    “Sounds good to me!” Quinn said with an excited smile, stepping quickly to follow after Kohen and keep pace with them. “Well, I’m kind of already living my dream, to be honest. I got my Doctorate in Meteorology a few months ago and I’ve been working for the Weather Institute ever since.” Ever since he was a child he’d had a fascination with the weather and how it affected the world around him, being able to study these phenomena for a living was the culmination of all his childhood fantasies.

    Hobbies, however, were a more difficult subject for him to broach. Quinn spent most of his waking hours at the Weather Institute the last few weeks, immersed in the strange hurricanes that had been appearing around Hoenn, leaving little time for extracurricular activities. “Hobbies...hmm...I like watching movies, swimming, video games, reading and music!” A few of them were common hobbies that any one person could have, but he didn’t want to leave Kohen hanging because he was self-conscious about the commonality of liking music.

    “O-oh, I'm uhm...single.” Heat rushed into his cheeks once more at the declaration, glad that he was a couple paces behind Kohen so it wasn’t obvious. “How about you?” Quinn had intended this to be all encompassing for all of the questions Kohen had previously asked, but the timing could easily be misconstrued as asking if they were also available.

“Legendary…” The thought hadn’t crossed Quinn’s mind until she mentioned the enigmatic Pokemon. “It could be!” Fumbling through the bag once again, he placed a laptop on the table and began to frantically type, the shine of determination in his eyes. “There are a few associated with storms…”

Quinn was silent for a few moments while he compiled a list, making sure he cross checked everything before speaking again. “Thundurus, Tornadus, Kyogre, Raikou and Lugia.” An eyebrow raised as he went over known depictions of the legends, suddenly turning the laptop around to show an ancient carving of the one known as Lugia on his screen. “The shape is similar, don't you think?”

“Sounds like a good idea!” Quinn actually had no idea how to successfully stop a forest fire, assuming that their suggestion would work simply because he had nothing better to go on. “Usually wildfires like these are caused by wild Pokemon, so we’ll need to find which one and calm it down.” Sheets of rain crashed against the flames, helping stem the flow of flames but only creating more smoke in the process. “Make sure you don’t breathe in the smoke!” Quinn called out towards the stranger as he started jogging off towards the flames, wrapping a scarf from his messenger bag around his face.

Traversing the forest was difficult between the heat and acrid smoke, making sure to keep the Castform close so they wouldn’t get separated. “Doppler, Weather Ball!” Doppler exhaled a small sigh and began to generate a sphere of water in front of him, sending it crashing forward into a mass of flames. “Path is clear up here!” He pushed forward with the Castform, hoping that @tadashiootori was still following behind.

Quinn nodded in response to her skeptical question. “That was the first thing I did.” He didn’t want to take any chances on passing along false information, especially with something of such importance. “This is the original and unedited image, taken from Fallarbor Town”

There was a moment of hesitation as he inspected the image once more, before offering a small shrug. “I was hoping you might have an idea.”

“Oh man.” Quinn noticed the scuffle between Primeapes and Passimian rather quickly, unable to ignore the sounds of screeching from the combat. “Cirrus!” The Swablu soared in from overhead, landing on his shoulder as he approached another individual whose attention had been captured. “Hello!” Quinn smiled at the stranger, who upon closer inspection was rather attractive. This was the second handsome individual he’d met by chance on Route 119, perhaps he should eat his lunch outside more often. “We should do something to help, someone will get hurt if this spills over onto the main path.” He paused for a moment, realizing he hadn’t even introduced himself. “I’m Quinn, by the way.”

“Cirrus, can you distract some of them?” His Swablu let out a cheerful trill before taking off into flight once more. Cirrus swooped down low over the scene of the battle, releasing a powerful cry that managed to cut through some of the screeches and getting the attention of a couple of Primeape. “Wait, wait, wait!” What Quinn didn’t expect was for the Swablu to immediately fly back towards them, leading the two back towards himself and Casey. “I hope you’re ready.” Two rampaging Pokemon were barreling down upon them, and he was relying on their Drifloon to intervene in some way.

“Yeah, not really used to being called ‘doctor’ yet.” Quinn admitted, with some embarrassment.

“Originally, I thought the same but I don’t know of any one Pokemon that can generate a storm that strong, let alone multiple existing of the same species.” A new document was produced from the messenger bag, set atop the one Aria already had. “I did some crawling through social media using the locations as tags and found this.”

In the uppermost cloud above the storm, a set of crimson eyes stared back from the darkness. What could be made out was the shadow of what appeared to be wings in the cloud formation, as well as a tail, though it was difficult to discern with the shadows of the cloud itself.

“Ohh, that makes sense.” Quinn nodded slightly, hoping the question hadn’t inadvertently offended her. “You can call me Quinn, by the way.” Only a few months had passed since getting his doctorate, and it was still strange to hear others call him ‘Doctor Riley’.

“You’d be correct.” A manila folder was slid across the surface towards her, detailing information about the weather patterns moments leading up to the hurricanes that wouldn’t have made the event possible. “I’m thinking that a Pokémon may be causing them.” Should she explore deeper into the folder, data was gathered about the strength of the storms as well. “It’s stronger than any application of Rain Dance I've ever seen, and couldn’t possibly be attributed to Drizzle either. I was hoping you might have some insights.”

“I’ll take some water, thanks!” Quinn walked inside and closed the door behind him, setting his messenger bag down on a nearby surface. “Does Professor Jabami really let you guys have alcohol on the job?” Wasn’t exactly pertinent to the reason he’d come, but he couldn’t imagine getting away with that at the Weather Institute. “I wanted to see you because of your dissertation about weather-changing Pokemon.”

Quinn took a seat opposite his colleague, searching through his bag for the specific file he’d brought along with him. “Have you heard about the hurricane that appeared on Route 113?”

Recently Hoenn had been subjected to a series of strange hurricanes appearing around the region, seemingly random and never able to be traced to a meteorological source. Route 113 was the most recent victim of the destruction caused by these spontaneous storms, and he was being pressured to discover the cause. “Excuse me.” Quinn approached the reception desk of the Littleroot research facilities, acquiring the attention of the secretary behind the counter. “I’m here to meet with Aria Collier, is she in?”

“One moment.” She tapped at the keyboard for a moment before looking at him once more. “Doctor Riley?” Quinn nodded with a friendly smile, reaching forward to accept the visitor badge from her. “Her office is down that way.” He made his way down the hallway, eventually locating the office with her name, knocking on the doorframe with the smile still plastered on his face. “Hello! Hope, I didn’t catch you at a bad time!”

“H-handsome?” A crimson flush rushed into his cheeks at the compliment, not used to being flirted with, especially by someone so attractive. “Thanks, you’re...uhm...pretty cute yourself.” Quinn wished he could be nearly as smooth as Kohen was while attempting to return the flirtations, but he didn’t really have much experience. “I’m Quinn.” He offered a shy smile while reaching out to take their calloused hand into his own, untouched by hard labor unlike Kohen’s, giving a cordial shake before returning to his side.

“I’ve been really craving a burger, to be honest. They don’t make them nearly as good in Fortree as they do in the big city.” A small chuckle escaped from his lips, rubbing the back of his head with a hand. “Would you mind showing me where I can get a good one?” Slateport outside of the University was largely a mystery to him, having focused on his studies when he attended the doctorate program. Besides, this could be a good excuse to spend more time with Kohen, which seemed extremely appealing right now.

    Quinn had spent a great deal of his morning converting one of the board rooms into a suitable space to conduct a friendly interview, wanting his guest to be comfortable for the duration. Complimentary snacks and drinks had been set on the side of the table where Locke Jamison would be sitting, an arrangement of different items to suit a variety of tastes. Perhaps he was going slightly overboard on the hospitality, but Quinn couldn’t help being excited about being able to speak to someone who was actually present at the meteorological event that took place on Route 113.

    Sufficient research had been done to learn as much as he could about the young postman, wanting to get acquainted with their credentials before calling them to the Weather Institute. “Doctor Riley?” A voice snapped Quinn out of his fastidious preparation, turning towards the secretary standing in the doorway. “Locke Jamison is here to see you.” Quinn smiled brightly and gave her a nod of thanks, walking over to the other side of the room to begin adjusting the video camera. “Thank you, you can send them in!”

    “Mr. Jamison, right this way.”
