The way Wolfgang said it like it was so simple made Izzy roll his eyes - maybe it was the deep-rooted constant anxiety, but he never found things to ever be as simple as that, especially not missions like this. Knowing their luck, the culprit in question would be a feral hoard of Tyrantrum looking for an Izzy-sized bite to eat.[break][break]

"I guess it might be that simple, yeah" Izzy shrugs, his tone suggesting he definitely did not believe what he was saying.[break][break]

"If it's something small that we can't see, then... maybe it's made a den or something. We should look for that"[break][break]

He follows Wolfgang, keeping just behind him. The little meek lamb in the shadow of the wolf. Why did he always end up like this? This dude wasn't even in rocket anymore... ugh.

A man of few words, no matter how social he tried to be. Izzy didn't want to seem like he didn't care about what Luka had to say though - she was genuinely nice to speak to, considering Izzy hated conversation and socialisation as a whole - so he forced out a couple more sentences.[break][break]

"That's cool, though - I mean, that you could like... alter it and stuff. If I had to do any of that I'd be lost. I can sew on patches and stuff, though." Had to learn to, considering how little clothes he could afford as a kid.[break][break]

He watches her for a second then, leant back on his arms, working in tandem with her Steenee. People who could work like that with their pokémon always amazed him - maybe it was his own mental blocks, or maybe he just wasn't that good a trainer, but he always felt like he was more annoying to his pokémon than anything else. When Wira watered plants, or Myszko snuck off to steal things, he generally just let them be. Maybe he just needed to... try a little harder? It was mesmerising to watch, really.[break][break]

She looked over soon enough, though, and Izzy found his cheeks redden, caught in the act.[break][break]

"Oh- that's... you don't have to do that if they're fancy or anything, I don't wanna break your stuff by accident - I'm not exactly experienced in this kinda thing" but her smile is so genuine, her laugh so carefree, he can't help but believe she really does mean it - no strings attached.[break][break]

"...Yeah, alright, please. If you're sure?"

With Lawenda's little hooves clippy-clopping at his side, Izzy had just thought about having a nice lone walk. It was something he had found himself doing more and more recently, and the times he didn't get disrupted were actually quite soothing. Maybe he needed more time to reflect and think than he'd previously assumed.[break][break]

Izzy catches the other guy sipping a drink and wonders for a moment about just slinking away - but wouldn't that look weirder, then? To just be seen and then to disappear off without a word? The last thing Izzy needed was someone thinking he was up to something.[break][break]

Izzy had been expecting the Cofagrigus, but the Runerigus was a little extra drama that they definitely did not need. Admittedly, it wasn't too surprising, consider how fucking weird this place felt, that there would be two powerful ghost types here.[break][break]

Everything seemed to happen all at once - Bee's Liepard jumped into action just as fast as Myszko did, though the main difference being that the Liepard was protecting the two rockets, and the Salandit was scuttling under the table to protect itself. Ahh, Myszko. Never change.[break][break]

Izzy felt a hand on him and a pull, hard, all-but stumbling into his taller partner and then steadying himself against his chest for just a brief second.[break]
"Shit- uh- thanks" [break][break]

Ignoring Myszko's entire existence - that motherfucker rarely allowed himself to be put in a ball even in a situation like this - Izzy unclipped a different pokéball and let out Sen, the little DUSKULL.[break][break]

"Sen- stop them from doing that shit" He called, and the little ghost listened and squared up with the much larger pokémon as if it were nothing. With a bright, shining blink of his single red eye, Sen left the COFAGRIGUS unable to claw at them again, with the help of a quick DISABLE.[break][break]

They had been tasked with cleaning this place out, after all, which meant... the Yamask's parents had to be taken out.[break][break]

Ugh. Did it always have to be so much colder in places like this than anywhere else? It was probably all the ghostiness nearby, sure, but it was still annoying. If he'd thought ahead, Izzy would have brought something warm to drink. He was a little too common for any of that pumpkin spice shit, but a cheap and gross coffee would do if it was toasty warm.[break][break]

"Couldn't blame him - plenty of people get weird about ghost types, right?" Izzy wasn't one of those types of people - he owned his fair share of ghost types himself, and there were plenty of other much scarier things in the world.[break][break]

"Mount Pyre? Yeah, couple times. I was only here a little while, ago, actually, ended up bumping into some dude and having a whole Rapidash situation. It was kind of weird, but I guess that's what happens when you wander about a graveyard mountain, huh?"[break][break]

He turns around for a moment, realising he's spoken a little more at once than usual, only to find Vic disappearing off in the distance towards a group of glowing lights. Izzy sighs and follows after him, scooping Myszko up from the ground in one smooth motion and sliding him onto his shoulders as he catches up with his guide.[break][break]

"I thought you were supposed to be guiding me-" He grumbles as he follows, then when they finally arrive at where the wisps float delicately in the air, Izzy sighs again and gets the camera ready.[break][break]

"Seems like a good ghosty picture to me, right?"

Izzy had never been camping or anything like - the closest he'd gotten was sleeping outside on days he'd gotten back too late and his mum had kept the door locked. When it came to being outside and knowing about things like campfires or making shelter. He didn't have nostalgic memories of being away in the wilderness with family, so...[break][break]

...honestly, he was kind of lost.[break][break]

"Eh... not, not really. But we can probably work it out, right?"[break][break]

She'd been clever enough to bring useful pokémon with her, which Izzy had done too. "I've got Wira, ah- my Inkay. She could help maybe... lifting stuff, you know? Psychic type stuff" It'd be useful to not have to lift whatever driftwood and stuff they find themselves, after all. He let the aforementioned Inkay out of her ball, where she floated to follow Melody and her Leavanny, with Izzy coming along just after.[break][break]

"...I'm Izzy, by the way" He spoke up, realising he hadn't even introduced himself yet. "You're Melody as in Melody Miro, right?" What with Rocket and all, Izzy was used to meet rich and powerful people, but Melody was different - she was kind of like an actual celebrity.

"Obviously not..." He grumbles, awkwardly rubbing at the back of his neck as though it might detract from the blush. The way that Wolfgang stares at him doesn't help - like sizing up prey, checking him up and down for cracks in the armour, for lies. Izzy hated it more than anything. If he was religious or cared about that kinda shit at all, he might've said a prayer just to get the attention off of himself.[break][break]

Luckily, whatever non-deity was listening to Izzy's non-prayer granted that wish, as the taller man opposite Izzy moved swiftly on.[break][break]

The plan? Admittedly, Izzy hadn't really gotten that far...[break][break]

"I just figured there would be, like... a... Pokémon here..." It sounded stupid now that he said it out loud. "I bet you've got a full plan, escape route and emergency backpack of supplies worked out, though, huh?"

"I spoil him plenty enough" said with a little smirk, mostly because it was so true.[break][break]

Myszko wriggled a little as he was passed to just one hand, which made Izzy roll his eyes - how come he never acted this well-behaved at home? Considering he'd had to replace his TV cables for the billionth time recently due to a certain lizard chewing through them again.[break][break]

Focused on cuddling up to Ceri or not, Myszko did still bother to listen to Izzy when the Nuzleaf walked nearby, just enough to be a potential bother. "Ember it, can you, Mysz?" And indeed, in a little spurt from the crook of Ceri's arm, the flames chased the grass-type away, a faint after-glow of embers illuminating the dark alleyways like will-o-wisps.[break][break]

"An Obstagoon, really? You always gotta one-up me" He laughs just a tiny bit, well aware that Cayenne was at home with his spidey-senses going crazy right about now. Izzy took the moment of temporary post-giggle confidence to ask what he was going to before.[break][break]

"Y'ever noticed how we only hang out on missions? Or stuff like this?"

What could be easier than taking photos for money? Well, for ghosts, maybe it wasn't quite as simple as it seemed. Did ghost-types even show up on camera?[break][break]

And of course, as well, he was with that ranger again, as if things needed to be more complicated.[break][break]

Admittedly, it was Izzy's own choice to invite the ranger - Vic, he'd said - out with him today, but he didn't actually have a choice. Last time Izzy went out to make some money in the middle of nowhere, he ended up lost. This time, with a ranger by his side, maybe he wouldn't get stranded in the middle of the woods with nothing to eat and nobody to pull him back.[break][break]

...It was still embarrassing to have to rely on someone else, though. Even more so when Izzy had to physically text him and ask him like they were hanging out or, god forbid, going on a date. Even more embarrassing considering Myszko had decided, as per usual, that anybody else was more interesting than Izzy was, and had busied himself with trying to chew on Vic's shoes between each step.[break][break]

"I'm taking some photos." He shrugged it off, too used to not wanting to tell anyone anything. But Vic had gratefully offered to guide him today, so it only seemed fair to give him real answers.[break][break]

"Offer from a photographer. Since stuff is kinda weird at the moment, he's paying people to get photos for him. Kinda defeats the purpose of being a photographer, right? But hey, I need the money".[break][break]

Maybe if the stars align, they'll capture the perfect photo of a horde of shiny Dusknoir or something, and make a fat packet to take home.

Izzy parted the soil with just his hands, unafraid of dirtying the undersides of his fingernails. Supposedly volcanic soil was great for growing plants - did that mean that Mt. Pyre was once a volcano like Mt. Chimney? He still wasn't sure why the seeds needed to specifically be planted here as opposed to elsewhere, but maybe ghosts loved vegetables?[break][break]

"I was just thinking that" He looked across at her for a moment, watching her kneel in the dirt like it was nothing. She didn't seem the type, but... he supposed making judgements like that was always stupid. Plenty of people assumed wrongly about him, after all. When she complimented his costume, he brushed it off as easily as crumbs.[break][break]

"Eh- it wasn't really anything special, yours was miles better. It's from that, uh, that tv show or something, right? It looked really good. Did you make it?"[break][break]

There's a pause for a moment.[break][break]

"Did you ever see that video, uh-- the one with that Growlithe? And they dress him up like an Ariados, and he freaks that guy out in the parking lot at night, and... it went, like, viral or whatever." He cleared his throat, awkwardly trying to explain how actually proud he was of the costume he'd put together, no matter how much he pretended he wasn't. "It was kind of based on that. My costume, I mean"

It was so easy to watch people when you made an effort not to make friends at work. Nobody came over to say hello, nobody bugged him. He was glad for it, in honesty - seeing people crowd around other Rockets, watching fellow grunts tied up in conversation... it was something he couldn't dare to have. It was too dangerous to have people know him as a person, considering what could happen with the League if anything got out... not to mention what Rocket might do if he put a foot out of line.[break][break]

...But it was also hard to people-watch when you actually recognised someone from outside of Rocket activities. Izzy stared at Martín del Mar from across the room from the moment he noticed him, trying to work out if he was really actually here, or if Izzy's thoughts about his big strong arms lifting him onto that Rapidash had tainted his eyeballs, or whatever. [break][break]

Fuck. It really was him. The guy from Mt. Pyre... and more importantly, the CEO of that fucking bank. The rich guy, the guy who had ridden a horse down the mountain with him, the guy who Izzy had implied seemed uppity or too snooty to be in a graveyard.[break][break]

And judging from how some others were reacting to him as he had entered, he was someone important.[break][break]

Izzy wasn't usually one to stare - he was much more commonly one to face down and avoid eye contact all together - but he couldn't help it. All he could think was "shit."
