If this situation were less strenuous, than the fact that the Rocket had laughed at her for claiming he was under arrest would have affected her. Embarassed her. If anything, she had looked up to paxton concordas, and if nothing else, wanted to emulate that...[break][break]

Unfortunately, thanks to a lovely little ENCORE from the Rocket, all Pet Shop can do is blast another Whirlwind. Something that Genny would have to contend with. When the Rocket ignores her, Genny considers an idea.[break][break]

If Pet Shop can only blast with wind, then there was a way to fight back.[break][break]

Confidence surges, as she orders Pet Shop to dive again, the Ledyba not even on her mind, ignored. Ollie has her back, so she has his. And as she dives downwards with Pet Shop, she looks below, directly below where Neon was. Hazel eyes move upwards.[break][break]

He'd do best not to underestimate her. "Whirlwind, straight up. Blast them out of the sky." With a clap of wings, Pet Shop throws everything into the clapping of wings. If he wanted an encore...[break][break]

He'll get one.

There's more of them?! Genny's hazel eyes narrow in agitation, as it seems there's more. Some of them having surrounded Ebony, and some surrounding the two trainers.[break][break]

Genny thinks fast. While Mint calls her a rookie again, she's not going to argue. Quite the contrary, that would be stupid, as she gets a cloth, and dampens it in a bottle of water, covering her mouth and nose, as her eyes move upwards.[break][break]

Ebony could see it. The Brute Bonnet draining her of her last ounce of energy, sucking the life straight out of her. The memory still burned into her mind. Surrounded, and murdered in such a way... and she was currently separated.[break][break]

The only way to keep her alive, was going to take a lot of guts.[break][break]

The Absol rushes on all fours, racing through the mist, and NIGHT SLASH-ing every Brute Bonnet between her and Genny, exuding PRESSURE to keep them on the backfoot, as she slices through the crowd. Genny would call out. "Ebony, stand b-"[break][break]

Only to feel her life force literally drain away from a MEGA DRAIN from behind, hazel irises shrieking, as Genny stumbles forward, gasping for air, as she feels herself stumble.[break][break]

Ebony had to go faster. So she begins to, attempting to slice some of these Brute Bonnets in clean half if she has to, even slashing one next to Alpha, as a means to assist.[break][break]

More hands. After all, the masked man did say he couldn't disengage like this.

Her hands go to her chest. The order came, and the redhead was more than ready with Frosty. Failure had graced her a number of times this mission, and missions in the past. But today, that wouldn't happen.[break][break]

Rockets were approaching the location. It was time to make a huge difference. Though trepidation makes it hard to cross, Frosty hoists her up and leaps as well as he can to get to the other side, before setting her down.[break][break]

The faster their approach, the more her heartbeat is in her ears. Her hazel eyes focus, and with a hand out, she eyes the Rocket's after she stands firm.[break][break]

"Wood Hammer."[break][break]

Frosty, using both sizable arms, and swinging them down, leaps high into the air, the yeti's eyes pink and seeing red, and crashes towards the Rocket threat. Genny's eyes filled with a red hot determination.

Exhale. He wasn't deciding to atack her. A small smile pulls across her lips, as the man in front of her chooses to do the harder choice. It's easy to hurt someone else, but the right choice... the morally correct one, was to walk away. Team Rocket would recycle that pain... but hearing how this grunt stayed in Rocket. Hearing how he caused pain today, possibly like others, and was bent to their will. Unable to escape...[break][break]

She has nothing to say about being stuck here.[break][break]

"You didn't intrude." Throwing her head back, and feeling the Aqua Ring soothe her muscles, she takes a moment to breathe in some fresh air. Her back still hurts, but the bruise weakens.[break][break]

Hazel eyes turn down towards the Rocket. Kindness exuding from them. "Don't worry about it. Just focus on staying alive, okay?" Wander moves, quietly walking to get right behind her, seating herself back-to-back with Genny, as she makes a tiny snore.[break][break]

"Take care of yourself."[break][break]

She closes her eyes. Feeling like for once this whole war, they made some meaningful difference to someone. To one singular Rocket. It wasn't enough though.[break][break]

She'll have to up her efforts.

Daylight combs over everything, and flying above the clouds, arms outstretched, Genny is able to enjoy the breeze of autumn truly coming in. It's cold up here, but in her Ranger attire, she feels warm enough. Flying atop of Pet Shop, her Pidgeot caws in front of her, as she takes the moment to enjoy the time above.[break][break]

It's supposed to be a mission to detect everything above, in the clouds. To make sure no one was here. The higher altitude did make it harder to breathe, but...[break][break]

Genny can take it.[break][break]

Still. As she's ruffling the feathers of her big bird, Genny searches about for any intruders, any Rockets. Her Ranger badge was at the ready. In case she needed to take someone in.[break][break]

Hopefully. She didn't.

How many bandages must have been on Genevieve by now? There were the ones on her face, the ones on her arm. The hefty bandage on her back. The beach, she lost so much already, and she was back. To keep watch. Recon. She'd lost Hazel here, thanks to a Rocket member. Among others. She felt so bitter, but the mission mattered more.[break][break]

It's a thought in her mind. One spurred on by her chance meeting with Melody Miro. To take the Gym Challenge on, and becoming stronger. Because losing more, risking more... she was done with it.[break][break]

Those without strength lack the ability to make a difference.[break][break]

Standing on the beach again, and walking next to her Teddiursa, little Orville would look up to her. Genny was so focused ahead, and readied. And beside her, the floating Togetic, little Wright. Both were worried for Genny. She should still be in bed.[break][break]

"Don't worry. I have to keep going." What she needed was to slow down. Unfortunately. Genevieve was stubborn. She had to help people. She had to stop Rocket. She had no time to sleep.[break][break]

That would cost her today. Greatly.

It's October. It's the time of year where all the spookies come out, and Halloween is right on the edge! Everyone is excited, pelting candy and dressing up. And Genny likes the holiday. Unfortunately, being bound in Alola most of her life, the communities were small, and the candy pool was questionable. Sure, there were neighborhoods, but never as much as the shows always made it seem. Sacks upon stacks, upon stacked sacks of candy? Best she could do were small handfuls.[break][break]

She wasn't here to do much trick-or-treating herself though, rather give out the candy on the streets where she can. Kids light up at the idea, and while she sneaks a few goodies for herself, Genny is attempting to volunteer. Lilycove is big![break][break]

"You're welcome!" Genny says to another kid passerby, dressed like a mummy. The kid runs away giggling, and Genny takes a look at the monster candy bars she has to give out. Yeah, it cost her some money, but if it brought a smile to all these kids faces, that was a sacrifice on her paycheck. She made enough to live now.[break][break]

Moving up and down the street, she continues to look like the Good Witch, giving candy to those who approach her.

It came suddenly.[break][break]

There Momo Sakai and Genny were, walking the streets of Lilycove. Genny intending to show Momo a cute little Halloween party shop, where she intended to buy a dress. Maybe, Momo could come with, if she so wanted. Two dresses would be cuter. Genny even offered to pay for both.[break][break]

When the voice shreds through that peaceful tranquility. A voice that has Genny immediately on edge. "RED OR BLUE?"[break][break]

A frown comes over her lips, and she eyes the dark, twisted alleyway. A frown pushing through her. Without a moment to lose, comes out a Mudkip, who adjusts herself upon Genny's shoulder.[break][break]

There's a part of Genny that wants to take her little sister, and high-tail it. But after her chance meeting with the HBIC with Gunner Graves during a missing persons case, Genny is feeling more heroic, more capable. She turns towards Momo and smiles. "Hey. I'm going to take care of whatever this is, okay?" Her protective, big sister instincts kick in. And she takes a step into the dark alley.[break][break]

"Blue." The Mudkip, conveniently named Blue, tenses up. She'll play the game for now, and keep Momo safe.[break][break]

Localized in Lilycove. She moves here a week ago, and already someone's putting her through the gauntlet. That's fine. Their short trip on the Corviknight taxi, and the duo are street-bound, traveling. All the while, Agent Graves is giving Genny the lowdown. Missing kids during evening or night, no signs of struggle, and abductions. Her heart sinks.[break][break]

She tries not to linger on what could be the reason. Better that way. Focus on the mission.[break][break]

"If its under everyone's noses, it could be someone unsuspecting. Maybe neighbors?" she speculates, though little good speculation is right now. "The best way to catch them would be in the act. Maybe we can follow them too, and find the other kids." She questions, hoping that wasn't the intent. But with twilight receding, and day turning fully to night, it was the best case.[break][break]

Guardian attempts to comfort her, reaching the shiny red cloak out her back to pat her. It slightly works. Determination burns within her.

- After the taxi ride, Genny deposits the potential of it being someone unsuspecting. Potentially. Doesn't want to stakeout and wait for it to happen, but it'll get them all the missing kids.[break]

noah faber, Navy, and Hideo Kino huh? Genny ponders. They were the Gym Leaders up in Dewford, Verdanturf, and Littleroot, right? She could probably handle that. If she wasn't mistaken, Josh Devlin, and even her bestie lam logan were both also Gym Leaders. So she had five she knew off the top of her head.[break][break]

That's a good place to start, she thinks![break][break]

It's also in Melody's excitement to see her through this, to help her when she gets stuck... it's in that excitement that Genny's cheeks burn with red hot heat. Her offer to help Genny only made her ecstatic to try.[break][break]

It's one thing, meeting one of her heroes since coming here to Hoenn. It's quite another to be endorsed like this, to be told that she'd be helped by her. She was right. She knew Melody was the right choice to look up to for as long as she did. [break][break]

Her eyes light up with stars, and she moves to pick up Lucky, the little pooch happy to get more attention, rolling as best he can inside of Genny's arms without his hind legs.[break][break]

"Then I won't let you down. I'll aim for the top! Head Ranger and Champion!" She's so far over the moon, she's on her way to Mars.[break][break]

The journey starts with the first step. She lets Lucky back down on his wheels, where he starts running in circles, happily barking, carrying Genny's excitement. "I'll start with the ones you recommended, and keep you updated!" She holds her phone out towards Melody. It was a long shot but... maybe she could exchange numbers and keep in contact? If she got that, she could die happy.

No more booby traps... when Lammy starts breaking into laughter, so does she, and she lets it out with tired, exasperated chuckles. When he mentions how it's almost like Indiana Jones, she places a hand to her mouth, trying to hold it in. It hurt to laugh. It probably hurt Artie more than anything, but he got to live.[break][break]

Mr. Business would probably be happy to know that. And when she turns to Lammy, a tear trickles down an eye. That epiphany...[break][break]

She's smiling all the same, but knowing that maybe, just maybe, the cave stayed up a moment longer than it should gives her a level of peace. Sometimes, people didn't get out of things like that. Sometimes... they weren't so lucky. And sometimes, they did. Unquestionably so. Tranquility washes over her, as the tear trickles down. The adrenaline leaving her body, leaving her an exhausted Genny, barely able to walk.[break][break]

Huh! He seems low energy. That's perfectly fine! To his mention of how gung-ho she was, she makes a tiny giggle. "I don't try to let nervousness or fear slow me down. I still feel them, but I don't let them control me." There's a part of her that, as she finishes, wants to say anymore after that. A part forgotten since that one mission, but she can't piece together what, or why.[break][break]

As they make their way outside, readying the package for delivery, with her Impidimp, Donnie, out and about eating some dirt, the little goblin would giddily prepare to attack anything on sight. Until then, the gremlin eats.[break][break]

Lazily moving hazel eyes over Derek's way, she grins. "You seem so chill." Genny responds. They felt like polar opposites when it came to energy. But first impressions are always so deceiving. "The two of us will be done with this in no time!" she hypes, happily believing every word that comes from her lips. She moves one arm up to flex, her other hand resting on her bicep. She was by no means muscular, but the four foot eleven Senior Ranger was confident!
