The person she was speaking to seemed to open her mouth, about to respond. Instead, a voice echoed down the way as someone claimed to have done her hair. Summer raised a brow, looking past the people for a moment to try and catch sight of whoever it was, with no true avail until she cleared the models walking in front of her.[break][break]

Then it seemed to make sense. The short pink hair, and this woman's hair... though her hair was dark, there was a streak of bubblegum pink flashing in the light. It was all similar.[break][break]

She could only assume the bright streak matched an equally bright personality. Summer hoped that she could at least make it through the day without sickeningly sweet positivity.[break][break]

"Summer Prescott. And you?" she asked, tapping one glittered nail against her bottle.

In recent attempt to broaden her business approach to more than what Merrick Prescott left her, Summer Atreides had entered the fashion industry in full force. And it was far from silent. There were already posts in business media about the Prescott Industries CEO branching further into new territories.[break][break]

She'd seen comments about how stupid it was for her to do this. It was unwise for someone trained to handle information, money, and trade to go into something seemingly different. But, as she recalled talking to Gunner one night...[break][break]

"I think that'd be very fun for you," he said. She remembered him holding her close and kissing her shoulder, reminding her not to worry.[break][break]

It would be fun, Summer decided. She even told him that she was starting to move forward with the idea, attending more fashion shows and attempting to buy more items for the shop she was going to construct. Right now, she was in the Upper District with several of her old clothes, or some she'd never worn herself, to dress a model for a show.[break][break]

Her phone buzzed, and she looked down. Opening it, she saw Gunner's reply. "That's great. Good luck," he said. She couldn't help the small smile on her lips, sending back an emote before putting her phone away and settling at her designated spot and drinking some water.[break][break]

She caught sight of the woman next to her, with quite an interesting style of hair. "Your hair. Who did it?" Summer asked, crossing her legs over each other as she waited for the models to arrive.

Summer's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, her hand gripping a bit tighter to betray that emotion. But as Callan explained, it made sense to her.[break][break]

She knew there was no way in the world she'd be a perfect mother. Hell, she may not even be a good mother. But she'd be damned if she didn't try for this little one. She was going to try her hardest.[break][break]

"You're right. I suppose I'm more afraid of turning out to be like my father. I never grew up with a mother figure in my life. I had maids and ladies in my home, but they weren't mothers. So what I fear is I won't be able to be an actual mother, since it's been... I don't know twenty plus years since mine left my life."[break][break]

It was a known fact that Mrs. Prescott had died after knox prescott was born. But the circumstances of her true death weren't known to the public.[break][break]

Summer paused to sip her water and bite into her rice dish, swallowing a bit. It felt good, to get some of this off of her chest. She continued to eat, though she made eye contact with Callan as he talked about his production and music. She smiled, nodding. "I look forward to hearing anything new."[break][break]

Though she didn't press about the problems he claimed were fine. If he didn't wish to speak on them, it wasn't Summer's place to force him.[break][break]

She set her utensils down, wiping her mouth delicately before she spoke. "I am happy with how things were before. And, should things ever change... I wouldn't mind having it that way again. I don't plan on my future changing at the moment, but I want to clarify."[break][break]

Summer tilted her head, gathering the right words before she spoke. "I didn't want anyone to get the wrong impression. I've been seen as an attention whore much of my life. Settling down with someone, it hadn't been my style. Relationships, feelings... I've always found them fleeting." It made her think of Casey, when he had disappeared for months on end without word and how she couldn't bare to do that again.[break][break]

"I suppose I wanted to ensure that everything was clear and not taken out of context. Because I didn't want you to believe I was using you to get back at Gunner for something he didn't do. I genuinely want your friendship tonight. Your advice and your shoulder to lean on. Or even just to laugh and spend time with over the stupidest things we can talk about. You're someone I hold onto dearly, Callan, and I want you to know in more than just a physical way."

She opened her lips, to say something along the lines of "Have a nice day," or "Please tell Gunner hello if you see him." However, an invitation greeted her instead. It took her by surprise, though she tried to stifle it as she closed her lips.[break][break]

Originally, Summer had planned to work on a few things for her new business, as far as spreadsheets and expenses went. However...[break][break]

"It'd be my pleasure. Thank you." Surely she could take some time to get to know the eldest Graves brother. After all, her only encounters with him thus far were teasing him endlessly with Elisabeth Fiorelli.[break][break]

She went to the table, setting her marker down and settling in the seat. Her bag rested neatly in the chair beside her, crossing her hands in front of her as Gideon sat with her. "How have things been for you lately? I'm assuming the museum is running smoothly?"

A part of her missed it. The touch, the affection. Not necessarily from Callan, but from her own lover. She wondered when the next time he'd come to her home. Or he'd let her walk into his doors and accept her into his arms.[break][break]

Summer smiled at Callan, allowing him to hold her hand. It was cool, a striking difference from the warm air and sand beneath her feet.[break][break]

"Hmm, I suppose I'll allow that. As long as we agree to switch it each time."[break][break]

Summer, in turn, ordered sautéed vegetables over a bed of rice, her drink of choice simply water. It was boring in comparison to Callan's wine, which she stared at enviously.[break][break]

A small blush crawled over her cheeks, though she offered him a smile in response. "Physically, just tired and nauseous. Though I suppose that comes with the package." She laughed.[break][break]

"Emotionally? I'm a nervous wreck. I'm hoping everything goes smoothly this time. And that I'm a good mother. Everything happened so fast. Gunner and I weren't prepared at all, but he's been very supportive."[break][break]

Though she paused, her gaze flicking to the side hesitantly. Summer decided to push the thought away, instead addressing Callan. "How are things on your end? Are you working on any music at the moment?"

It was to no one's surprise that Summer Atreides was attending Slateport Fashion Week. She was a regular amongst the rich and famous to attend the show, and she was sure to raise hell if she didn't get an invite. It was always her opportunity to see what the newest styles were, who could demonstrate the best skill.[break][break]

Who would get Summer's money next?[break][break]

However, this year, it also served a bit of a different purpose. She was in the works of opening her own clothing business, and many of these creators were the top of the top. She needed their creations in her shop for success with her target audience.[break][break]

But, so far, Summer Prescott was not all that impressed. Her neutral face expressed that much as model after model walked down the runway. With a small sigh, she waved herself with her silk fan, her glittered nails sparkling in the light.[break][break]

Summer's attention broke from the show momentarily to glance at the woman beside her. It was a fair point. She couldn't help but chuckle, a small smirk tugging at her lips.[break][break]

"You're not wrong. I can't say I'm impressed yet."

The orders Walsh instructed rang in Summer's ears as she stepped foot on Route 120. Subdue, not destroy. Prevent the League from succeeding.[break][break]

That could be arranged. So long as no one got in her way, Summer was certain she could find some of her counterparts to accomplish their mission. She just needed to disguise her attempts to appear as if she was helping the League. The CEO of Prescott Industries was, after all, not publicly affiliated with team Rocket.[break][break]

She rolled a Poke ball in hand, standing ready to make her first attack. However, the beast of legend, ZACIAN, was already battle worn against another magnificent creature... one she wasn't sure she knew. And as they clashed, a forceful energy hit her.[break][break]

His voice, echoing in her mind... hands on her shoulder, whispering against her ear. "You were trained for this very moment, Summer. You know what to do." And on her own hands, scarlet dripped down, covering her clothes, her shoes. In front of her, knox prescott was on the ground, eerily still, clinging to samuel carter. And not far, Gunner Graves was looking at her in horror.[break][break]

"Why did you do it? Why did you hurt us?"[break][break]

As quickly as the fear filled her, it seemed to dissipate. But it left her knees shaking, her stomach churning as nausea rose to her throat. "Dammit. Dammit!" she cursed, gathering her courage to strike.[break][break]

But before she could, Summer heard her. Eris Halla. Her stomach dropped, her face growing pale as she turned and spotted the girl running to Ashley Shepard to attack. It wasn't that it was Rocket on Rocket fight that made her panic. "Surtur, attack the mysterious Pokemon. Back me up."[break][break]

It was her.[break][break]

"Eris! No!"

Summer cracked a smile, comforted that he was willing to take this chance with her. To try something new. Not the usual one night stand and drunken splendor. She reached for his hand, taking it gently and leading him to the table where she had been sitting moments before he arrived.[break][break]

Summer let out a laugh, feeling genuine mirth as their usual teasing sprang forth. ”It makes for a dramatic entrance. I say it fits both our styles.”[break][break]

She’d missed him. When had the CEO and the rockstar last seen one another? They had both been caught up in their own little worlds, and somehow, she felt comforted having her friend agree to see her again.[break][break]

Summer’s eyebrow rose as he leaned closer, listening to his words. For a moment, when he spoke Gunner Graves’s name, Summer’s heart fluttered. Then it sank, remembering just how she felt she messed everything up with her defensive tone. The short messages, the inability to see each other now… maybe it was all her fault.[break][break]

”That’s not why I asked you to come here, Callan,” Summer stated plainly. ”I know you know the Summer of the past… and sort of now. The brat, the attention whore. But I wouldn’t do anything to hurt him. Not intentionally.”[break][break]

Her gaze fell for a moment, a moment of weakness before looking back to Callan.[break][break]

”And that’s what I want. I’d like to catch up with you, spend time with you. Perhaps not like the old days… but maybe in a new way.”
