Getting Johanna over the back of the Arcanine was easy enough, even with the limpness of her body making her heavier than usual.

No Negotiations would be necessary. The Claydol jumped into its ball readily enough, but Gengar could not because its Pokéball was gone, crushed by vile space-cannibals under the control of toxic-mochi.

Gengar followed instead as the group ran off trying to find the nearest Ambulance or hospital whichever one came first, the answer to that would lie in Megan’s luck.

Memories of the past were easily pushed aside by the smell and taste of delicious sandwiches. How easily Mochi-caused fear was eradicated by company and proper food.

But they could not sit there and eat forever. No, they had to return to their task. That large Tera Crystal would not excavate itself.

But as they returned they saw Interdream Mist Encroaching. Andrea offered protection. Johanna accepted the offer with a firm nod, yet she had all intentions of fighting as well. Her hand reached for a Pokéball of her own, while she felt the Palossand growing tense on her body. Hardening itself as an armor of sorts.

The Ogre began to yapp at her angrily. And for a moment she found herself taking a step back, cold sweat began to form. Though she tried her best to not lose her composure when faced with the awful memories.

Luckily Andrea eased the task by calming the beast down and showing off some 3D Model of the mask they intended to make. She still wasn’t convinced, but she wasn’t about to anger the Ogre further. And so all she responded with was an “I see.”

Moving on the topic changed to Johanna’s intentions for the crystal she nabbed. A smile and a blush grew on her cheeks. “It’s a gift for… Someone.” She halted herself, about to say the recipients name (Megan Whitmore) but realized with the Ogerpon’s desire for Crystals that doing so would only paint a Heist target on Megan’s back.

That certainly isn’t a good sign.

Johanna pondered as she saw Alexei staring into the distance through perimeter fencing only to be pulled back into the real world by the squawkings of one of his Pokemon.

Knowing that he was here now, Johanna raised her arm in greeting as she approached him before she spoke. “I hope I am not interrupting something important?”

She had a feeling she wasn’t but better courteous than apologetic.

A Joltik greeted her. Luckily Johanna had no issues with such Pokemon. It quickly directed her attention to the one she sought.

She gave the young man a it's-alright hand wave gesture and when Hideo confirmed her identity she simply gave a nod, thoughtlessly forgetting certain disabilities were a thing.

But either way she followed and momentarily pondered Hideo’s question. For a moment she considered offering him a sweet lie, to tell him that there was something that called her to this gym. But there was no such thing, and in the end it would be cruel to do so.

“Honestly, I intend to do the whole circuit and yours were just the next on the list.”

Andrea was cut by the Tera shards. An all too familiar feeling that she still remembered too well. But before Johanna could extend a helping hand Ogerpon was there. The hand Johanna had been moments from extending was retracted again, fingers closing on something invisible.

Right, she didn’t need her help, they were no longer cellmates after all. Andrea had Ogerpon now. The Palossand on her back extended a sandy part of it, firmly placing itself on her shoulder in reassurance of the validity of her efforts.

“Are you sure that it is a good idea to recreate those?” Johanna asked with some concern, not trying to villainize the idea as she grabbed a big piece of Tera Crystal for herself.

“Why not try to make some - ” She halted for a moment trying to find the right word before she had to give up and simply go with a simple “- nicer ones?” The memories of the masks were unpleasant to Johanna, so she could only imagine how unpleasant they may be for Ogerpon.

They had to be unpleasant right?

The next Pokemon to stumble on their path was a Pichu. It ran head first straight into them, and as Johanna looked closer she saw a group of older Pikachu following it. Clearly bullies the way they had hunted it.

And so she picked it up. Now safe in her arms the bullies seemed to feel less inclined to pursue. And so left them alone. The ground rising in battle display from Claydol and its EARTH POWER certainly helped as well.

When they were gone Johanna offered it a Safari Ball, hoping it would accept it.

A little Pikipek had told her a story. A story she did not want to believe. Alexei Ivanov had been discharged as a Gym Leader. She was certain the League had their reasons, they always did. Whatever these reasons were, she knew it would only foster pain in Alexei. After all, the reality of things was this. The League did not care for kind people who were no longer useful, even if they had just been through Penitentiary-Hell.

But Alexei's dismissal laid in front of her an opportunity. One she could not deny. That’s why not long after her return, and barely recovered she had thrown herself back into her work. Using her Claydol to Teleport to Fortree and made her way to the Sanctuary looking for him.

Clad in casual attire she made her way through the entrance followed by her Pokemon companion

She was about to reassert her dibs, when she looked at the Ogerpon and hesitated. Memories of the beatings it had given before ached healed and healing bruises on her body. “Actually. I’ll settle for second prettiest then.” She commented

And with that they were on their way. Walking through the tunnels for a bit until they came to find a huge chunk of Tera. For what she wanted to make this chunk was definitely too big, but perhaps they could cut it into a smaller piece?

“Yeah!” Johanna’s voice joined the chorus. And like Andrea she summoned a Pokémon of her own. Not a Dragon, but a Fairy.

The Tinkaton appeared by Johanna’s side. “Ruby help them excavate that crystal.”

The Tinkaton took its hammer and quickly went to work helping its draconic companions as readily as it could.

“So, what are you going to use the Tera Crystal for?”

“I am.” Johanna acknowledged.

A smile formed on her lips as she noticed the Ogerpon’s child-like nagging. It was nice to see that their efforts, however little her part of it was, had paid off and freed it.

“Sure.” Johanna gave a nod, and the Sandcastle hiding on her back gave a sandy thumbs up. And with that they tagged along with Andrea and Ogerpon.

”Though fair warning, I call dibs on the prettiest crystal in here.”

“Meg…” The word spoken, barely loud enough for anyones’ ears to hear. Her body had grown heavy, she did not move. Every ounce of energy in her body had dissipated as Johanna had returned to home.

Johanna grew limp, knocked out by exhaustion and the wounds on her back.

Luckily for Arcanine neither Claydol nor Gengar needed any catching. One caught itself in its psychic energies and the other, well became a shadow on impact before returning to its form. Not that they paid much attention to the canine Pokemon.

Both Pokemon hurried over to Megan and their unconscious trainer, quickly reaching out to help both.

Should She be cave diving this soon after just barely returning whole from an Ultra Spacial Prison? Definitely not. Where Megan Whitmore going to berate her for not bringing her along? Definitely

But she couldn't bring her. She would know what she was planning if she did, and that would ruin the surprise.

And so though her body still aches after the healing treatments she had been through, and the ones she still needed to go through. She made her way into one of the many terastal crystal caves of Hoenn.

Fumbling about as only she could, she heard footsteps in the distance and thought it wise to go in that direction.

Only when the voice spoke did she recognize it as her former Cellmate.

“It's me, Johanna.” She would reply in return. As she stepped closer and closer.

At first she might seem to be alone but the red of a Palossand shovel peeking up on her back would reveal that the sandy ghost was keeping her company, hiding beneath a layer of her very baggy but comfortable clothes.
