[attr="class","freiwantttop"]ABOUT THE CHARACTER [attr="class","freiwanttbot"]    [break] talonflame / prinplup / cherubi [break] - talonflame is mika's oldest friend and first pokemon. he had been an injured fletchling that mika discovered outside of her family's home in fortree, the morning after a vicious lightning storm. she took him inside and nursed him back to health — he hasn't left her side since then.
- prinplup is one of mika's most responsible pokemon, and only the second pokemon she's ever had since talonflame. they met during mika's trainee days as a ranger, shortly after she graduated high school. prinplup had been a piplup then, and mika felt a connection, one that has only gotten stronger as the days go on.
- cherubi is a very sweet, but very active pokemon who often gets into trouble. despite being one of mika's most recent additions to the team, mika treats the cherubi similarly to how she'd treat a child, and with all the work that goes into taking care of cherubi, parenthood isn't that far off a description.

- tall (5'10" / 178 cm), lean, and athletic. choice of exercise is running or swimming, so has pronounced musculature in her back and legs (especially calves).
- scarlet eyes verging on amber, like a dull sun, or a pale flame. almond-shaped and surprisingly long-lashed.
- navy blue hair that is naturally long but often tied up (with a distinctly cute hair tie that doesn't match the rest of her ensemble) in a ponytail or braid, save for the errant strands that frame her face — a bit choppy.
- dresses sporty and casual when not in standard ranger attire. prefers athleisure or any style of clothing that is easy to move around in, and tends to stay away from stiff or restrictive clothing, in turn. though not super stylish, will sometimes rock a statement hoodie, poncho, or jacket over her normal clothes.
- as of october 2023, mika also has a tattoo on her back: talonflame wings, brightly colored and beautifully shaded, spanning the space from the top of her back all the way down to the latissimus dorsi muscle (or lower-mid section). she considers this tattoo as a symbol of herself and how far she's gotten in her life, as well as a beloved tribute to her first pokemon partner, talonflame. it's a symbol of freedom, as well — a freedom that burns.

[break] they met in the summer. [break][break] mika had come from a small family, but an intimate one. on her father's side, a genealogy rich with pokemon rangers and conservationists. on her mother's side, an old johto tradition of minding the myths of the world and maintaining spiritual balance with one's self. the result: a quiet girl, an observant girl, a girl who believes herself to be nothing when compared to the bright lights of the world around her. [break][break] she spends her life idly, never wanting for anything but also never learning that it's okay to want something in the first place. her life may be her own, but there is no ambition, no warmth, no light to prove that it is. even her position as a ranger feels like a scam, like some lukewarm attempt to love something enough that it becomes devotion.[break][break] she learns the word devotion through another, through laughter and sweet kisses that taste like a promise: to love and to share, to have and to hold, to accompany, to witness.[break][break] she has devotion like a precious gem in her hands, whose brilliant light casts a darker shadow filled with doubts: you will never be enough. [break][break] and though they met in the summer, these days, an icy front gathers at the edge of their warmest memories, freezing them whole. - truly ambidextrous, with very neat (but slanted) handwriting.
- her favorite foods are takoyaki (sorry octillery, clobbopus, etc.) and trail mix. her favorite colors are blue, orange, and red.
- mika has nicknames for her pokemon, but only addresses them as such in private and/or around people she trusts. this is a personal choice, and another way mika distances herself (and her pokemon, who she feels are extensions of herself) from other people, in a way that is comfortable to her.
- an only child. her family consists of her parents and their extended family, but she only stays in contact with her parents these days.
- her first love was everything.
- "mimi" was a nickname given to her by someone precious, and thus reserved for that person and that person alone. otherwise, just call her mika.
