he half expects the pokeball to miss, and has to admit he's impressed when it doesn't. a scizor launches at them from behind, only to be met with a mighty FLAMETHROWER. doused in flames, the pokemon drops to the ground. marcel moves a couple steps away from it.

the weavile lets out a sharp cry as he falls to the ice once more. it was a pain he was beginning to get used to. sitting up, he tries to tear off his ice skates to not much avail. they were tightly fitted, and undoing all the buckles and straps took daintier hands than his own clawed ones.

for what wasn't the first time that day, he cursed his trainer for sending him on this job.

in an attempt to regain his footing, the weavile begins pushing himself up, only to have his feet slide out from underneath him. again. with an infuriated roar, he lashes out at the ice with METAL CLAW.[break][break][break]

"kanto," he sighs, pushing away the memories, "it's not like we spoke much outside of work." marcel realises they're now talking about dominic right in front of him, and wonders if he's going to give any input. judging from his current mood, it seemed his silence would be the best case scenario.

a pokemon half-sunken into the mud catches his eye. for a moment he contemplates having his meowstic attack but, remembering their makeshift umbrella, gives a few taps to the back of his phone to wake his rotom up. the pokemon slips out of his pocket, and at his command sends a THUNDER WAVE to paralyse the throh. marcel throws a pokeball shortly after, and is thankful for good aim. he didn't fancy having to go pick it up when the ground was this muddy.

finally successful in his search, marcel releases his meowstic onto his shoulder. the pokemon's subject to the rain for a few seconds before a BARRIER stretches out over him and priam, tilted slightly so the water ran off onto the ground behind them. he would have extended an invitation to dominic, had he bothered to slow down for a second.

when priam brings them back to what he thought was a topic passed, he has to hold back a wince. "no, i--" he stops. "you're--" too young, but priam would probably argue with that. marcel distractedly breaks up his cake as he thinks.
[break][break]"sometimes...it's hard for people to make changes." he puts down his fork before his cake's demolished entirely. "i don't know, i guess i kind of missed it in the end." the explanation didn't sit quite right, but it's the best he's got at the moment.
