"sorry, we thought it was wild." he seems too drunk to listen, but he hopes that also means he won't remember this. as emma storms in, he allows himself to heave a sigh. they'd both feel a lot better once they got some food in them.

at his command, his meowstic lets out a piercing cry. the DISARMING VOICE is grating enough to disturb the snorlax from it's slumber, and worsen what would have already been a poor mood. this was his cue for his next move. "psychic."

while it had done nothing to lift the pokemon up, it was easy to use its own weight against it. his kadabra pins down the snorlax's legs with a PSYCHIC energy, leaving an opening for emma's to attack. "he's all yours."

deciding it better to focus on the matter at hand, he looks at the sleeping pokemon a few more moments, trying to figure out a plan of action. "free-range," he muses, some genuine amusement finally coming back to him, "come on, they all deserve a bit of fresh air."

marcel glances at his kabadra, gesturing to the snorlax. "think you can move it?" the pokemon gives it a few tries, which ultimately come up fruitless. it had moved a bit--and by a bit, he meant hardly.

jokes aside, he's aware the snorlax wasn't emma's doing. the pokemon's origin seemed to be a complete mystery, judging from the bewilderment of any passersby. marcel watches the door rattle behind at as those inside tried to make their escape. futile efforts, but he could appreciate the fact that they were at least trying.

"i don't know about you--" he pulls a couple pokeballs from his pocket, "--but i'm hungry."

while the drama was certainly there, marcel couldn't understand the appeal of blood sports such as these entirely. it had none of the finesse of a trainer battle, which he could at least respect. then again, he supposed everyone needed to let their hair down every once in a while.

[attr="class","mthread"]as the protect flickers away, a gust of wind breaks through. flecks of debris hit marcel's cheek as he swiftly returns his sylveon. "good job." he doesn't trust himself to be able to stand, but a floating metagross doesn't make for a subtle getaway. another AGILITY gets him out of sight while the ruckus is still going on.

once he's back on the ground, marcel takes a moment to lean against his metagross. he lets out a shaky exhale. taking out his phone, he sends out a few texts. Emma Wolfe, Cillian Quinn, priam conrad, and--he'll probably regret this later but--marie jules all receive the same ok?. he doesn't have the energy to write much more.

raising a hand to run through his hair, he instead finds his fingers running along his scar. this was no mossdeep, but it was still a reminder long overdue. for the first time in a while, he wonders what price he'd pay for returning to hoenn.

he moves to stand by katherine so he can be heard over the clanging. "what?" he jokes, "a guy can't just come and smash up a car cause he feels like it?" dodging questions is a habit he's never learned to break--because he never tried, and because it was entirely his doing in the first place--but he supposes katherine can't be surprised, given his line of work. it was always safer keeping your cards to your chest; information could always be fed bit by bit if need be.

a glance at the car shows that their pokemon are making quick work of it. his metagross looks bored, if anything, one of the more sensible members of his team. marcel keeps his amusement to himself as he continues to watch.
