Up bright and early in the morning as always, Noel began another day of his ongoing journey into the world. He had been running low on supplies but especially food and he decided for today that fish would be on the menu. He sets out with his standard attire of a plain blue shirt, track shorts and sandals towards the rocky sea. Finding a wooden raft that he knew not who it belonged to but no one was using so he took it for himself that day, he would bring it back later if he remembered. Wading through the sea he stops and anchors his wooden vessel somewhere not too close or far away from Desiree Bloom's own platform. Yet he didn't pay her any attention just yet. Although he had the tools to fish like any normal person could, he instead brings out a pokeball from his belt containing his trusty Druddigon. Setting him out onto the water, it immediately begins to use its claws to swipe at the nearby fish, causing waves to form from all its thrashing about that would definitely disturb any other raft in the sea.[break][break]

Ha ha ha! Just like that Druddigon, make sure you catch enough fish for all of us to eat tonight!"[break][break]

The pair were making a huge commotion, their ruckus could be heard all over and were quite possibly disturbing any other people trying to fish on this otherwise normal day. They were surely scaring away most of the fish in the area causing most others to sail and try their luck in another location. Yet Noel was oblivious to all this, he was only thinking of himself and his own needs and not paying attention to anything else.[break][break]

Navy

The sheer power of just one of Navy's pokemon amazed Noel, struck by awe, he had lost focus just for a moment and returned to his senses. The magnitude of this quake caused his feet to lose balance, bending one knee down to catch himself and then slowly but surely standing back up although it was no easy task. His pokemon all also struggled to keep up with the Garchomp's relentless assault on the land. Each and every one of them falling down and trying their best to keep up with the beast's tempo. [break][break]

"Tch... You don't know anything! I will be strong... I have to be or else what more is there for me![break][break]

He yells out in anger, losing himself to the fury building up inside him. He looks to his pokemon and thinks quickly. Turning to his Rowlet and shouting.[break][break]

"Go Rowlet, fly up high as high as you can!"[break][break]

Even though he knew his pokemon might not be a match for Navy's Garchomp, he had to give anything that could possibly give him a win a try. Rowlet looks to his trainer with uncertainty yet it had no choice. It gets onto its feet and begins to soar up into the sky. Flapping its wings with desperation so high up that most couldn't see it anymore. It wasn't until a few seconds later that an object started falling the sky. What looked like a meteor crashing into the earth was actually this pokemon's means of attack. This Brave Bird would give everything in its power with this attack. Flying straight down and aiming for the monster Garchomp's head.[break][break]

Due to Noel's ignorance and failure to keep up with the modern world, he didn't know much of the state of violence Hoenn was smothered with. He had seen some of the terrible deeds that Rocket was capable with and knew that this was a power that needed to be taken down. Yet this time perhaps Noel bit off more than he could chew. [break][break]

"I don't really care who or what you are. Doesn't make a difference to me that I know I must defeat you."[break][break]

The nimble but frail Frogadier had been caught by the opposing Pokemon's Rock Slide. It had fallen to the floor and was now slowly rising back to its feet but not without any trouble. Noel saw this along with its tired Druddigon still somehow standing. It was clearly showing signs of fatigue and now doubt began to fill his mind. Could he really win? Or would he do what he feared the most, retreat. [break][break]

Navy's taunt only infuriated Noel. How could he only bring out one Pokemon, it was like Navy was mocking the rookie trainer and Noel had had enough. He takes out each of his Pokeballs, 2 in each hand and tosses them out into the field. Out comes his Druddigon, Frogadier, Eevee and Rowlet. While not the most intimidating bunch they were still his companions that would accompany him on his journey.[break][break]

"I'll show you what I'm made of, don't underestimate me or you'll regret it."[break][break]

With a swift forward motion, his Pokemon immediately understood that now was the time to advance. They all charge forward, surrounding the battle-hardened Garchomp. Druddigon was to his front, Eevee on its left, Rowlet to its right and Frogadier on the rear. They all carefully observed the Garchomp, awaiting its next movement.

Noel surveys the area around them. What a better setting than the beach he so frequently visited and trained at. With all eyes around them Noel takes one of his pokeballs from his belt and nonchalantly bounces it up into the air and catches it over and over again while looking straight into Navy's eyes. He knew this would be no easy task laid before him but he would give it all he's got.[break][break]

"To defeat people like you, and claim the top as my one and only spot. In my life this has been all I've ever thought about and I'd have no meaning otherwise."[break][break]

He then finally catches the pokeball one last time and thrusts his arm forward with ball in hand pointed at Navy.[break][break]

"Now is talking all you want us to do or are we going to battle?"[break][break]

There was arrogance in his voice. He didn't know what the outcome of this fight would be nor what would happen afterwards. Yet he knew this is what had to be done or else he'd never let down this moment. His heart was racing and his head was filled on thoughts of the battle to come.[break][break]

The Druddigon was bruised and beaten yet it wasn't down for the count just yet. Sensing that Fire Punch from behind, it lifts its tail up for a counterattack. Slamming it against the blue leader, sending it flying a moderate distance onto a brick wall with a Dragon Tail.[break][break]

Noel was observing the carnage of a battle that was unfolding before him. He then reaches out for another pokeball and throws it out in front of him. This time his Frogadier appears, eager to battle.

"I hope you don't mind if I make this more of an even fight for my Druddigon. Although it really says something of you Rocket types to gang up on a lone pokemon like this, afraid of losing maybe?"[break][break]

Frogadier targets the now lone blue-furred Lycanroc that had just been singled out from the rest of the pack. It releases a Smokescreen from its mouth, obscuring the area around the leader. Frogadier enters inside for a one versus one duel against it, running around the Lycanroc with high speed from its Double Team.[break][break]

The shadowy mist surprised Noel, never before had he seen something like that. But it was but a brief distraction to the oncoming fight. Druddigon just barely jumps backwards in time, its neck getting nicked which was no easy task due to its Rough Skin. It winced slightly but stood fierce and strong awaiting its owner's command.[break][break]

"Hey not bad, you can keep doing whatever trick that is back there but now its time for me to get serious. Druddigon, give it all you've got!"[break][break]

Hearing Noel's order it finally gets ready to go on the offensive. It begins to charge forward towards the red-furred Lycanroc, readying its mighty hands with a Dragon Claw. It swings forward, aiming for the Lycanroc's body which was tiny compared to its own, if it landed it would no doubt cause major harm.[break][break]

Noel took a moment to reflect on himself. Why did he want to become a trainer? The idea of being the best at battles was what he thought to be the sole reason for it. But perhaps there was something much more than that, in any case he pushed those thoughts into the back of his mind and gave what he thought to be a satisfactory answer to Navy.[break][break]

"I want to be the best. It has been my dream to claim the top for myself and hold the title for my own. And I won't stop until I make that dream come true and I won't let anyone get in the way. Not even you."[break][break]

He stared deep into Navy's eyes. A look so fierce and passionate it would make any normal person uncomfortable with fear. A huge crowd had now formed around the two, uncertain of what was going to happen. Many of them eager to see what would happen next. But to Noel this audience didn't matter, in his view there was only one thing right in front of his eyes.[break][break]

Noel takes note of the increasing tension that was rising between the two trainers. He looked to his surroundings to make sure no one else would interrupt for this to be an even fight. He lets out a hearty laugh full of confidence for he was so sure of himself to win. He stares right into Cillian's eyes with a fire burning in his eyes. He had grown bored of the trek to the city and finally some excitement had found its way to him.[break][break]

"I'd like to see you try. If you're so tough how about you prove it right now? I'll take every one of you Rocket crones in my way."[break][break]

With his self boosted ego he presses the button on his pokeball to let loose his Druddigon right beside him. It enters with a vicious roar as it eyes the competition. Its claws out being shown off right in front of the Lycanrocs ready to take on any foe. All it was waiting for now was the order to strike.[break][break]

"So what do you say huh? Think you can take me on? I'll mop the floor of this dirty city with you once we're done."[break][break]

Part of the reason Noel came to this carnival was because he had heard that Dewford's gym leader would be here. He wanted nothing more than to challenge him to a battle even in the middle of a crowd like this. To Noel he was nothing but a stepping stone to prove his worth as the best trainer out there. He had only heard the rumors about Navy through the locals about his gym challenge and how no one really knows what goes on inside. But today was the day Noel wanted to make a name for himself and search out for Navy. [break][break]

It took some time wading through the crowd in order to find this person Noel so longingly wanted to battle. Not until he took note of a certain crowd with the man himself at the center. Noel's mind began to focus on just one thing, the need to fight this man that could change his life forever. He pushed through everyone until he finally was face to face against Navy. He took a long look into Navy's eyes and once he heard his greeting, Noel replied.[break][break]

"My name is Noel and I wish to have a battle with you."[break][break]

Straight and to the point, Noel spared no time in asking the question he so desired. He would try and get what he wanted now even if he had to force Navy.[break][break]

Noel stopped talking once he heard this new voice enter the mix. From the tone in this new person's voice he knew trouble was about to start. He slowly turned around and gave off a side gaze towards the new figure. Eyeing them up from head to toe to ascertain the new potential threat. He then fully turned his body to face the newcomer. Noting all of his pokemon he puts a hand to his belt on one of his pokeballs. Getting ready for a potential fight.[break][break]

"Hmph... I'm no citizen, just someone passing through this city for the first time and this is the first thing I see." [break][break]

Based on the aura this person was giving off Noel knew he had gotten himself into something much larger than he had bargained for. He had hoped to just take down these Rocket members that were much lower on the chain of command and be on his way but now here was someone much higher in rank based on the reactions from the members around him.[break][break]

"Although from the look of it you might be the one with the problem."[break][break]

Noel gave off a smirk towards the Rocket boss. He was trying to egg him on and was now awaiting his reaction.[break][break]

From the way she spoke, Noel could tell that this person was far from home. He had never heard anyone speak this way before and he was taken back a bit by the regal tone in her voice. Umbreon? Gengar? These names meant nothing to him but he deduced at least that these were pokemon names. He gazed into her eyes to see if she meant no harm to him or to the town. He paused a bit before replying, as if he wasn't sure if he even should reply at all but decided to be somewhat friendly with this stranger.[break][break]

"My... name is Noel. If training is what you seek then you've come to the right place. I frequently visit these caves to do a bit of training myself and was on my to the beach to do some more."[break][break]

The Mauville gym... The gym challenge was his dream and here was a person already on her own journey. He couldn't help but feel a bit of envy as he had yet even started but was preparing practically his whole life for. All he needed was that nudge to get his adventure started.[break][break]

"If you want you can come with me and I can show you the way. I can help you out on your own training if you'd like. Based on that pokemon down there it looks like you could use it."[break][break]

His eyes then fixated onto the Gengar that was laying its body on the ground, resting and gave a light chuckle.[break][break]
