“Come on!” There were many high buildings in Slateport, many places where they could lay low.[break][break]

She was quiet for a long time after Howard told his story. Zaria worked at her sword, sharpening it to a polish. Memories of a time so old men had forgotten it played across her mind. Around them, wyrd lights shone. When she looked at them, she thought she saw her own reflection cast back, eyes cast deep in shadow.[break][break]
“Movies.” She finally said. “I wonder if I can accompany you back to your world, when Galar is free. The Rider seems adamant you will both return once Eternatus is vanquished.” She sat her sword aside, returning it to a dark leather scabbard.[break][break]

Maybe calling for some of the Bureau’s best is a bit overkill, but he doesn’t trust the task to anyone else. Best to let the proper authorities handle a tigress like her.[break][break]

A few sweet words, suddenly Dave is thinking with the wrong head. Suddenly, he gets a little too close. Suddenly, she snaps his neck and runs off looking for Navy, wanting another date.[break][break]
“You hungry?” He asks, peering up at her with practiced disinterest. “I can get Dave to get us lunch.”

“Play fight?” This part always made his heart sink. It is a terrible thing, to put a child through the ringer. His memory flashes back to his fallen brother, who was used to play fighting. Navy wonders again, not for the first or last time, what Gabriel Navidson thought as he died.[break][break]
“No. You’ve got to fight me for real. Rocket doesn’t play fight.” With a press of a button, he throws off the rhythm of the match. Cold, sterile walls give way to a cold, sterile elevator shaft. Something unlatches, and their platform begins its steady descent into the arena below. Smaug rushes forward, meeting the rough play with a breaking swipe. Flicking his wings out, the great dragon pulls up with all of his force, all the while the platform descends.[break][break]
Smaug roars down at the dog, circling while the platform descends.[break][break]
“Expect the unexpected, and understand Rocket ain’t gonna play fair if they catch your pack out in the open.”[break][break]
Steel gives way to open air. They descend towards a waste land of granite, a battlefield that might seem more a playground to those of a certain nature. Flying up, a Salamence bathes the center of the platform in flames. Smaug kicks off into the open air around them, their pitch descending towards its destination below.

Roaring Moon is hit by play rough, retaliates with a breaking swipe, and flies up. As the platform descends, Salamence joins in and uses flamethrower on Stoutland.

“You don’t gotta ask permission for something like that.” He smiles, despite himself. Perhaps it speaks to his character, that the simulated king is already forgotten. There are many battles on the warrior’s road. Dwelling on these ghosts while so many others haunt him is foolish.[break][break]
He casts those thought aside, and he hugs this brave girl. He feels his age, and he wonders if his daughter is somewhere out there, acting as brave as Genny acts here. Some part of him daydreams about the idea of them being friend, and suddenly he feels even older.[break][break]
“Just survive, alright? Go home to Isaac when everything’s said and done. This war’s gonna end one day.” Navy is warm, like leather left out in the sun. As he holds the embrace, grateful for simple friendship, they are swept up in a wall of white. The world around them fades, the simulation ends, and they are once more in Hoenn.
