It was too late. PETRA MONROE touched the purple chunk. At first, she wondered if anything was going to happen. And then, a disturbing scene flashed in front of her eyes. It was like she was there, smelling, hearing, feeling the destruction between DEOXYS and ETERNATUS. The skeletal dragon falls-

"Watch out!"

As if crafted perfectly — it was a simulation, after all — ETERNATUS collided into the ground mere meters in front of them. And there it was: the purple core. Jasmine went to touch it herself, but she was stopped as it pulsed. And pulsed. And pulsed. She slapped her hands over her ears, screaming-

Silence.

There was a white tree. "That's the tree of life." But where was its leaves, its fruits? And why were the Pokemon stone?

"We have to water it." She pat down her body, throwing out a Pokeball. Her SEEL appeared, using its ability to hydrate the tree.

Though, the tea was steaming hot, and she leaned in closer, gripping the table with white knuckles as he spoke. She waited, with bated breath, until it was spilled.

"No kidding!" she hissed, placing her elbows on the counter and propping her face up. If she had pointed ears like a dog, they'd be perked. "He did seem a little weird when I used to come by, you know. Like, making eyes and trying to see if we'd wait on him after his shift."

Jazz rolled her eyes. "What a piece of shit. Kinda gross," she said, leaning back in after thought of what could have happened on that counter top.

[attr="class","jazz"]Jasmine opened her eyes, seeing sand and feeling heat around her. "A desert? Is this the desert outside Mauville?" she asked to no one in particular, dusting specks of dust off of her with a wrinkled nose.

She looked at PETRA MONROE, a woman she hardly knew, and began to trek down the dune toward a tomb that seemed to be in the middle of excavating.

The people there seemed almost crazed in Jazz's eyes. A "great protector?" "What the hell do you mean-?"

However, her question was interrupted as she was shuffled to see a purple chunk in the middle of the tomb. It pulsed, like it was a beating heart. However, despite the pulsating, the boulders holding it up remained unmoving.

"What the fuck is that?"

"I thought I would come by and see if the same old was here. I shouldn't be surprised Zev Harcourt hired new people, though. What's the scoop on the other guy that was working the bar before... did he get fired?" she asked nosily, her feet kicking below the bar.

There really wasn't enough apologies she could give him for all the times she'd brought someone home just to make him jealous. She thought he'd done the same to her. It was all petty, empty arguments.

Though his hand rested on her cheek, bringing her gaze back to him. Jasmine blinked, snorting a laugh at him. "You're so silly."

When she reached for a sandwich, though she wasn't hungry, Jasmine was stopped by a hand reaching for her own.

She turned her gaze to Magnus, blinking as she comprehended his words. "You don't have to convince me, Magnus," she insisted, pushing the sandwiches away so they would avoid being squished.

Jasmine took a spot beside him, laying on her side, as she reached to brush hair from his face. "I don't know if I can say the same. It was more of a flame that built day by day, with each encounter. I had to learn what this feeling was."

She offered a kind, gentle smile. "You know I never get jealous for anyone. But you were different."

She slowly slinked up in the bed, hugging the blankets around her as she reached for the warm drink. Blowing on it, she took a sip, wincing a bit as the heat burned her tongue.

Though, it did warm her body.

"Do you ever get frustrated with him? Like, when he does his 'I'm fucking other chicks, see ya' bullshit?" Jasmine asked softly, looking straight ahead instead at her friend.

Because she didn't want to betray all the thoughts in her mind.

[attr="class","jazz"]Jasmine only gave a silent nod, allowing him to lead them out of the forest. Her hand reached over to pet Cappuccino, hoping comfort the MASCHIEF at least a little bit as they made their way through the trees.

Once they entered a clearing, filled with bright green grass and plants she hadn't seen before. Perhaps it was one of the craters in the perfectly named "ultra crater."

"Let's rest here," she suggested, pulling away from Magnus so that she could settle her bag on the ground and pull a few things out.

A neatly folded blanket. A couple of sandwiches. Some first aid, to take care of Cappuccino.

Once the blanket was spread on the ground, she settled on it. "Cappu. We're going to take care of your leg, okay?"

[attr="class","jazz"]It seemed that Wisteria's FLAMETHROWER was useful in the direction she went in. Any random hoards of the contaminated Megaloplans charged in that direction with snarls and growls.

"They're literally, like... zombies from the movies. Kinda creepy," she muttered to Wisteria. The dragon merely grunted before flapping her wings and flying back in the other direction.

She kept an eye out for the hideout, locating it with Lam and the "normal" Megaloplan waiting for her. Still no sign of Sven, but perhaps he found a way out before them.

Kind of a dick move, though.

Landing, Jasmine gave a thumbs up. "All good. Ready to ditch this place?"
