"They've given up attacking out leaders and avatars...but for what?" he asked, unable to figure a motive for the other universe terrorists. The only good part about their existence was that Rocket was also in the Triad's sights. He briefly thinks about the Unown avatar PENELOPE LIVY had mentioned from her council meeting, but the feeling had been while they were an unknown, a relationship with the Triad may not be present. Or at least, there's a chance of it anyway. [break][break]

"We can take out five." he said, thoughtfully as he fully considered the options. Maybe not head on but, he could pick some off if he could get within range. "We have the best chance of taking them on in surprise, especialy once they start teleporting and shooting with their Unown." They still don't know what the hell happened to something once the beams hit, but he didn't want to find out. [break][break]

"Me and some of my pokemon can try to take out a couple from a distance but after they'll be alerted, and probably try to find me. But at least it might give you an opening if you're watching form another angle." he suggested. [break][break]

"I could have one other pokemon close by to assist you while I try to join you on their position. I don't know if I can lure them all away for you. Besides, won't need to sneak into their base for intel if they're all dead." he began selecting some pokeballs.

The cliff he was perched on gave way to easy sight of a small Rocket encampment. Right where it'd been spotted by League patrols earlier. So far, it didn't same like the people that reported it had been spotted but he was still careful. Who knew when you could get side swiped by a ghost type or dive bombed by a flyer. [break][break]

Peering through the scope he can see some flurry of activity, but not many individuals. And? Maybe a drill? Were they mining the tera slabs that seemed to be so abundant down here? Whatever the case, if Rocket wanted it, Paxton would be more than happy to deprive it from them. "annalise henderson , I only really see 3, maybe 4 individuals. It's not as busy as the patrol thought." he said, closing his eyes as he pulled his head away from his rifle. [break][break]

Despite not being slick at all, he smiled into his drink anyway. The tips of his ears were the only sign he was embarrassed as they turned a brighter red that made it hard to blame on the cold. He's not sure what he liked more. Luci and his nickname, or the fact that he agreed to come home. To his home. An upgrade to Lilycove for sure but...his home. There's a flash Luci in his mind, kneeling down, undressing him, staring him down- [break][break]

He closed his eyes to banish the thought. Now was not the time. [break][break]

Paxton snickered at the sculptor's reactions. Of course he knew better than to imply Luci would lift a finger. Paxton would gladly do it all if he had to. And maybe, if he was feeling brave, ask for something in exchange for all the effort. [break][break]

It's lost in this sort of warm planning and idle chat that he is slow to react. Then again, he's always slow around luciano fisk . The world would practically stop when he saw him. Paxton tilted his head, surprised by the answer. Groudon. A double edged sword. He thinks of the records of the previous Groudon user and the primal poisoning that killed them. "Yeah." he said with a small nod, sympathizing with whatever thought Matias didn't want to finish. He didn't pry it out of him. "I can get that for you, if you trust me." he said. "We have therapists on payroll. People that can help." he said before pausing. "Or, you can talk to me. You know where my office is and I'd always clear my schedule for you." He'd do the same for CALLISTA MOON and maybe even Eva Morales. He offered a small pat on the man's shoulder, hoping the slight touch would keep him from tumbling into his own thoughts. "Trust takes a lifetime to build, and a second to destroy it." he said, echoing a sentiment that has probably been said to Matias over and over since the council had their meeting on him. "I won't hesitate to trust you after what we've been through." hiss tone grew firmer as he transitioned. "But you know as well as I do, you have to be able to defend your choices. And you've yet to do that with dahlia goode." [break][break]

"I don't agree with your involvement with Elisabeth Fiorelli. But I want to trust you are doing what you think is best for Hoenn. Just like in Kanto." he said, though it's obvious there's a tension pulling his expression into a frown as he thought about the Rocket Underboss. He'd already had it out elsewhere about the whole thing with PENELOPE LIVY. "But if anybody should be informed of this, it's your Commissioner. Protect yourself, you're smarter than that." he said. "And if you have a reason to distrust people in the council, people like PENELOPE LIVY, I'd like to know. It's my job to investigate these things after all." he added, worrying plain as day on his face. He had been concerned over Chi-Yu's effects on the councilwoman. But he had yet to either notice a change or speak to her much about it.

It's a mess, but he can transcribe it better for when he presented it to PENELOPE LIVY . This meeting wasn't worthless, it set guidelines and provided a way to trim the fat. Plans are good, and from this one he would be able to develop contingencies. People weren't perfect, but they at least had certain variables he could account for. And if he was really good, anticipate any menace before he encountered it. [break][break]

He looked at the clock, happy to note they were ending on schedule. He didn't want to take up any more time than necessary. Gathering his notes and files, he stood up to tuck it all securely under one arm. "Excellent. I look forward to your report, though I'm sure you'll tell me it' better to attend in person." The Raticate fights at confinement and Coniebear does her best to keep it from escaping, blasting FAIRY WIND at it to push the beast back. The lightning continued striking but nothing seemed to light up. As he readied to pull the trigger despite the risks, Callie interrupted his strategizing. "Moving!" he shouted. [break][break]

His mega mawile stood protectively by the cage while he ran over to assist his friend. "Rusted over?!" he asked as he leaned down with her to apply pressure. No dice. A brilliant light illuminates the station again and what he thought could be console lights, or more dead body eyes. He didn't think too hard on what. Seeing a pipe wrench discarded by them he yelled, "Watch your hands!" and raised the wrench over his head before smashing it back down. The lever shifts and snaps shut in the other position. The circuits clicked into place it seemed. The cage immediately lit up with electricity and the Raticate zombie shrieked and melted. [break][break]

The smell of burn, rot filled the station and smoke began to rise from its body. Conibear moved back to the trainers before taking the lead. "Callie let's retreat for now." he said not wanting to stay a moment longer. His pokemon slams herself against locked doors to a horrible creaking noise. She tries again, pounding against the metal lock before it seems to slip open and the mega evolution tumbled out without grace. Paxton moved to help her up before turning to check on his partner.

Matias spoke and for a moment Paxton reassessed. Did he want him better because it wouldn't do League any good if Matias was suddenly absent? Or because they were friends. He thinks about the report. The building moments of information withheld from superiors for strange reasons. The pressure of ascending higher and higher and having it doubled from bearing the weight of one of Hoenn's legends. [break][break]

"What do you wish was different for you?" He tried to avoid promising something like alleviating the load. After all, he held rank, he was an E4 member. Maybe there was something else they could put on Greyson Connors or Melody Miro . It's hard to consider when he knew the contempt PENELOPE LIVY held for the man's actions. He agreed, but he would rather believe this could be fix instead of forsaking the man completely.

There's a flas of light and a little Mawile snarled, and grinned ready for action. The second head snapped angrily ready to bite down on prey. "You heard her Conibear! Push that thing into that other thing!" he said as the moved closer to Callie, eyes darting around their surroundings in case another one of the Raticate monstrosities started walking. [break][break]

Conibear cracks her little hands and Paxton's keystone glow in tandem. "Give it hell!" he ordered as the Mawile transformed, shedding rainbow light around the locked way station. The Raticate moves trying to chase the Lycanroc and clamp down disgusting giant fang on it when a MEGA EVOLVED Mawile boded it right off course, and smashed it putrid body into a side console. [break][break]

"Holy shiit- is that corpse water!?" he asked, barely able to see but hearing something liquid-y splash on the ground. Conibear is undeterred her two heads snapping angrily. As the Raticate scrambled to it feet she darted in with a burst of speed, slamming her fist into its mouth in a SUCKER PUNCH. The dazed creature ii knocked aide from her power, the deteriorated fang snapping and t let out a strange gurgle in response. "It can still feel pain??" Paxton noted, logging the phenomenon for later as Conibear continued punishing the creature, lining it up un front of the cage before letting of a FAIRY WIND launching the shambling corpse of a normal type into the cage and slamming the door after it. [break][break]

No sooner than she did that the station is hit by another lightning strike that ignite the mechanism around the cage, striking it with multiple bolts of electricity. He's not sure if it screams in fear of pain anymore.
To answer Callie's previous question, "No. No I don't think that is." [break][break]

"Next time you come over, I'll make you the same again." he promised, as he Sipped his cocoa with care, quietly trying to get Luciano to agree to visit him again. "We can dip the madeleines in." he said smoothly assuring he had the purest of intentions. But he doubted Luci was convinced. [break][break]

He takes the lead again, the smell of pine enveloping them as the moved through aisles of trees that seems to grow taller and taller. "Now we go find something a bit shorter than your ceilings and...chop." He looked up at Luci. "Or well, I ask someone to get it for us and then help haul it back." it was a pretty simple task, but the experience was in the visit. The cocoa, the vastness of the farm, the various paths leading to different clearings full of little snow sculpture of statues to just enjoy the farm and the smell of it all. [break][break]

"We could also take a wreath for the front door, and some garlands." Which is what Paxton would be taking home to make the smell of pine inside his little apartment last longer. [break][break]

"Or a hay ride around their vistas? This farm borders it's own lake." he added.

"AQUA would be using the research from PROJECT SAPPHIRE, contributing to it. After all, most of our intelligence crops up in these close combat raids when the enemy is most likely to deploy or test their new developments." he stops short, processing what Freya says and nodding along. Thus far, he's agreeable to her thoughts. "In any case, I don't mean to imply AQUA would be tied down through research, but that it is SAPPHIRE's strike force you suggested." Paxton clarified, trying to follow and nudge the logic into place. [break][break]

PROJECT SAPPHIRE needed to recalibrate quickly, and show results to save itself. "I trust you'll be able to pull from the officer recruits and sygna suit owners' pool, as the trainers in the gym circuit won't be forced to volunteer." he said, reiterating to make sure they were agreeing to the same things. He then grew silent, reading over the points made and his notes around them. "I believe, for the most part, we are in agreement on how to proceed with SAPPHIRE and will continue to workshop further transformative phases with Councilwoman PENELOPE LIVY . I hope that the network our volunteers build with our League representatives saves civilians from taking on situations they don't fully understand." [break][break]

"And of course, should they insist to pursue the battlefield, we could recruit them as officers to repel Rocket threat. At the very least, it prepare them better for entering that environment."

Streenstrup s blasted into a nearby sand dune under the screeches of a thrashing pokemon. He returned her as Joules prepared a PROTECT to cover him and Hopper TELEPORTed in front of the Kyogre to keep it pushing forward and not towards the ants on the beach. Who knew for how long one lone Porygon could hold its attention though. [break][break]

She'd recognized it as the thing that had attacked the entirety of AQUA back underground. And as soon a she had, the thing had detected them. Giving chase with a fearsome roar, Paxton tried to push it back but Joules was knocked out of commission, coming back from scouting and taking a fierce attack for the both of them before Paxton returned them.
