There it was, the pokemon he'd been seeking. His fascination with burning rubber and revving engines, encapsulated in VAROOM. He'd already acquired one Starmobile, but he hoped to one day have them all...[break][break]

"Raj, get after it!"[break][break]

Copperajah rushes forward in a HEAT CRASH, but misses the nimble Varoom. It zips around the cave, spewing sludge and POISON GAS. Thankfully, Copperajah is immune.[break][break]

"ROCK SLIDE!" But after getting over its SLOW START, Varoom is still outpacing them. The only added advantage they have now is the rough terrain, hardly suited to Varoom's wheels. It struggles to gain enough speed for its HEADBUTT to faze Copperajah.[break][break]

"The next time it makes a pass, swing away!" A BRUTAL SWING connects as the Varoom charges past, unable to turn on a dime against the rough rocky passage, taking a tumble after being bashed away by a pokemon that vastly outclassed it.[break][break]

Adrian prepared a pokeball, dreaming of petrol...

Legs slowly kicking, pushing him through the water, there's little to sift through. The ocean is almost cleaned up for the year... A reminder that the season is fading. It would be winter back in Sinnoh soon. How he missed the change in climate...[break][break]

As they head towards the tree, they are too late—it is lost to them. It sinks beneath the waves, which rise higher still, such that Sootopolis is drowned beneath them. Only the faint jutting of its cratered peaks are left to see, and the towering Dyna Tree. But they still have their orders...[break][break]

"That way, Furor." They see Kyogre taking to the skies, the pantheon of pokemon surrounding and assaulting it—both the League and Team Rocket are embroiled in the conflict. He wonders about placing himself in harm's way.[break][break]

...And thought better of it. Adrian gestures to the Dyna Tree, though Gyarados is reluctant to leave his side. Even so, it allows him to disembark along the highest branches, casting a menacing glare towards the nearby trainers and pokemon—INTIMIDATING them with a threatening snarl, dissuading any further acts of aggression.[break][break]

"Now get in there," he orders sharply.[break][break]

Adrian, however small his contributions, makes them all the same: Pumping his arms, Adrian feels the sync stone on his necklace activate, causing a cerulean aura to build up around the area—it seems to reach Gyarados even as it surfs further away, into the heart of the maelstrom.[break][break]

"Let's see how Kyogre likes this."[break][break]

By the grace of his sygna suit, Adrian augments WATER-TYPE moves in the vicinity.[break][break]

Howwy? He wonders who he means by that—probably howard slayte—but it strikes a chord with him. A confused wrinkle in his brow eventually smoothes over, and he's able to pick up where the conversation left off.[break][break]

If only he'd managed to keep that kind of distance. It may have suited him. But rather than ruminating over it, he's quick to engross himself in the current discussion—despite their tone.[break][break]

Adrian hadn't picked it for the name. And he had certainly opted out of the flashy neon abomination that was the base model.[break][break]

Instead, he'd gone for a slick black frame built for muscle—not unlike a '69 Charger—but with several pending modifications. Specifically, the Varoom and Revavroom peaking out from under the frame, integrated into the chassis. As he ran a hand over the paint, the engine revved itself. [break][break]

He was still waiting for more parts to beef up the exterior, specifically some hub caps and a bumper with some teeth to it, if the thing was going to be used for any true battling.[break][break]
