Johanna was already missing the depths of the Ultra Sea.

Unfortunately she had agreed to do a one-man mission of reconnaissance in Lesser Megalopolis. It had started alright. The poor shape of the place made it easy enough to skulk around, and watch before approaching any of the inhabitants, whom she had already learned had been induced with some sort of zombie-like madness.

Now what she hadn’t expected to deal with was the massive cyclone of Swirling darkness which had pushed her further into the city as she tried to avoid it. Unfortunately she had not managed to dodge it in its entirety. It had caught her, sucked all the electricity out of both her phone and flashlight.

Luckily she had managed to survive the ordeal by finding some safety in what seemed to be an abandoned building.

And that’s where we find her right now, skulking about.

Claydol quickly floated out of the way of the Water Shuriken, though admittedly he could feel the small breeze of air as they flew by, so it had been far too close.

Unfortunately in its attempt at keeping Johanna safe by pushing her out of the way using a bit of psychic power managed to get him caught in the Whirlpool.

Johanna got the hint and tried to make her escape, putting some distance between the battling Pokemon.

A mental sigh escaped the Ground/Psychic type, before a mild golden hue surrounded its body. EARTH POWER washed into the field below before moments later violently ripping open the battlefield not only in an attempt to fight back against the Greninja but to destroy the Whirlpool that now caught and pained him.

Johanna doesn’t respond, instead she just presses herself closer to the cover, making herself as small a target as possible.

The rules of engagement had already been set and answering Navy, no matter how nearby it sounded like he was, would alert him to her location. For now, she would act as if he was a member of Team Rocket.

Meanwhile Claydol saw the future or A future? He wasn’t truly certain if it was THE future. But still, it would be enough to make it act. Using ANCIENT POWER, it would pull rocks out from the nearby outcrop, still keeping the cover intact more or less.

The Rocks would fly at Johanna’s shadow, flying dangerously close as they did.

Johanna went to work mining as well as she could. From time to time she would glance toward Thomas, just making sure he was doing alright on his end. After all, she was feeling the radiation reaching for her mind at the edges constantly.

It was on one of these glances that she caught sight of something that began to manifest. Splatters of a white liquid floated in the air, circling something that moments later appeared as a small pink shape with stubby legs, comparatively long arms, and a star shaped crown with wish tags upon.



For a moment it seemed to only ponder their reasoning for being here. But then it attacked, sending the white splattering liquid at Johanna.

Pallosand quickly reformed, saving Johanna from white certain death. Luckily the appearing Milrachi did not seem to pose the vaste strength of its legendary half as it quickly fell to a combined HYPNOSIS and EARTH POWER assault.

While horror was granted to Johanna in the form of a fusion beast, it seemed Alexei was given something to lighten the mood?

Even Johanna found the sight amusing. But something told her that it wouldn’t be the last time they saw something like this. So, as her Pokemon reconvened with her she pondered the continued success of their mining if they stayed.

And as if on cue she felt a wave of mental anguish gripping her, like a bad dizzying headache. She looked to the walls of the cave and saw its sudden fleshy texture. Eye-like shapes adorning the walls, providing a momentary peek into another world?

Whatever it was she saw, it certainly wasn’t good. They ought to get out.

“I think we might’ve overstayed our welcome. Let’s just grab what we can carry and get out of here?” She suggested with full intent to carry her intentions out.

Johanna eased a bit from a tension she had not noticed. It was good to know that Navy still had heart enough to see the unfortunate souls for what they are.

The sudden change in scenery that became available caught her attention, but that didn’t stop her from hearing what Navy explained. But before she could even acknowledge it the battle was on.

Luckily Claydol was well trained, years of experience had honed its reaction. And so as both Ice Beam and Hydro Pump came flying toward it, it vanished into thin air alongside Johanna as it TELEPORTED away.

When Claydol reappeared it was behind a particularly large rocky outcropping on the battlefield which would provide it and Johanna with protective Cover.

Johanna gave Claydol an appreciative smile and affirming nod.

Claydol knew it could not rest on its laurels right now. Navy’s Pokemon would come for them. It was just a matter of how. And as such Claydol began to peer into the future with FUTURE SIGHT, specifically for the Greninja. But who knows when the damaging part of that move would appear?

Whatever this organ was, it seemed to retreat at the use of force. Probably for the better to be honest.

Admittedly Johanna was starting to get a bit tired of the place so the moment both of her fellow companions began to talk about leaving, she felt a great inclination to agree.

This she would voice with a simple few words. “Yeah, let’s get out of here.” And with that she’d join them in leaving this accursed sea.

Though she knew this would not be the last time she was here.

With a nod Johanna came to an agreement with Vanilla. Spinning rides it was. But firstly they took a detour to try their hands at the dugtrio-ring-toss.

Johanna watched Vanilla do her best and win a small prize. With the flames of competition now lit Johanna couldn’t NOT try.

"Sure I can give it a try!"

Johanna paid what needed to be paid and was given the rings to throw. She took aim as carefully as she could, body tensing in the process, before she let the rings fly. She managed to hit with half of them, winning one of the medium prizes.

The prize she was handed was a small Bewear keychain accessory. She gratefully accepted the prize and looked toward Vanilla, to gauge if she wanted another go or if she wanted to move on.

Oh right…

Johanna felt silly for even considering it. In her eagerness to help she had completely forgotten Megan’s prior occupation. But what little tenseness tried to latch onto her was quickly eased as Megan didn’t seem offended by the suggestion.

Megan even came with a suggestion of her own. And honestly, Johanna wondered why she hadn’t thought of it first.

Johanna feigned thinking about it. But honestly, the answer was already clear to her. “Sure do. We can use all the strong Gym Trainers we can gather.” Johanna had no doubt that Megan would do well as a Gym trainer, even threatening her current second in command position. But that didn’t bother her at all, healthy competition and all.

“But just so you know it’s not all fun and battles. There is plenty of paperwork to do and manual labor to perform.” Now why did imagining Megan fulfilling that role feel so familiar?

She had never been much for riding Pokemon. She did it only out of necessity. But the thought, however imaginative it was, of riding Ho-Oh like this was entertaining.

Who hadn’t dreamed of soaring upon the back of a Legendary Pokemon after all? Admittedly being native to Hoenn, she had dreamed of riding upon the back of the great green serpent.

Nevertheless she enjoyed the ride from beginning to end and even the middle. From time to time she would gaze toward Josh and Raikiri making sure they were enjoying it as much as she was.

Lathiel came close. Johanna stood her ground for a moment letting the Type: Null know that she wouldn’t cover at the threat of physical danger. After all, it wouldn’t be the first time a Pokemon threatened her.

But with that said and done Johanna did step away, giving the Type: Null enough space for it to be comfortable once more. As she turned her attention to Shalin.

A wide smile beamed from her lips as she replied while following the young woman. “I am the one who should be thanking you.” It really was. Everyone coming together to make this thing as special as it could be, whether they be volunteers or hired help was appreciated.

“Unfortunately I was not.” She admitted. Not because she didn’t want to, but simply the schedules never aligned. Luckily for Johanna, Shalin confessed the desire to spend time with her, and as a way to payback the efforts Shalin had offered the Carnival she could do nothing else but accept.

“Sure! Anywhere in particular you want to wander toward?” Johanna asked, noticing that the Type: Null was once more by her side, but otherwise keeping a comfortable distance.

While Johanna trusted Shalin to have control over her Pokemon, she’d still keep awareness of it readily in her mind.

Johanna was about to debate the semantics, but realized that not only would the effort be futile, Isaac would probably be able to win that battle.

And so she gave this round’s victory to Isaac. And just in time for the fries to arrive. But before the food could be consumed a question was posed to her. “Maybe one of those drop towers?” Johanna spoke for a moment forgetting that they were about to consume a heavy’ish meal.

Speaking off, she began to nibble at the food while waiting for Isaac to reply.
