Fun places like these were only ever fantasized in Toshiaki’s wildest dreams. Before he couldn’t go to these events as freely as he wanted, and even when he had the opportunity, he felt severely out of place. A burning star forced to be ordinary on the sidelines.[break][break]
Well, no more of that. He’s going to have fun![break][break]
“Woah, look! It’s perfect!”[break][break]
Toshi stands back tall, proud of his work. Lilith didn’t look very amused with him, but the snow-white Eevee ears were downright adorable on her! He laughs heartily, adjusting the Pikachu ears atop his own head.[break][break]
“Don’t worry, Lils. Have I ever led you astray? We’ll have fun. I promise!”[break][break]
Toshiaki held out his hand for her to hold, if she wished to grab onto it. Mainly for his sake, because he can get too excited and accidentally leave others behind.. Slateport City was easy to get lost in too, especially with how busy it was with the fair that came to town.[break][break]

The jock/jock character dynamic forever remains one of my favorites so of course I'm going to go along with it whatever chance I get. We’ve talked about it before but due to their similar personalities I feel like they would bounce off each other really well. Rae helps Toshiaki take things more seriously with her competitive spirit. And maybe Toshiaki's calmer disposition helps with some of her aggression.

And in due time ~~(you must be this lvl friendship to unlock my lore)~~ they could become even better friends. :flushed: :unless:

Upon entering the cozy establishment, the warm atmosphere of the cafe does well in dispelling the chill embedded deep in his bones. Though, he can only imagine Lilith is far much colder than he is, given she was out longer than him. There was still so much he didn’t know. How much the passage of time has truly affected her. Withdrawn in a way that causes him nothing but worry.[break][break]
He wanted to comfort her so badly, but knew that these things took time and a handful of patience.[break][break]
Toshiaki notices the way the Pokemon squirm in her arms. It must be difficult holding that many. Lord knows he has his hands full with Togepi, who will be wanting a coffee biscuit for sure.[break][break]
The logical solution would be to put them in their Pokeballs, but he won’t push the issue.[break][break]
“Hey, why don't you go sit down on one of the sofas with the little ones? I’ll order for us.” He flashes her a warm smile. “What would you like? The hot chocolate here’s pretty sweet, not real bitter at all. Oh! But they serve other beverages too!”[break][break]

Toshiaki didn’t consider himself unlucky by any means (though, it might come as a shock that he doesn’t) but this felt a little excessive. Not that he’s complaining!! He’ll take any blessings that come his way on this journey of his.[break][break]

Toshiaki pockets his rare find with a toothy grin, watching eagerly as Ceri finishes up the rest of her work. Cinderace looks pretty proud of himself too with what they’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.[break][break]
He blinks, surprised at her offer. Though, he’d be a fool to deny a free meal. And so he grins, rocking on the heels of his snow boots.[break][break]

He knew somewhat about Geology, though Pokemon Fossils were where his interests had truly lied. Owning one of those bad boys would be like a dream come true.[break][break]
As they walk further in the cave walls begin to sparkle. In that moment it’s as if he’s caught in a trance, staring at the glistening cavern before him. [break][break]

His whole face goes red as he laughs, clearly shy, but delighted all the same to hear such a kind sentiment.[break][break]

Toshiaki didn't seem like the nerdy type whatsoever. His overall image gave the impression of a rebellious delinquent. Dyed white hair, pierced ears, a scary face, though one could hardly tell with how much he smiles. Like sunshine incarnate.[break][break]

Just when Toshiaki believes the world couldn’t seem anymore vast he is proven wrong. This gym is nothing like he’s seen before. He can just picture himself standing on a glass bridge where the ocean lies beneath. He can feel the vibration of the great blue waves sloshing around, yet Toshiaki feels no sensation of fear, only great anticipation for what’s to come. A burning passion just waiting to be awakened. He came to this region to be a great trainer. The first step to that is collecting gym badges.[break][break]
He carries the Pokeball in his hand, fingers curled around it as his grip tightens. You can do this.. You can win if you just try hard enough![break][break]
Toshiaki pauses and inhales a big, deep breath. His eyes shut, then reopen, shimmers of bold, stunning gold fixated on doors where the real challenge lies.[break][break]

Both his grandmother and mother emphasized being gentler with girls. Though he completely missed the mark on that one, having practically crashed and burned into the poor girl. Embarrassment displays across his face in the form of a burning red hot complexion. One of these days that "gung-ho" attitude oh his is going to land him in some serious hot water![break][break]

Her hand extends out to him and toshiaki takes it, shakes it as if almost still processing the situation. Then, his whole demeanor lightens up at the mention of the popular tourist spot. “Oh? I was just on my way to the hot spring! And my name’s Toshiaki, nice to meet cha’!” He beams.[break][break]
Looks like all this energy was contagious, because out of nowhere a Torkoal gently headbutts his side. Oh! New friend for him![break][break]

“Nice! I was born in Johto, but I’ve lived in Galar pretty much half my life!” Moving between the two was a massive cultural shock at first, but luckily Toshiaki is known for his adaptability. He gives a whole new meaning to the saying: “go with the flow!”[break][break]
“Nah. Not really lookin’ for anything specific. I just like the thrill of a fun adventure, y’know?” He stuffs his hands in his pockets and grins wide.[break][break]
“Well, Ceri and Pyr, consider me and Cinderace here, your fellow cave explorers! And the adventurer’s party grows!!” He announces triumphantly with a tradtional fanfare tune to his voice, treating this as if it were a real RPG they were playing together.[break][break]
