as for the rest of the prophecy, there's not much to work with. most of kyle's previous knowledge of legends were mostly inferred from events that have already transpired, and the ones he hasn't clued in were too vague to make out.

he supposed even the ones he had muttered could also be wrong.

"either way, i know that isn't your style, so just keep doing what you do best," he continues his answer for MATIAS SILPH.

keldeo confers a helping hand with each person it passes by, treating everyone as equal at the eleventh hour. he supposed he can tell terrakion about it later.

although the strength given by the sygna suit cannot be transferred over with baton pass, kyle's solgaleo has already received much help in the form of geomancy and keldeo's assistance that he feels good enough to try.

cosmic power surges through the pokemon of cosmic space. he trusts on the volatile to fend off any disturbances with their attempt to game the system, but as unlikely as it is to be easy, there was nothing wrong with trying.

the target was Raziel Beckett's reshiram who fused together with the kyurem.

an attack from a sketchy position might be easy to handle, but a full-blown move launched with stable footing was bound to hit harder than the earlier moves.

"well, this might be tricky."

the poochyena attempts to dive into the ground with its shadow sneak and close the distance that way, but as he gets closer, the attack manages to manifest and the light from the move pushes the pokemon out of the shadows.

claws dig deep into the ground as it endures the move, ready to lunge at any time now that the distance has been properly closed once again.

he supposed the wonders of a sygna suit can only do so much.

mega evolution gives the charizard enough juice to power through the barrier and throw the poochyena off of the trajectory of its attack, killing the momentum built by the pokemon and effectively deflecting the attack.

the dark-type rolls through dirt, but stands back up strong and ready to face the charizard in one final showdown.

"come on, kilo, just one good blow. it's time to show off how we have a good time."

a song is sung as the poochyena howls as a battle cry. it doesn't waste a moment to charge straight at the charizard the next moment, pouncing fearlessly at the lizard with one last dragon hammer to make a mark for itself in its opponent's eyes.

at this point, kyle hopes the battle will finish fast since he's running out of jokes just as quick. there was a reason he didn't become a stand-up comedian.

"to be fair, you screwed the pooch by starting it."

and kyle paid the price by partaking in it.

it continues to play rough with it, like riding a mechanical bull. it digs its teeth and fangs on the tauros, but the raging bull eventually throws the poochyena off of it.

the dark-type rolls off the dirt after landing before shaking the dust off of its coat when it gets back on its feet.

the right play was to wait out the mega evolution, but against a machamp, kyle knows that it wouldn't be an option with what he has out in the field.

unable to see itself dodging in time, the poochyena steels itself for the hit and plants its feet on the ground. it lowers its head, and then leaps directly straight to the attack to deflect it with it.

"there's no way out of this, kilo. make the best out of your position."

the fighting-type's style in a battle offers no guard for both sides. there's only so much deflecting that kyle can do before his poochyena breaks.

the dark-type rushes to bite the machamp's ankles to play rough with it, bracing itself for the eventual hit from the other pokemon's attack.

its wish gives it a second wind after being almost blown to smithereens. it wasn't enough to give him the ability to act like it was negligible, but it was enough for him to stand back on his feet.

"you better wish you survive this, kilo," he'd tell his pokemon in jest.

it howls as a battle cry before it runs straight at the zeraora. it might have been able to cripple him in one blow, but the poochyena has already chipped away at its health as well.

it lowers its head, ready to bash the electric-type with his skull as the dragon hammer primes to deflect the opposing plasma fist when they meet at the middle.

the flash cannon pushes the poochyena back, breaking the distance between them and turning it to an eventual war of attrition from range.

as the dark-type recovers from the move and fluffs its fur back, it responds to the jackal with a few barks of its own. the only move it knows is sent later to the future, as future sight plants a delayed attack.

the poochyena then runs back to the lucario as if it hasn't learned its lesson from the flash cannon. it crosses the line between acting and poising himself for another strike.

"ooh, that's kinda hot with the way you said it."

kyle's smug aura resonates with the pokemon with their sygna suit. it stands proud against the threat that was poised to demolish it at any cost.

"but is it as hot as being called noah lopez?"

the second he said it affirmed his initial thoughts. it also doesn't have as much impact as he would've wanted since it's basically just a mirror of noah's own idea.

regardless of how the taunting went, the poochyena, itself, has made it a point to reflect its trainer's current mood with the way it vibed with the atmosphere. a taunt of its own is thrown to the toxicroak.

going against larger opponents with smaller pokemon was what kyle was always used to. he's in his element, but there were always risks in the match that he will usually force his win condition to be more difficult to attain.

his poochyena was ready to give a follow up blow from his position, but the melmetal's move forces it to let go and keep distance. static threatens its fur to stand up to its end, and if the objective was to stop the pokemon from wailing on it, then it was successful in that term.

despite having been made clear that the opposing pokemon has a ranged move as well, kyle wasn't too nervous about his position. the poochyena brings its secret move out, which doesn't really have any visual indicator.

it stares at the melmetal with a glint in its eye, prepping a delayed attack with future sight.

ollie morales 's warning comes through as he walks out of the way, bringing his smeargle along with him. as he gives him a salute of thanks, his eyes pass to Gunner Graves , who he returns the nod he received from with a wave.

it's with these people that he can rest easy and continue doing whatever he wanted in the heat of the moment.

"fear... basin... that's the other ruination beast."

kyle activates his sygna suit together with his smeargle as it takes in the energy from geomancy, using the pseudo-avatarship to borrow its move soon afterwards. he feels energy coursing through him, only for the sygna suit to remain a conduit and carry the excess energy in it instead.

"the only chain i can think of is the one from the darkest day. i think it's used to restrain necrozma back then. i'm not sure why it's shared though."

his pokemon baton passes its boost as it goes back to its ball. he's been absently thinking of the words prophesied by the kyurem when a voice grounds him back to reality.

kyle turns to MATIAS SILPH , answering his inquiry. "in a way. that just means we leave it to them to clear the main objective. i use that term when i try to fill in the holes they might have missed."

his solgaleo comes out as the smeargle's replacement, having been fed by the geomancy of the smaller pokemon.

"you know how it is nowadays," he would casually comment. "expect the unexpected is the new normal."

which is something that can be said as well when it comes to a psychic-type managing to beat a dark-type without too much trouble.

he picks up his poochyena rather than recalling it to its ball when hideo manages to call something out that he forgot.

"you know what, i really should." challenging gyms was always a hobby of his, though his opinion about the gym circuit was different from others who take them for their actual purpose. "expect a challenger once my work load lightens, gym leader kino!" he'd proclaim.

"this is exciting. i'm about to learn from a master."

he's been trying to change himself in a way that embodies the saying 'ignorance is bliss'. if only he wasn't an important part of the league, he would have went all the way to master it as well.

the poochyena blinks and the pikachu is already up its face. it takes a step back and jumps the pikachu to play rough with it.

he activates his sygna suit with a flick of his wrist as soon as the introductions are out of the way.

"come on, don't sell yourself short." that was kyle's gimmick. "it's going to make it embarrassing for me if i lose."

in a way, kyle was it the other way around that has to abuse gimmicks and experience just for him to make an excuse for his favorite pokemon to be used.

the earthquake shakes the ground to the core, making it difficult for the poochyena to make his way to the melmetal. instead, he melts into the ground and shadow sneaks towards the pokemon to make the travel fluid, popping out to hit the hunk of metal.
