Lulu Flint’s trepidation at abandoning her NOIVERN would be a near-fatal mistake.[break][break]

Though he witnessed the grim scene from afar, there was too large a distance and too many crumbling boulders and cliff edges for BARNABY FINCH to intervene himself. Not in time, anyway. Greyson Connors was out for blood, and it only took minutes for someone to asphyxiate.[break][break]

Instead, Barnaby called on his ALAKAZAM in a last-ditch effort to help Lulu Flint. [break][break]

“Stop him!”[break][break]

Within seconds, the ALAKAZAM had TELEPORTED in range of where the two had tumbled into the dirt. Knowing it was too risky to attack the Elite Four outright, given that Lulu might be caught in the crossfire, instead the Pokemon opted to try and HYPNOTIZE Greyson Connors. Even a slight slackening of his grip might give her the edge she needed to escape.

Excursions into the depths of the chasm created by KYUREM's rampage had kept all in ROCKET on a dizzying schedule. It was a feat simply to have two higher-ups on leave on the same day. [break][break]

But when asked, THEO BECKETT made time to visit BARNABY FINCH's Sootopolis home.[break][break]

The penthouse was perched on an elevated cliff overlooking the bay, where a gorgeous view of the nighttime sea could be appreciated at leisure from the wall of windows in the living room. Barnaby stood here, sipping from a ceramic teacup as the ocean lapped at a rocky shore, tinted an unnatural blue by CALYREX's barrier.[break][break]

"Feel free to have some tea, if you'd like. It's a rose-infused blend. I thought of you when I saw it."

With their mutual understanding established, he'd then give in to her soft demands. Allow himself to be swayed by the unspoken desires her body betrayed in the moment — the way she pressed into him, the slight blush to her cheeks.[break][break]

Elisabeth Fiorelli in his lap, Barnaby's hands grasped the supple flesh at her thighs, coaxing surrender with the way he tempted them apart.[break][break]

Nothing would change between them. She was too intertwined with him now, too deep in her delusion.[break][break]

"You shouldn't be, no. Why let something like jealousy get between us?" He replied, ignoring the way the LECHONK soap bounced off his back and into the water below.[break][break]

BARNABY FINCH turned to face her then, standing to his full height. The sudden cold sent goosebumps up his arms.[break][break]

Excursions into the Giant Chasm and Area Zero had left him away from Sootopolis City for some time. In the depths, BARNABY FINCH had become tired of sleeping in makeshift encampments, bathing with only a wet cloth and a meager bar of soap, eating rations fit for something the size of a CUTIEFLY.[break][break]

He was glad to be back on leave. At least here, he could take some time to himself and relax within the communal baths reserved for the top brass of ROCKET. [break][break]

Using his personal jelly soap in the shape of a splayed LECHONK, Barnaby began lathering his arms first — starting at his wrists, where faint bruises still remained from his encounter with THEO BECKETT.
