Feeling his date's eyes on him brings smirk to his lips, and Pace helps himself to one of the delicate pastries just after Kaz does, reaching hands just missing each other like ships at night. Pace was always one who revelled in being looked at. Could call it being self-obsessed.[break][break]

"No way? That's not too surprising, though, honestly - I bet you hold your own and more. I'll have to keep an eye out for you in the ring, sometime. I'll cheer you on!" He laughs.[break][break]

At Kaz's next comment, Pace holds his gaze and replies with a grin. "Oh, that sounds right up my alley. I bet you could teach me all kinds of stuff, huh, big guy?" Admittedly, Pace didn't spend a lot of personal time with guys like Kaz, but that didn't mean he could switch it up now and then. What was better in life than mixing things up once in a while, after all?[break][break]

"Say, that bell's probably gonna ding any second, so here. Since you're easily the best looking person here today" He scribbles down and then passes over his phone number across the table.

"Oh, it shows, dude, you guys are in great shape. You especially" He smirks, letting his eyes wander along the lines of his abs that Pace could notice through Kaz's shirt. Pace was toned and fit, sure, but he was never the kind of guy to hold proper muscle like Kazimir was, even as a gym bunny teen.[break][break]

"Not so much now, but I used to play a bunch of baseball in school. On the team, and I did some soccer on the side too, but not as serious" He leans forward a little, elbows on the table and hand on his cheek, holding Kaz's gaze.[break][break]

"What about you? I could see you as a wrestler or something. Throwing guys around, that kind of thing." A grin that plays about his lips.[break][break]

"I definitely wouldn't complain, at least"

Pace was usually the hot fit guy in most situations - a schooltime of being a jock had secured his status as such - but when his date arrives all muscles and sweat, Pace is definitely not disappointed.[break][break]

"No worries at all, that's a hell of a buddy you've got there" He grins back, conscious of his own partner for the evening who's currently fast asleep nesting on the table once again.[break][break]

"The pleasure's all mine, Kaz, I guarantee. I'm Pace Mahmoud, I'm a ranger" He - without attempting to hide it - takes a good look across Kaz's face and body. "Can I just say - you look great"

"Good things never last, hm?" Pace raises a brow at her as the ding lets the couple know it's time to move on. "A match made in heaven like ourselves get pulled away from each-other eventually, like how a flower blooms but inevitably wilts" He dramatically sighs, pauses, then grins. "Admittedly, I'm somewhat glad for the time limit. I need to study some more floral metaphors for when we next meet"[break][break]

No if, just an obvious when.[break][break]

He wouldn't be Pace Mahmoud if he didn't take a long, deep look at the skin of her back as she turns. Elisabeth looks back as though catching him in the act, and he revels in the play of wanting to be caught. Gold meets crystal as their eyes linger on one another, saying things that they can't with physical touch. Not here, at least.[break][break]

No drove Pace crazy, almost as much as Elisabeth's expert way of playing the game did.[break][break]

"When you say it like that you make me seem very ungentlemanly." He smirks, offering her a polite bow of the head. "I'll have to have a stern word with serendipity, then, so I don't miss out on my next chance at taking such a beautiful woman out for a drink, perhaps?" He practically purrs it, kneading his metaphorical claws against her, applying just enough cutesy pressure.[break][break]

People around them begin to shuffle and move around, looking for their next match. Pace takes another moment to watch her as she goes, that marvellous temptress in red. A few more moments, a blink later, and she's taken by the crowd.[break][break]

Woof. He needed some fresh air after all that. Maybe a cold shower.

While Pace may not have attended Kalosian balls, he'd brushed shoulders with the high classes a couple times in his previous employment. From the Marzáns to the many powerful families they interacted with, Pace knew exactly what buttons he could push to get attention in a situation like that - like this - while also knowing what lines not to cross.[break][break]

Not to mention how much he revelled in being nakedly brazen - people formed their own assumptions about him from it, and having people believe you were a certain type of person could be extremely useful at times. This whole game felt like something he could have played with Martín del Mar, many lifetimes ago.[break][break]

He laughs gently at her faux-offense. "You know, I think all the best things have an aspect of danger to them. All the most beautiful things, too. Even roses need thorns, hm?" A metaphor he was sure she'd heard enough of - any gorgeous woman who worked with flowers must've heard the 'thorned rose' line too many times to count.[break][break]

"I appreciate a little foreboding, sometimes, though. If everything was easy and safe, how boring would that be?" Pace smiles. "You know, we don't have much more time, so if I could be blunt... you're easily the best looking person here tonight. Would you give me the honour of getting your number?" He grins at the question, asked as though he's asking her hand in marriage.

Pace revelled as much as Elisa did in the essence of her beauty and freedom - to see a women as gorgeous as herself so free to admit it and be proud of it was always a wonderful thing to be a part of. If he had any knowledge of her history with her husband, he'd have only championed her further.[break][break]

Red - damning lust, alarming beauty, a deep warning, danger. It was titillating beyond belief, evident in the way Pace mirrored her and rested his hand against his cheek, leaning in over the table just a little.[break][break]

"I would never presume such a thing, though I imagine at least you've left a fresh trail of love-drunk corpses behind you" He laughs, blissfully unaware at just how close his metaphor hits to the truth.[break][break]

The vixen and the lothario, both with every millimetre of their character practiced and poised over years under iron fists and stern stares, a husband, a mother. Accusations of promiscuity, slamming doors, hair-triggers that snapped at the slightest friction. And now, both of them, here and free to play their silly little games. Interesting, wasn't it, how mirror images could exist so unaware of eachother?[break][break]

Pace raises a brow and smirks. "Oh, of course, the begonias. So beautiful, so thank you, and quite an interesting little message tied along with them, hm?" He smirks, clearly not referring to the handwritten card, and holds her gaze tight. "Am I being warned, Miss Fiorelli?"

Pace had, truly, never needed coaxing in order to speak, especially not about himself. Save for a few little details that he'd rather not bring to light, Pace could talk about himself and how wonderful he was for years. Not necessarily desperate to be liked, but when someone's entire social life is built around being the person that everyone loves, a certain subconscious desire that people adore him is natural.[break][break]

Good at understanding people's expressions and demeanour, though? Oh yes, very much so. Even before Sinnoh, he'd perfected the art of looking at little things. The kinds of things you pick up with a mother who snapped at the smallest things, it became all-but necessary to pick up the small details. And then, later in life, as he became a person who desire physical contact, sometimes the little unsaid things spoke the most with flirting.[break][break]

As for Percy, though... Pace was picking up on some rather obvious messages that read as a pretty clear don't even try it.[break][break]

He can't help but smirk at Percy's tease, all-but whining a reply. "That's not what I meant, Mr. HNN. Are you teasing me right now? I wasn't sure you had it in you. It's quite an attractive quality, though."[break][break]

Again, the topic is turned on it's head - Percy played this game stunningly well. Answer a question with the bare minimum and turn it back to Pace. It was like a job interview, but it also rang like a game, and Pace did awfully love the thrill of playing with someone who held themselves like Mr. Munn did.[break][break]

"Why Hoenn... hm... You know, I'm not sure there's a real answer there. Or at least not a particularly satisfying one - I moved quite quickly, on a whim, so I don't think there was much conscious thought behind it. Hoenn was close and far enough to be exciting and familiar all at once."[break][break]

Again, a thousand words come out at once. Not necessarily messy - his quantity matches the quality of Percy's carefully-picked sentences just as well. Nonetheless, though, Pace talks. When people were gorgeous and interesting, it was their civil duty to talk, of course - Mars would agree, back in the day, and probably even now. Percy seemed the type to think the exact opposite. It was utterly enthralling.

He grins bright as bulbs back at Vic as his friend replies so incredulously. It had always made Pace laugh just how different they were in some ways, despite their similarities. Vic couldn't lie, presumably even to save his life, and Pace told little white lies as easily as breathing.[break][break]

Admittedly, Vic had known him longer than most, and more specifically had known him before Pace had learnt even better to hone his deceit and lies amongst people like Martín del Mar. It was refreshing to spend time with someone from his past who didn't want him dead or who knew about his darkness.[break][break]

"I'm not accusing, I'm just saying!" He laughs. "And I don't mean seeing seeing, y'know. I bet you've got people chasing you down all over the place nowadays. It's the whole ranger thing - everyone loves a guy in uniform"[break][break]

As Seti carries him over the waves, a lone Golbat that looks rather lost catches Pace's eye. To see the poor guy hovering over water far away from any cave or other such dank dampness, he can't help but take a moment to aim and then lob a pokéball it's way.

As his next date approaches, Pace's eyes light up. He gratefully extends his arm to meet hers, pulling it closer, just gently, to kiss the back of her hand.[break][break]

"You only get one chance at a first impression, isn't that right? I always like to make sure I make the best ones" He beams, letting her hand go and sitting back a little.[break][break]

"It's lovely to meet you properly, of course. I know a fair amount about flowers from some previous experience, so I guess you could call my gift a chance to show off."[break][break]

Looking over to her opposite him on the little numbered table, he lets his eyes roam. She looked stunning, that much was so obvious it barely even needed to be said. He brushes his hair back with a hand.[break][break]

"I wouldn't have thought to see someone like you somewhere like this, you know, unless you're here for business. Surely everyone under the sun would've tried to snap you up by now?" A little chuckle escapes his lips, forever so genuine but reeking in ulterior motive. Anybody who knew Pace knew he was never in for anything with the long haul in mind, after all.
