The pair went to work mining as well as they could. And as they did Johanna’s eyes strayed to the Pokemon that Alexei summoned. First was a Garchomp, and then a Tornadus
 She had to do a double take.

Wait, was that really a Tornadus? For a moment she considered asking about it. But figured they had work to do and ore to mine. And so she let it be as she went to work. If she had learned anything from the previous visits, then it was that she had to focus, ignore the world around her, any smells, sights, and even sounds.

“Mooooooooooo”

Her mining came to a grinding halt. She heard the heavy thudding hoof-steps another abomination approaching.

By the time the creature came close enough to see both Gengar and Marshadow jumped from their respective shadows trying to ambush it, they found their advance halted upon the moment of impact.

Pink near humanoid arms had blocked the punches. As they hung there for a moment they gazed upon the muscular pink Miltank-Marchamp hybrid.



“Mooo.” It threw the ghosts away with ease, crashing them against the rock walls. But that did not stop them, they were quick to jump into a counter offensive. DRAIN PUNCHES and PAYBACK blows rained upon the ungodly creature for as long as either ghost could last.

At last the abomination relented, and fell to the ground defeated.

Johanna wondered how Alexei was doing.

The battle had almost ended before it began. Was it perhaps the nerves or was it battling it nothing but a swimsuit in front of a crowd that did it? Or was it the float on which they stood? Or lastly was it perhaps the question Elise posed? Who knows. Not that it mattered. Only the facts of the situation mattered and they were as such.

The heat of the sun made Johanna glisten with sweat. She had survived the first booty bump, but it had taken all that it could.

And as such when the second bump came she braced herself trying to count with a bump of her own. But she found herself lacking. The power of the Joy family’s carefully crafted behind did not hold a candle to the Calcifet royal posterior power.

And so as the sound of their cheeks clapping with full force Johanna found herself defeated, pushed into the waters from which she would emerge seconds later, defeated.

She hauled herself up on the float once more and with a smile said. “It might’ve been short, but it was fun.”

“Now, you better win the rest of this!” A cheeky grin adorned her lips as she gazed toward Elise

Johanna appreciates the affirmation of her feelings, cliche or not.

And then the pitch upon which they stood revealed the truth hidden beneath. They were lifted downward, not that Johanna looked much at it as her attention was firmly placed toward Navy and the Pokemon he summoned.

“Glad that we are on the same page.” She smiled.

“But still, Rocket as an Organization is made up of a bunch of bastards at the top that is true -” She spoke from personal experience. She remembered her last interactions with them, it had been the meeting before Meteno, where they revealed their true colors. Were they revealed that they would sell the safety of Hoenn if it meant gaining an inch more power for themselves.

“ - But we must not forget that there are good people at the bottom stuck there out of force, necessity or stupidity.” Johanna spoke. Her tone is surprisingly serious and certain compared to her usually cheerful demeanor. As she spoke she remembered those she once called her friends, people like , people whose situation she understood like and plenty of others. For a moment she wondered if Navy knew he was speaking with a former Rocket Grunt.

Meanwhile her Claydol was focusing on the tiny Greninja, pondering its next actions because this was after all supposed to be a battle.

Dragapult saw the Thunderbolt strike true, and for a moment it considered it to be sufficient. But then it realized the Aerodactyl continued. But by then it was almost too late. It felt the cold air hitting it, tearing it what little it could. Had it not been for a split second jerking away it would’ve been caught in its jaws.

At this proximity Dragapult quickly realized it could not win against this beast in a brawl. A shimmering thin white film covered its body for a moment before the Dragapult darted away enhancing its speed with QUICK ATTACK to try and gain some distance.

Meanwhile Nidoqueen wasn’t quite as agile. And so it felt the freezing cold of the blizzard washing down upon her. Body tensed and shivered with discomfort and pain. In annoyance it allowed a fist to slam the ground with a powerful punch letting EARTH POWER wash through the battleground tearing it up in an attempt to not only hit the Wigglytuff but to make it harder for them to move around.

Johanna saw half-measured success from both of her fighters.

Dragapult’s attack did not seem to hit. But from what she noted the dodging caused enough commotion in their formation to allow Tinkaton to land a hit driving Altaria to the ground, but it did not manage to pin it there.

“Well done both of you! Keep it up.” She encouraged both Pokemon.

And both Pokemon would do their best to do so.

Tinkaton used her hammer to divert the Moonbeam, still stray rays of fairy power graced her body causing discomfort but little else. Still, she knew better than to take more of those. Still, the Moonbeam had afforded Altaria to take to the air out of its reach. There was only one thing to do.

Tinkaton’s grip tightened around the shaft of its hammer, it readied its feet with a wide stance and began to lift her heavy weapon in a swinging motion and for a moment she would swing a few rounds before letting the hammer fly in an impromptu ranged BRUTAL SWING.

Meanwhile Dragapult would not stay still. It would dart about in the air, trying to make it as hard to get close as possible as it fired THUNDERBOLT after THUNDERBOLT at its opponent. Though it would be clear as day to anyone paying attention that each bolt came slower than the last.

Johanna did not notice Isaac’s subtle stunt. She was far too focused on leading the way. And so Isaac’s efforts would be successful.

He even managed to trick ehr with the Tauros Trick. She excitedly looked toward the Tauros pen, hoping to see the tricks they were doing, only to be let down as they were doing nothing out of the ordinary.

“I think you need glass
” She turned around mid sentence only to stop speaking as surprise overtook her.

“Isaac, I was supposed to pay!” Johanna allowed a mild almost defeated sigh to escape.

Johanna pondered as she took to the field of booty battle. She had adorned her battle suit of choice. A classy punk-ish swimsuit in black and neon purple colors. Her bright blue hair stands in neat contrast.

By her side was Cian the Omastar, who’d spent the better half of an hour trying to reassure Johanna that she looked good in the swimsuit. Which was hard when you were limited to Poke-Language and tentacle gestures. But he made do with plenty of tentacle thumbs-ups.

And so here they both stood ready to do a booty battle with .

The parasect monstrosity fought valiantly. Such a shame that Johanna didn’t have the mental capacity to appreciate it.

But Marshadow did. It appreciated each swing of the claw, each foul chittering growl the insectoid released. But alas though the fight was beautiful in its own horrible way it had to end. And Marshadow did the best it could to bring that end about.

A flurry of Fire Punches that joined along the rising Voltage that Reiner released.

Realizing that it would probably only get worse from here, Johanna spoke out. “Let’s grab what we can and get out of here.”

A hearty chuckle escaped Johanna as Josh commented on the Legendary carousel. He even raised a fair point, but she figured she didn’t need to comment on it. It was a given. Everybody wanted to ride Legendary Pokemon.

The carousel slowed down. It was finally time for them to ride. “Oh no, that’s the one I wanted to ride!” Johanna played along with cheerful sarcasm, but it didn’t take long before people started getting on and she had to hurriedly find one for herself.

Luckily she managed to save the fancy feathered lord of the beasts Ho-Oh. Once strapped in and secure the ride would begin.
