Some pokemon came from beyond the stars, his mother had once told him, knowing it would fuel the child's passion for pokemon and space exploration alike. What child wouldn't be filled with wonder at the prospect? Ever since he could remember, Aedan chased after those bulbous plasma giants, gazing up at them longingly from the fields of his home. Now he stood around the punch table, not far from his parents, hoping to catch a glimpse of something... more.[break][break]

But his thoughts went out to the gang of kids he'd only known for a fleeting moment, to Andoles Blackadder, that insufferable, miserable—friend. He liked to think they were friends, though they never hung out. He had his parents to blame for that.[break][break]

Life had been incredibly dull without that pestering mop of hair to belittle him...

Maybe it was just startled by the sensation, and fought back on impulse. It genuinely seemed to take an interest in them after all, although Aedan wasn't sure he could sneak one into his backyard without his parents losing their marbles.[break][break]

While he waited for Cat to try her luck a second go around, Aedan grabbed a rock and chucked it into the nearby waterbed, watching a Tympole rise out of the water suddenly. "Oh! I'm sorry... I didn't bonk ya on the head, did I?" By its not-nearly-so-aggressive response, he figured he'd just gave it a scare. He dropped the next rock in his palm, raising his hands in forfeiture.[break][break]

"Won't happen again, promise," he gave his scout's honor and stepped back.

As they treaded further into the falls, perhaps the purity of their intentions was noted, as they were approached by a Dragonair. Aedan's jaw went slack like it might fall off. "Wh-wa-whaaaaa?!"[break][break]

    He might've wanted to capture it, but a Buizel quickly curled up around his legs, tickling him senseless. "Pfft-hahaha! Stop it, you!" When he tried to grab at it, the creature scampered just out of reach, before diving back in to play with him. All of this preoccupied him from paying anymore attention to the Dragonair.

Either that, or some were just awfully terrible at breaking out. Aedan had never been captured, so he couldn't speak from experience, but he doubted it was easy.[break][break]

      "Let's keep looking around," Aedan would insist, feeling safer in numbers. Without waiting for a response he allowed a swift, steady gait to carry him deeper into the falls. When Cat finally caught up with him, she'd find him observing a Dewott breaking open Shellder on a Druddigon's rough skin before sharing the meat between them. "Wow... I wonder how rare that is," he thought out loud.

Yet her eccentrics made her appear genuine, even as she invaded his personal space and ushered him forward together. As they traipsed ahead, fumbling through the moonlit falls, they would eventually spot a whooper caught in a whirlpool, although it seemed oblivious to the threat. Happily at play, like on a merry-go-round at the park.[break][break]

        "Look, there's a Wooper." They were dopey, lovable pokemon, and that made them a perfect fit for Aedan. It wasn't immediately clear until after he'd hurled a pokeball at it that the whirlpool was induced by another pokemon. A Kingdra broke through the surface, examining the overworld for signs of the interlopers.[break][break]

        It squinted at Aedan before aiming its HYDRO PUMP at him. Oh no!

            [break]Pokemon were everywhere, one but needed to take a step into the great outdoors and expose themselves to the elements, and they could be found.[break][break]

            A shame his parents had thought to deny him this simple pleasure.[break][break]

            Aedan, bound to Rustboro by his parents' will, rarely got to see any further in the world than Meteor Falls. And ever since the Megalopolan incident nearly half a year ago, he'd been instructed by his parents not to explore even the ruins of his childhood, forced into spending much of his time locked away in his room. Until one night when he decided to break out, driven by his rebellious tendencies.[break][break]

            Much of the wonder and luster of the falls had since been lost. As he stalked through the exposed entrance of the antechamber, he recognized that many areas had been torn open by the Megalopolans and their struggle against the League. In doing so, they had spoiled one of his favored locales. He felt loss.[break][break]

            But there was still much and more left to leave a child full of wonder, the cerulean pools of the cave glinting with starlight, punctuated by the chorus of nincadas. Yet for all of it, the place seemed desolate, with hardly a critter to be seen.[break][break]

            Then Aedan would just have to look harder. Nothing else to it.

              aedan wouldn't have even found this place if it wasn't for swain, his corvisquire, chancing upon one of andy's fliers and leading aedan by the nose. it was a miracle his parents agreed to let him tag along, though he would've just played hooky if it came down to it. school shmool!

              flash forward to the west gate at mauville. aedan stumbles across a tawny haired kid and blackadder, the latter reclined against a bench while the former stood on their own two feet. wow, andy's here? it was relieving to know everyone around him wouldn't be a stranger. but it did mean they would be putting up with his incessant quips like as not. that'd take some warming up to.

              "hey, andy! didja get the flier too!?" aedan offers greetings to the more familiar face before turning to the stranger. "hi. i'm aedan." aedan wears a bashful grin and a faint flush, evidently eager to seem cordial. "so... are we it?" amber orbs flick betwixt them.

              "Jerk," Aedan spits back at Andy, swiping furiously at the strands of hair before buffing them on the shoulder playfully. I even gave him a warning. At some point he'd realized Andy was deliberately... whatever he was. Crude would probably fit the bill.

              Was he trying to escalate the situation somehow?

              Aedan wouldn't think much of it, deciding on the spot to take a seat crisscross applesauce, using piloswine as a sort of pillow. He didn't really seem to mind, but he did snort and oink a bit.

              Aedan always assumed those were happy noises.

              "Eeeeew, a bug? Hrmm...." Aedan didn't like to react to pokemon in such a way, knowing how dejected it made them feel, and yet... creepy crawlers were an exception. Luckily Ravana knew they were loved, and so in spite of Aedan's lack of enthusiasm, they both seemed happy enough to make the other's acquaintance. "Hi, Rav."

              It was mildly shocking to find out he flew her around, given her stature, but then Aedan supposed they were both rather lightweight in frame compared to the Yanmega. Still, it left him perturbed, only for the fact that he'd considered what holding on against such a chitinous surface must've felt like, what with the creature bzzzt'ing beneath one's grasp as they straddled it. Unsettling was putting it lightly.

              I can't introduce Rav to Swain, they might not... get along... While some birds weren't predisposed towards violent, his Corvisquire was a shrewd, clever creature that proved to be quite the opportunist. So instead he released Wilbur, his Piloswine, to keep her company. "This is Wilbur."

              Wilbur boasted a warm, friendly demeanor and asked for nothing more than the opportunity to slump against the ground for some peace and quiet. In that, he was the perfect companion for cozying up. Perhaps a bit shy to a fault, the gentle giant was at least kind to those as were kind to it, and almost never acted out of aggression without provocation. Aedan gave him a pat.

              Pulling away his hand and finding himself clung to by Wilbur's shedding coat, he sighed, swiping his hand violently against his pants. "He sheds a lot, though." Aedan gave Wilbur a bit of a stern look: Don't track it inside.
