down the cliff, belting out a chirping lullaby the entire way down. A few monkeys were caught in the wake of the sleep-inducing song, dropping to the ground in a deep snooze. Other dusted themselves off and screeched loudly, determined to get after the trainers.

“Blossom will be fine, she has a hard head.” Quinn teased the Cherrim, watching as the Pokemon puffed her cheeks out in impish defiance. “No need to worry, I don’t plan on changing the weather.” At least not yet, not until Project Delta was completed. Comfey sprung into action with Floral Healing despite the superficial nature of the wound, though he wasn’t about to deny the Posy Picker Pokémon the satisfaction.

“I’m Quinn.” A hand was offered towards Soleil that wasn’t currently restraining the wriggling Cherrim from running off again, a friendly smile adorning his lips. “I’m assuming you live here? Me and Blossom are visiting from Fortree City, ourselves.”

    Quinn jumped slightly at the sound of her voice. “O-oh, hey!” There she was, just as beautiful as he remembered. “Thanks for coming, Aria.” He smiled, an embarrassed flush on his cheeks, faint but noticeable.

    He glanced towards the truck at her mention, opening the door to allow her entrance inside. “Belongs to the Weather Institute, for mobile storm observation.” The door closed behind them as they entered with the force of the wind. “No windows for safety, but…”

    A few keys were tapped at the control center and the wall opposite them illuminated with the external view of the truck, almost as though there was a window. The wall was lined with a seamless ceiling-to-floor monitor displaying a camera feed from outside. “...the view is still nice.”

    Ominous clouds hung in the sky over the Mauville-adjacent route, dark and menacing with the promise of an impending storm on the horizon. Quinn had spent hours setting up the Weather Institute’s severe weather mobile research center, making sure that the ground anchors were set firmly in place.

    “Should be soon...” He muttered to himself as he stepped out of the truck, watching the nearby trees bend and twist with the increasing wind, the rumble of thunder in the distance. There was only one thing missing from the equation, @aria . She agreed to come observe the unexpected storm cell with him, and likely would be arriving before long.

    After their last encounter, Quinn was admittedly nervous to be spending time alone with her again. Would something similar happen this time? There was no doubt in his mind that he’d been thinking about her ever since that day.

    Aria lowered herself to her knees and Quinn was filled with anticipation. He was entirely exposed to her and overt excitement could no longer be hidden behind the veil of fabric. Was this really happening?

    The sound of a phone buzzing, and then a soft sigh snapped him out of his aroused haze, realizing that this wouldn’t be happening after all. A shiver runs through his body as she flicked her tongue against him, a tease of what could have been.

    “O-oh.” He followed her lead and began to dress himself, flustered and suppressed by the unceremonious end to their liaison. “I uhm...was too..”

    “P-pretty?” Quinn didn’t think he’d ever been called that before, becoming more flustered by the moment in the presence of this near-stranger. When Temp draped an arm around him, he tensed slightly, not because he wasn’t receptive to the contact, but because he was nervous.

    “O-oh, I uhm...don’t usually go on any dates.” He admitted, not usually able to find time considering how busy the Weather Institute kept him, especially lately.

    “I’m single, if that's what you’re uhm...asking…” Crimson deepened on his cheeks, suddenly realizing this could turn from simple flirting into an intimate rendezvous should Temp so desire.

A quick nod was given in response to her request, utterly transfixed by her seductive tone. His hands fumbled with the fabric for a moment before undoing the button and zipper, sliding the pants down at her behest.

Quinn waited expectantly for her next move or command on baited breath, knowing he was entirely in her hands to do with what she pleased.

There was a moment where time slowed to a crawl, delighting in her passionate embrace for as long as humanly possible before being forced to pull away. Breath was heavy as he looked into their eyes, conveying desire through his own.

“I don’t uhm...usually...do this…” A nervous chuckle escaped his lips as he assured her that this wasn't a common theme with him and colleagues, hands lingering on her waist for a moment before advancing upwards. Gentle fingers slid up towards the bottom button of her shirt, tugging either ends of the fabric to begin pulling them loose, one by one.

“We’re also working on climate re-...” Quinn jumped slightly as the hands covered his eyes mid-sentence, having been posed the question of who was behind him. The voice was easily recognizable, but he decided to play along with the clues that Aria provided. “Hmm, I don’t know. Young, red hair and energetic? Could it be Yui Fujin Silph ?”

He turned and offered a friendly smile towards Kohen. “Hey there!” Quinn glanced towards Aria, realizing he should introduce them. “Aria, this is my friend @oakly . Kohen, this is my friend and research partner @aria .”

    She places her hand against his midsection and feels a jolt of electricity surge through his body, utterly tantalized by her gentle touch. For a moment, his breath became caught in his chest, not daring to exhale until she pulled her fingers away. “Thanks…”

    Quinn stood up now, stepping close to Aria with a crimson clinging to his cheeks. As oblivious as he was when it came to romance, he couldn’t deny the signs were there. A hand was placed on each of her hips, drawing her gently into his body. “...I…”

    He leaned down and pressed his lips to hers suddenly, unable to resist the magnetic pull of her beauty and grace.

    “Yeah!” Excitement registered in his eyes, overtaking the nervousness of seeing her again in such a casual scenario. Quinn stepped towards the booth, allowing Lucy to stand to the side once more. “I’m sure you know that we’ve been working on a weather machine, but we’ve made exciting development on the prototype recently.”

    A hand gestured towards one of the monitors, the same bright smile on his face as always. “We project that we could actually able to change the course of hurricanes, refusing them landfall entirely. Even more interesting is the potential to dissipate them before they even form, should we have enough meteorological data to predict their generation.”

    Arms crossed over his chest, pleased with how far the project was coming with his supervision. “Could potentially save thousands of people from losing their homes, should a bad enough storm come.” Quinn shrugged slightly, letting out a small sigh. “Or rather, hundreds of thousands of dollars in infrastructure repair, according to the League.”

“Lectures?” He’d been so excited to set up a booth for the Weather Institute that he hadn’t even considered looking at who had been speaking today. “O-of course I will.” Thankfully she revealed the disappointment as a joke, washing away embarrassment with relief.

“Good to see you too.” He gestured with a hand and waved towards the booth where Lucy was standing watch, the Gardevoir pretending not to see him. “I’m right over there. We’re showing off Project Delta, or at least that we have prepared so far.”

Swimming was out of the question for today anyways, he was far too excited about the potential to track down a legendary Pokémon and far too naïve to understand what she was attempting to convey. “Oh, uhm...s-sure.”

Quinn moved his hand away as she leaned in closer, feeling the heat return to his cheeks as he allowed her access to his torso.
