"I do," Henry replied easily, folding his notebook and sliding it into his bag. "I'm no forensic investigator, and nor are you. It's clear that something troublesome has happened here, but to what end I can't be certain." He cast a dispassionate look at the surroundings once more, as though they were to blame for the lack of a clear way forward with the trail that, by all appearances, had been stopped dead.

At length, he gave a shrug, shouldering his bag and nodding to Jessica. "I think so, yes - at least in that regard we might be able to ensure a little more forward progress. Though to whose authorities is up for some debate," he snickered, unclipping a pokeball and releasing a Swellow with a casual flick of his wrist. "I'll report our findings, and I imagine those that set us out here will be in touch if anything further develops. It isn't as complete a picture as I would have liked to present, given the circumstances, but one must suppose something is better than nothing, don't you think?"

He offered a parting wave, and then was gone, though the details of the encounter still swirled in his mind. Was it simply a case of an unlucky tourist, or had M'sieur Bonhomme proven too tempting a target for someone looking to obtain a hefty ransom? Whether he was involved or not, Henry's frustration at the lack of facts would only result in him poring into the matter further, he was sure of it.

One hand lifting to straighten his glasses where they've managed to sit, askew, on the bridge of his nose, Henry nods, quickly returning his grip to the wall. Frowning at his feet, he widens his stance slightly until the wobbling diminishes. "Bend the knees, shuffle forward, balance," he murmurs, "It's a bit like learning to ride a bicycle all over again, don't you suppose?"

Despite his misgivings, he does as directed, bending his knees slightly and, once he's certain that his ankles are no longer in danger of slanting to the left or right, manages a shuffle forward, first with his right foot, then his left, all the while accosting the wall with a white-knuckled grip. Though he doesn't manage to make much forward distance, the slow, tentative slide of his skates manages to keep him upright, rather than immediately collapsing once more. "Like this?" he inquires, lifting his gaze away from his boots as though physically searching for Gigi's approval.

He turns his head slightly, almost imperceptibly, to direct Emile, but pauses at Gigi's warning. Slack-jawed, he can only watch as she catches the Gligar point-blank with scarcely a scuffle and nary a sting to show for the encounter. "Are you alright?" he inquires, moving over to inspect Gigi for any sign of discoloration. "Terribly bad luck, I'm afraid, though it's not many that could have retained that level of composure!"

The relatively quiet arrival of Yoshiro is countermanded by the much less quiet arrival of her Arcanine, and Henry abruptly straightens, attempting to adopt a significantly less compromising position than his heretofore questionably effective impression of a geriatric crab sliding across the ice, only nearly succeeding in slipping and toppling backwards altogether were it not for Eckart's timely intervention. The Toxtricity extends one lanky arm behind the scientist with a lazy grin, arresting his backward motion, and Henry coughs, shooting the Toxtricity a long-suffering glare before his attention turns to the new arrival.

"Henry Driscoll. The helpful one is Eckart," he offers smoothly, the calm rigidity of his tone at odds with the tightness of his smile, though whether it is in response to the hazards of the cave or the hazards of his companion's attitude is anyone's guess. "Fortunate timing, I must say. I suppose you're here to investigate the rumors as well?" He moves to Torao's other side, gripping onto a harness strap as Eckart shadows him. "Provided you don't mind company, I imagine this will make things significantly easier."

"I suppose that's true," Henry laughs nervously, though the relief in his posture, shoulders sagging, at the notion that the younger woman has survived her ordeal is evident. "Oh goodness," he murmurs as Georgette expounds upon her skating history, "That is rather fortuitous indeed." The only thing Henry dislikes more than unnecessary physical activity is being publicly embarrassed, particularly by himself. While not on the top of his list to engage in that which has bested him once already, he weighs the indignity of that against fleeing the rink and making a conscious effort to never be seen by anyone present again, and reasons that the former is likely less effort in the grand scheme.

"Ah, it is very good to meet you, Georgette, though I certainly wish it were under less painful circumstance," he grins lopsidedly. "My name is Henry, and I would be most grateful for your help, if only to protect the next unfortunate soul to be skating ahead of me." He cautiously removes one hand from the rail, holding it out toward Georgette for a shake. "How should I begin?"

While that hadn't quite been the finale Henry had in mind, he had to concede that the younger woman appeared quite capable of holding her own. As Reynard managed a few half-hearted Gear Grinds to take out the straggling Porygon2, the spectacle of Dante's evolution enabled Eckart to swiftly convey the remaining downed pokemon from the scene.

The scientist returns Reynard to its pokeball and accepts Amber's card with a warm smile, though it doesn't quite manage to reach his eyes. "Thank you very much indeed," he offers, "Though looking good is hardly what I'm after. Merely ensuring that those poor pokemon stop causing havoc and make it to where...well, where they ought to be, I suppose."

A shame that the surveillance equipment was shorted by the rampage of Porygon2 during the hubbub, and even more a shame that Amber is as recognizable as she is. The vast majority of the downed Porygon2 were ferried by Eckart to a secure location where numerous Rocket retrieval vehicles carted them away to their own labs. Macro Cosmos would likely be missing them, but any witnesses to the alleged theft would certainly remember a pretty young influencer before a nondescript scientist.

Henry adjusts his glasses, bids the girl farewell with a lazy wave, and turns not to the building, but to follow Eckart down an alleyway humming softly to himself. "Retrieval in place?" he inquires, to which the Toxtricity gives an affirmative growl. "Excellent," Henry murmurs to himself. "A job well done, I should think."

If it meant a feather in his cap for Team Rocket, well, all the better.

At Georgette's inquiry, he rubs his chin thoughtfully. "I am currently focused on obtaining a few Steel-type pokemon for a certain...theory of mine. If it isn't inconvenient, I suppose your traveling with me would prove helpful in its own right. I fear the details are not mine to share - trade secrets and the like on behalf of one of my current clients - but merely being afforded the opportunity to acquire a few should be quite beneficial indeed, thank you."

He decides to accompany Georgette as they venture further along the tunnel, making occasional small talk and more occasional observation of the various species of pokemon they pass. As he rounds a claustrophobic bend in the tunnel, a small shape suddenly launches itself at him, and he falls backward with a yelp. Emile, however, is quick to intercept the airborne Pawniard, sending it tail over teakettle with a Flame Burst. Clambering to his feet with a grin, Henry almost doesn't mind the bruises as he tosses an empty pokeball toward the Pawniard. "Aha, you see?!" he exclaims triumphantly.

Short of a body, given his mother's apparent wealth, I'm going to assume a kidnapping of sorts. Do you suppose that's enough to report back with, provided we don't manage to uncover any concrete evidence of foul play?"

Henry manages to land in a face-up sprawl, limbs splayed in an ungainly fashion. Taking a moment to recover from the fall, he lifts his head from the drift and looks about, glasses askew, trying to orient on the speaker. "I-I'm so terribly sorry," he stammers, his gaze snagging on Georgette. His eyes widen slightly - he's liable to have killed this poor, innocent young woman in his misguided attempts to skate. Perhaps he should have purchased a festive winter puzzle instead.

He moves to stand up, serving to slough off clumps of snow this way and that as he manages to do so with only marginal sliding before he grips onto the low wall of the rink with both hands in an effort to forestall another accident. "My first time, y-yes," he murmurs, glancing downward. His cheeks are reddened, though from embarrassment or the cold is anyone's guess. "I'm rather unscathed, except for my pride, but what about you? I daresay you weren't expecting to be accosted on the rink."

He lifts one hand from the rail and reaches for Georgette, as though to help her up, then thinks better of it as one skate attempts to slide out from under him. He hastily reaches back and grips onto the rail again with a nervous laugh, canting his head to one side in apology. "That obvious, I suppose?"

After moving a few items aside with a slight frown, Henry withdrew a small, flat box, one side concave in the shape of a rectangle, the other strung with numerous wires connecting various copper solder-points. "A prototype compact power generator," he offered, holding the device out to Jessica. "Regardless of the technology, if that phone has a battery of any sort in it, this should get it running as long as it stays in contact. Just press it against the flat side."

He returned to rifling through his bag, at length coming up with a small notebook computer, which he balanced on one palm with a practiced motion, raising the lid with his free hand. "Bonhomme, Bonhomme," he murmured, his free hand dancing across the keyboard with evident muscle memory. "If we are able to conduct our research here, it stands to reason that we shan't have to stay here much longer, don't you suppose?"

The scientist pauses as he hears his name called, despite the foreign inflection. He turns slightly, Emile's flames flickering higher for an instant in agitation, then offers a soft, bemused smile at the younger woman's approach. "Georgette, good evening," he greets, offering a wave albeit somewhat stiffly.

At her proposal, he tugs his chin thoughtfully, at length nodding. "I would be happy to accompany you, if you'd like. I must confess that I'm somewhat unfamiliar with this particular route, but I understand there are some fascinating Steel-types that may bear further study."

No sooner has he made this pronouncement than a commotion sounds from further down the tunnel. Into sight gallops a Mudbray, snorting and snuffling fiercely. In her jaws is the hilt of a Honedge, wiggling ineffectually to free himself. In the struggle, the sash of the Honedge has wrapped around the Mudbray's neck, though it seems to serve more as a dubiously functional scarf than any actual means of throttling the larger pokemon.

Henry regards the hubbub with a neutral expression, delicately sliding his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. "Curious," he murmurs, "They appear to be fighting among themselves. Don't you suppose that's a little odd?" He unclips an empty pokeball from his belt, assessing the melee before deftly tossing it forward, catching on the edge of the Honedge's blade. "Perhaps we'd best try to separate them before they hurt each other. Damage can prevent an impartial analysis."

Henry curses as he slips, falling on his arse with a grunt. The ice on the ground is doing him no favors in navigating the cave, and as such, he's not made it far in from the entrance to begin with. Though he has less business with the Mossdeep Space Center in comparison to some of his other, more regular, contracts, the prospect of a mysterious new phenomenon in the depths of the cave had piqued his interest.
