Finding himself a nice sized boulder to sit upon, Adrian keeps an eye peeled for anything more intriguing than a few base form pokemon. During the down time, he'll flip through his phone more intently, checking up on some of his favorite channels.

Every now and then, he'll glance Senon's direction to see what he's gotten up to. He certainly didn't squander the opportunity to capture any pokemon that showed itself.

Adrian nods solemnly; the soiree was the perfect reason for why they desperately needed to get their hands on these strange pokemon—to understand them. "We'll just have to keep a level head next time something like that happens." Wishful thinking, that.

While they're setting their minds to the task, he ponders over the tales of the two towers in Johto, and the associated lore of the region. Although Unown didn't originate from there, some of the preeminent researchers on the subject first cracked open the Ruins of Alph.

Why didn't Rocket just send some folks over from Kanto to round some up? A question for the Admins, perhaps. "Say, why haven't we just sent for some from Johto...?"

Then again, pokemon smuggling wasn't so simple to begin with, and these things tended to slip through pocket dimensions on a whim. Maybe they had tried.

"Nah. Got to keep my bearings here." Didn't want to have a blunder over a cliff, or lower his guard around Martin. It's a nice gesture though. Pacing around, he ignores the Hypno in the distance. It calls to memory the night a swarm of them tried to lure away sleeping citizens in Slateport. Weirdly enough, those were better times. Simpler.

"Wish it were easier to find what we're looking for." If they could go to Johto, to the Ruins of Alph, maybe they could acquire more subjects. Or if they had any incense...

They would just have to do it the old fashioned way.

thread summary:

brother and sister attempt to patch things up after a brush with death reminds them of the things that really matter most. at the height of that dreaded tholus, hearts are laid bare; secrets are divulged; plans enacted, events set in motion... dreams are revived.

why is it important?:

it is a preamble that sets the stage for adrian & serena's intentions in geomancy as well as a potential pivoting point for the relationship between avatar and legend. adrian has now recovered autonomy over his powers, breaking the 'curse' placed upon him by yveltal, and understanding the actual intent behind this underhanded ploy.

Before Adrian can retreat from the mountain, the pit of Yveltal's influence reaches out to him through this presence, and something shifts into place. The "curse" that was placed upon him, one anointed by the dark patron Yveltal as executioner, fades away with the umbra sinking into Mt. Pyre. But something else transpires...[break]

...Something shifts in the unseen... Observers lapse the veil where they meddle, dark agents riding the coattails of these collisions... You have become hopelessly intertwined in these fated dreams yet to pass...[break][break]

Yveltal apprises Adrian of the recent developments—those that he has and hasn't seen firsthand, and of the nature and reason for his curse and the considerations under which they were placed. Yveltal divulges all after seeing in Adrian something... redeemable. And in losing this instability in his aura, perhaps Adrian taps into a potential yet to be fully realized...?

Rocket's assembly (aberrant and otherwise) take to the marsh en masse, another reckless resolve. The land itself betrays them at every turn, and now they would wade through the muddled depths of an unknown marshland? Not him.[break][break]

Returning Smeargle (reluctantly) to its pokeball, he laments the missed opportunity as Lulu's Darkrai and company head down the alternate path. 'Meet you on the other side' was a wordless expectation, though he wondered if they would number the same after a period of separation. Knowing his luck soured at the most inopportune of times, Adrian provides himself with some assurances:[break][break]

A Glastrier as his chosen mount, he will risk the RED path, whatever that entails.[break][break]

Adrian follows up along Rowan at a leisurely trot, allowing the Glastrier to feel out the environment. No doubt the lukewarm, tepid waters are just as uncomfortable as they are unsightly. He is glad for Glastrier's companionship.[break][break]

"Row... how do you feel?" Rowan would be staring back into placid eyes, his irises like strange orbs adrift a deadened sky, speaking in dulcet tones in contradiction to his grim visage. While he investigated their aura, he found his arm itched, likely from when he'd drained the boulder saturated with infinity energy.[break][break]

On the surface, Rowan was changed, though he felt that needn't always be.[break][break]

"You're all filled to the brim with... infinity energy. Lulu mentioned it once." If Lulu and Walsh knew, or even suspected, they would likely be having a field day regardless of the human suffering involved. He thought it best to taper off his explanation, to avoid being overheard by any except those closest to him (, , & ).[break][break]

"I can tap into it, redirect it... But maybe..." For once he was suggesting to see how things played out. He didn't want to imagine a future where Rowan stayed this way forever, squatting on a clutch of eggs and eating fish raw (in a way, he already did all of that), but the shrines served a purpose yet determined. As of now they only understood its function. "...Maybe we should see where this leads."[break][break]
