Ollie struggled with the memory of it. A part of him had once wanted to see MATIAS SILPH destroyed, just as much as probably Rocket did. He'd hurt both his sister and Penny beyond repair.

[break][break] But seeing Matias in that hospital bed... seeing him so malformed atop that mountain, bubbling beneath that black sun, Ollie regretted it. He could never hate another person that way, not even MATIAS SILPH.

[break][break] "If you realize it, then why are you still talking about avatarship like that, Josh? Like it's something to choose?"

[break][break] Ollie's words are neutral. If anything, they are painfully genuine. Because Josh is right — as someone who is deeply involved in Sapphire, he should know more than anyone that avatarship was just as much a boon as it was a sacrifice.

[break][break] And it shouldn't have taken just kyle lopez's death to figure that out.

[break][break] Maybe he was just bitter.

It's not something Ollie hasn't done before. He has a sense of deja vu as the room squeezes tight, even as he and his pokemon wear away at the crystal rock, attempting to mine it for it's ore.

[break][break] But as the room shudders with sudden power, even the Head Ranger's gaze grows blurry. He reminds himself not to look, knowing what's in store for him, but he can't help it. His gaze flicks to the sight of movement, and the sight of two young children staring back at them. Blond hair and amber eyes. Blond hair and green eyes.

[break][break] The simulation shifts and suddenly, they are tossed into a mysterious tomb. In that moment, Ollie can only think of one thing. It's not the archeological dust, or the creepy tombstones or even the cold hard floor.

[break][break] Standing across from them is a creepy ghost, even creepier than the leftover lasagna that he spotted in Remiel Calcifet's fridge last time that he was over.

[break][break] For once, the Head Ranger seems exasperated. Or scared. One of them.
