He had the absolute confidence in illeana reyes, after all, and whatever fancy work she'd have to do to uncover the research that was oh-so-important that they had to go digging for it.

[break][break] Ollie disappeared back into the water with a sudden splash, navigating the submerged depths of Sea Mauville as easily as he did the mountains that surrounded Evergrande City.

[break][break] As he swam through, he pulled up his RangerNav that was wrapped around his wrist. It would connect to a device seated next to John Sullivan — if the doctor didn't wanna get wet, then he could at least help Ollie navigate the waters from dryland.

Emerald eyes shifted towards Daphnée Marseille as she headed first for the young child. Something in his expression softened.

[break][break] Before commenting on it, though, Ollie headed towards the hurt Mantine. From the supply pack around his waist, he pulled out a POTION to temporarily heal the injured fin and then deftly wrapped bandages around it for a temporary fix until they could get them back to the first aid tent.

[break][break] "Daphnee's right," Ollie said with a nod. "You can trust us."

[break][break] As the young trainer pointed towards a cavern that seemed to be blocked by several more boulders, he shared a look with the other woman.

[break][break] "I'll be fine, but..."

[break][break] He shook his head.

[break][break] "We should stay together. I've been on a few expeditions — the pokemon are more dangerous than you'd think. C'mon, we'll be quick."

Nodding in agreement, Ollie trusted his Pidgeot to lead the group of civilians towards safety while he and Jack handled the raging Gyarados.

[break][break] "Nice thinking, Jack! C'mon, let's go Stache!"

[break][break] With the raging pokemon briefly paralyzed by the SCARY FACE, he whistled for his Dragonite to take advantage. Strong wing-beats propelled a TWISTER out of the orange dragon, pushing the Gyarados further out into sea.

[break][break] Together, they managed to bring the wild Pokémon out of its frenzy. It shook itself free from it's agitation, before then turning and disappearing into the sea, so that it could nurse it's aching body in piece.

Despite how GIDEON GRAVES probably thought his impression was a mockery, Ollie was more than thrilled to see it come to fruition. His smile widened.

It was one cultivated through years of fieldwork, through dedication and passion.

Ollie slams his hand against the prismatic mirror, which somehow manages to be the magical key, cause all he can hear is a loud thud as the pokemon slams against the glass.

[break][break] The Head Ranger can only breathe a loud sigh of relief, before glancing at Lam and then buckling over in laughter.

[break][break] "Arceus. Lam, that was fucking crazy."

[break][break] Why the hell were they were here again? Oh - yeah - research.

[break][break] Arceus, Ollie wasn't built for this. But with the threat gone - at least for the moment - the Head Ranger can take a more casual gait as he leads the way through the rest of the corridor, squinting as he watches the floor glisten with what appears to be Z-Crystals. Except they're tiny and black, and look just a little bit poisonous, so the Ranger inside of him advises that it probably wouldn't be a good idea to pick them up.
