"i don't like that. what a heavy, ugly word." dahlia frowns at 'wetworks'. she shakes her head as if expelling the ugly sanguine moistness from her hair.

"in any case," her eyes flicker from the meltan to thomas, words stalling from distraction, "you'll have to act in the shadows. be aware, you will be the only one of its kind within the hoennian government."

it is quiet here. despite the miracle of re-life and the occasional white noise of some pulsing primal piece, the gravity of their discussion mutes all sound, save for the voice.

"effectively, you'll be alone."

"don't belittle yourself like that, wynter." "you already have. just remember," she pushes herself from the desk to stand, heels clacking sharp within the space of a sudden heartbeat, "you have us now."

with porcelain precision, her finger finds her desk's pushbutton. before them, the doors open from the other side.

"keep your lines open," dahlia waves from her wrist-up, "kazimir."

before she enters, dahlia is quick to recall her stoutland into its ball. the large mop of dog phases away in muted red. a tail of red whips back into the capsule as the door opens, her own white parasol wrapped tight with the click of a small white button.

she waits for her guest- but she does not need to wait long. as he enters, dahlia stands and reveals her damp jacket folded neatly over her seat.

"mr. wledig! no, no, i just arrived." dahlia smiles, her hand extending past the white curtain of her sleeve. "it is a pleasure to meet you— and your riolu too."

she takes her seat, sweeping low to its wooden plane.

"and how are you this evening? enjoying the rain?"

THE UNOWN floats around with little law or organization. It seems to follow an everchanging orbit, black body restless after being stuck within a dead flesh prison.

Before Eva Morales extends her hand, the UNOWN seemingly attempts to TELEPORT. What appears to be a vein or a rift begins to form below in flat 2D-shape— but it fails to materialize. Purring, the Unown instead, hovers over to the scientist's hand.

"do you think," Dahlia hushes her voice, lest the Pokemon hear her, "this is what killed it? i mean, piggie smalls."

For now, the UNOWN seems compliant. Friendly. It offers gratitude to the scientist who has liberated it from the dead.

"don't belittle yourself like that, wynter." dahlia smacks the top of her papers. "you're the pokkenger! the people of hoenn love you! and trust me, bearing avatarship from some fantastical pokemon may be more of a curse than a blessing."

her eyes grow wide as her head shakes off the notion. more and more reports of hoennians attempting to earn favour from some mythical pokemon have been coming in. some record their efforts. others scam those equal parts naive and ambitious.

"feel free to continue your heroics." dahlia says. "however, do remember, you're a part of us now. understood?" she smiles. "you might very well be the next poster child of hoenn after councilman kim cole-essam."

DR EVA & DAHLIA

YESSS. Dahlia actually needs some friends or stronger connections in the League's institutions (because I don't RP her as much as my other two characters). I was thinking Eva would be a great great relationship, especially with how they're bonding in PATHOLOGY, which by the way, is due for a post this weekend according to my inner schedule POG.

In any case, I think we can build upon that relationship with Dahlia coming out on any on-field things with Eva and of course the larger site plot at hand. She'd also be a good emotional support (at her home in Ever Grande) should Eva ever need it :triumph:.

I'll prioritize our research thread and then we can move onto a social perhaps!!

dahlia shrugs, resting her confused head onto her palm. "i'm no biologist, thomas." she steps forward to coo at the meltan briefly.

for all of thomas' solemnity and business, to see him soften before cute things—mostly audino—tugs at the heart.

"we should. in any case, i guess you've found a new friend." dahlia squats, resting an arm across her knees. "actually, that reminds me. thomas, i wanted to propose something to you."

standing back tall, her gaze occasionally flickers toward the new creation before settling on thomas with firm focus.

"we've been developing our intelligence services— and we are in need of positions being filled." dahlia hums. "being an elite four member is certainly fitting for you— but perhaps, you would be best as a splinter cell instead?"

EVA'S CAUTION is interrupted by the creature that bursts out of the spoink's stomach. the commissioner screams, backing up into a nearby counter's hard edge. her hands remain webbed across her mouth as she stares at the pokemon that departs the corpse's gut.

an unown-f has emerged from the stomach, coated in gastric juices and half-digested particulate. it seems entirely unphased by the filth. its singular eye blinks at the doctor and the commissioner, white sclera flashing black. like a birthed child gaining sense of its new world, the unown floats around in confused circles.

perhaps, it's searching for something or someone. upon closer inspection, Eva Morales would notice small red dust on its body.

WHEN THE SPOINK IS CUT INTO, dr. morales' careful incision to ensure that nothing inside is accidentally sliced... might not be needed. when she opens the cavity, she would discover something peculiar. it is not a horrific sight, per se, but it is one that causes the jaw to drop due to its incredulity.

what she sees is something she has not ever encountered in her career— nor has she heard of such a thing happening in her studies. a clean line of the spoink's inner organs are gone. cleanly removed. no tearing, no cut... it's as if a portion of the spoink's guts has been sectioned off and removed without anything ever having had touched it. physically.

apart from this, the spoink shows signs of something akin to that of alcohol poisoning. it's as if the energy has been introduced into the body in vast amounts and with incredible speed, overwhelming the system.

as dr. morales continues, something moves in the stomach.

she says, flipping through the leaves of her paperwork. they whisper as they billow up and down before settling underneath the weight of previous pages.

"if you agree to this opportunity, there is one stipulation you must know." dahlia's hand smooths out the top title page. "should you become an avatar, you must report to me— and be assigned as a member of the initiative. the choice is yours, pokkenger."

"oh shush. everyone's interesting." dahlia casts away the idea, hand winging through the mountain mists.

although pyre's solemn colors may soften one's silhouette into a drab, vague shape, the commissioner is deliberate with her energy. she attempts to brighten conversation with her body, the colour of her hair, the luminosity of her voice.

"we can ask each other questions." dahlia says. "what's your favourite pokemon type?" answer carefully. this reveals quite a bit."

she tilts her head at him, a mischievous curve to her lips.

"depends on your perspective." dahlia says, shoes still pointed together. "i call it community service."

finally, she breaks from her stance. leaning over to her desk, she unsheathes the first slip of her notepad. below, an altered contract is unearthed.

"for a period of time, the pokkenger will act as a proxy of the aqua initiative." dahlia lifts herself onto the desk with her palms. with legs crossed, she sets the stack of papers on her lap. "use of his services, his image... community service."
