Johanna was taken aback by the use of expeditiously. It was not a word she had heard often and definitely not from people like Andrea. But it did give her some reassurance that Andrea’s spirit has not broken, if she could dig deep for weird words like that.

“We will get out as quickly as possible.” Johanna reassured the PokéManiac while trying to keep as cool a head as possible. She had to make sure not to make promises that couldn’t be kept or were easily used against them. After all, their wardens were probably listening to what they were talking about.

But then Andrea dropped a rather morbid bomb on her.

“I did not know that.- ” Johanna grew a bit pale, the thought of becoming someone’s dinner was unpleasant at best. But once the nauseating thought had passed, she steeled her resolve as much as she could and spoke.

“- But all the more reason for us to stay calm and focused. We should not give them a reason to grow hungry.”

“I might run a Funtasia Tour again.” Johanna spoke cheerfully. “It was quite the success.” She continued. All the marketing data they had gotten afterwards did point toward a positive reaction.

Anyhow data aside, Johanna did note the offer that Shalin gave and to that she had but one reply. “I may just have to take you up on that offer, if not for a mobile version then certainly for one at the Ever Grande Location.”

There was a point in time where Johanna’s Flutter Mane had thought it sufficient with a fiery deflection. It had brought the Kartana to a halt shortly. And for the briefest of moments Ghost stood before an Army of blades like a singular swordsman waiting for the inevitable clash.

The clash came at the sound of a snapped bamboo as Johanna ran. A fiery dance of MYSTICAL FIRE appeared, but the Flutter Mane quickly realized that all it could do was run, and so it followed in the footsteps of its trainer.

Lasciel chose wisely when she picked her location for waiting. Johanna and the Flutter Mane exited straight through a cluster of bamboo leading the Kartana into the trap Lasciel had set.

- 26 involve the classic trope of a swordsman's showdown or duel, the training of the blade, to intrude and explore a bamboo fortress heavily guarded by kartana.

Just exploring somewhere, no hassle, no distractions, no factions or fighting. None of it, just her and Megan and some good ol’ adventuring. Now THAT was an idea she could get behind, whether the future wanted it to happen or not.

“Yeah let’s do that!” She spoke her voice chipper, eager even to do that with Megan. “Got someplace in mind?” Johanna didn’t know whether there were still places in Hoenn that Megan hadn’t visited yet. Honestly, she would be surprised if there was.

Was it hours or was it moments? Johanna didn’t know, but however long it took she found herself in the sudden presence of the one person they had been waiting for, a person whom posed a very good question.

“So… what’re we looking for down there?”

And the only answer Johanna could offer him was “Adventure!” She spoke with a chuckle but knew that it might not be the answer he was looking for. “Do we need any more reason than that?”



MISSION: THE GREAT CHASM OF HOENN

Pleasantries were exchanged both between trainer and Pokemon before the harder hitting question was given by Lam. “Oh I’ve been doing pretty good. Been busy of course, but still good.” She began. “I have been missing the Gym Circuit though, so I might have to go at it again, but as a challenger this time.” She admitted.

It was by then that the second Seviper slithered up to her and offered her the bounty it had caught. “For me?” She asked the snape and it hissed happily in acknowledgement. Johanna sighed and grabbed one of her Pokéballs. With it she performed a quick capture and prayed that would be the end of it.

Vas the Seviper had other plans. Not far from there it saw something rustling about and honestly it felt like hunting so it did.

“Oh here we go again.” Another sigh escaped her alongside the muttered words as she watched the serpent set in pursuit of what she noticed was a Grafaiai. Unfortunately for the small primate the Seviper was quick to coil around it and halt any attempt at fighting back.

And while that was happening she returned her attention to Lam. “And how have you been doing?”

Her first ghostly visitor was a Haunter that floated aimlessly about looking for something. For a moment she considered catching it. She was almost certain that her Gengar would enjoy another playmate.

But Angelica, the Sableye on her shoulder, had other plans. Through trickery with its shadow it scared off the ghost before releasing a tiny snicker.

“Angelica, that wasn’t very nice of you!” Johanna spoke, a sigh followed shortly after. The Sableye was as always a bit of an uncontrollable prankster.

Solo Wild

Everyone took their ready position and with a few quick words from Alexei the battle could begin.

“Ethan, slow and steady.” Johanna commanded and with that the Dragapult flew off into the air. She might have said slow and steady but steady was the only word that might fit as the Dragapult darted around in the air making himself a hard target to hit.

But of course he was not just going to fly around like a mad-ghost. As he flew around he took aim and when he felt it suitable he would let a salvo of tiny incredibly tiny dreepy fly. These small missiles would seek to latch onto his opponent in a veritable INFESTATION.

Shalin’s joy became Johanna’s joy alongside the rest of the onlookers. Now that was what this was about, this whole theme park, to spread joy to others.

Johanna figured Shalin might wish to talk after the show, and so she waited for most of the crowd to disperse. But before she could make her way onto the stage, Shalin’s venusaur extended a Shalin-clad vine toward her.

“As lovely as that sounds, just watching is more than enough for me.” Johanna replied with a bright smile on her lips. Though she had to admit that the thought of sharing such an experience piqued her curiosity.

She didn’t know what was worse. The screaming that had echoed throughout the prison a few hours earlier or the deafening silence. Johanna hadn’t moved from her position. Had she decided to deal with this stress by dissociating into pleasant thoughts about Megan Whitmore? Perhaps. But no more than that the loud banging of Andrea’s mask against bars pulled her out of her thoughts.

It was only then that she truly came to realize how bad Andrea was taking this. She got up from her seated resting place up against the wall and stepped toward Andrea.

She tried to place a calming hand on the PokéManiac's shoulder as she spoke. “What are we going to do?” Johanna repeated her voice as cheerful as she could force it to be. “We are going to get through this no matter what happens.” They had to, she had to get home to Megan. “Remember, no matter what they do it will not be enough to break through our TOUGHNESS.”

A familiar nausea clung tightly to her to her head as Johanna arose from a slumber she did not remember entering. The air she inhaled tasted disgusting and something warm and clammy clung to her face.

As she opened her eyes and realized she had been sleeping up against an unknown wall she felt panic set in. Her hands started to search for her Pokeballs, but she felt unfamiliar fabric against her touch instead and found neither Pokéballs, pockets or even accessories. Only something that upon closer inspection looked like a Kitakami attire.

This was not her bedroom nor was it anywhere she particularly remembered. It didn’t even look like a Rocket Jail cell, even those looked better than this. She took a deep inhalation even though the air made her want to puke, and calmed down the panic that she felt rising. She had trained for capture-situations like these as a grunt of Team Rocket, and finally it came in handy. If they expected her to break easily, they would be sorely disappointed. At least that was what she kept telling herself.

Around her she could hear fellow prisoners rising to the panic, some howling for help others for legal-rights. But Johanna stayed quiet, stayed put. If she wasn’t a problematic prisoner then whoever their warden was would surely feel disinclined to make an example of her. Still, it pained her to hear familiar voices like Ettie’s fearfully calling for help. Even her cell-mate's voice sounded somewhat familiar, as if they had met at least once before.

Too bad the mask hid their identity.

“Hi.” She would reply with as much cheer as she could summon. They had to keep hope high. “So, Tax evasion, huh? Must’ve been some pretty hefty amount for them to send you straight to jail.” Johanna joked.

“Jokes aside. I do not think it is a good idea to cause too much of a ruckus at this point.” She tried to advise her cellmate, but she doubted a panicking person would heed it.

When news of a monkey related competition reached Johanna’s ears, she quickly and eagerly jumped on the task. But poetry had never been her strong suit, yet somehow after much hmm’ing she managed to write something that could pass for poetry.
