Kaida watched quietly as Orion Lykos went to the rescue of Olivia Abbiati, but found herself unfortunately not surprised when the woman came up unbreathing. Muspel groaned worryingly, but moved no closer, aware that Kaida's team held no real medical value, and that Kaida was currently too weak to assist in any meaningful way. There was only one thing, "Kjoll. Help call for help." She mumbled as the Onix arrived from his trek down the mountain, Toxicitry and people in tow. [break][break]

She leaned against the warmth of the Charizard as the Onix reared up, and bellowed like a monster. There. That was all they could do, other than warm the populace. "It's ok, Orion, we'll be ok." She tried to assure the man. Whether she lived or not, he had to know they were responsible for all these lives, correct? Even if one was lost, they won plenty.

Kaida and Muspel didn't dare move as Kyogre started to retreat, leaving Silk to watch their backs as they watched the water god retreat into the ocean, seemingly sated by the damage they had poured on it...had they exhausted the energy it had been enraged by? Either way, they were left alone here...Kaida's eyes flickered down to where Olivia Abbiati had fallen. [break][break]

Mayve the ocean swallowed her up.. Her mind provided unhelpfully, leaving a deep question in her mind, should she help? Her mind was less helpful on that basis. She was far more concerned with the civilians and allies behind her. They had wanted to live, unlike this woman, and deserved it more...maybe the thought was obvious to anybody else, but a weight came off Kaida. Maybe she didn't have to love every human. Much how she didn't have to hate every human. A quaint thought. Leave her love for those deserving, like her family and the friends who had flown so bravely with her...or the one she thought had died. She needed to try and find ALEXANDER STONE later...at least she could tell illeana reyes the news if he was killed. [break][break]

But first she had to help Orion Lykos and the civilians. So she left, she knew Olivia was under the waves, and tapped Muspel on her shoulders, guiding them away. She needed to save her strength for those who needed it. [break][break]

Kjoll and Bragi were descending the mountain, helping refugees along the way. They would be fine, first, "Orion! Orion!" She called, guiding Muspel to try and land near the man, "Everyone...is everyone alive?" She tried to jump off Muspel, and promptly slipped, only avoiding falling as Muspel scooped her up, the draconian holding its exhausted human close. The heat of the Charizard, the freezing rain, wounds she picked up, it was all too much. Still, she maintained some dignity, ignoring the masses of people gathering around the warm Charizard as she tried to talk calmly (and failing, she was shaking too much), "Have we won?"

This wasn't happening. Kaida really hoped this wasn't happening, not after she knew how smart and kind her allies were. [break][break]

Muspel caught Silk, even in the moment of chaos, cheery grumble rising in her throat as she cuddled the sand snake...and then the water erupted. Retreating briefly, Kaida and her team watched the walls rise up, and her face twisted as she bristled. "What!?" Cease what, saving their lives!? In this moment, she cared about the lives behind her, even if motivated by her own desire to never lose those familiar to her, but even as her care expanded beyond Pokemon, one thing of Kaida didn't change. She held no reverence to anything humans held dear. Worship. Authority. That meant nothing to her, and she was certain it meant nothing to a god. [break][break]

"Get out of the way!" She roared, her (hopefully) righteous fury leaking to her Pokemon, who snarled in their own language at what they thought was an idiot. If another blast came through, the ones on the mountain might not be able to get out of the way. She didn't think the deaths of innocents would please the god. She had to get the wall out of the way, if only to let attacks through. [break][break]

Like they read her mind, Muspel clawed at the wall and bees with Thunder Punch as Silk spat Rock Slide, attempting to pull the wall aside or swat the bees. "We have to defeat it!" She almost pled, what kind of faith could make one side with a pointless killer such as this? Even with the tree...she had died for a reason, because she messed up. The people behind her? They were good. They were hers, and she could never let them be hurt. If faith would keep her walled away, then her own faith in her death being for a reason would clash. One woman wasn't going to stop her. [break][break]

On the mountain, Bragi hugged Kjoll, near exhausted as she aimed one last time and fired another Overdrive. Kaida looked like she was in trouble, and ever helpful Bragi shot at the wall, hoping to zap the source and break it down for Kaida. Kjoll rumbled comfortably, conjuring up a Protect for all near him. It was going to be ok, little one.

Kaida gaped as she spotted Pokemon, clearly trained, beating down both the aluen threat and their controlled Pokemon, but, rather than be glad, she fumed with disbelieving irritation. What was she doing!? Trying to get the attention of the enemy!? [break][break]

There was still the possibility of a hostage escaping their plan of feeding though, and Kaida assumed it was still better to get the both of them out of here regardless. [break][break]

Before Sanvi could be attacked by the third, Kaida hissed under her breath and pointed, near silent but close enough for her Toxicroak, Glima, to slam down in a vicious Bounce to crush it in an instant, snickering good-naturedly at the woman before springing back into the branches. Someone had to make sure more forces weren't arriving.! In the vegetation, Kaida and Ormr approached. [break][break]

Kaida took the role of confronting the woman, emerging a few seconds after Glima disappeared, "What are you doing!?" Her voice was low, only audible to Sanvi, as she stalked forward, "Who are you? Why are you here!?" As far as she knew, this was a solo mission she was doing, and absolutely not one where you attacked unless given no choice!

She was torn away from whoever was near her (sven korolev ), and tumbled into a new reality, somehow both more convinced this was a nightmare and less convinced. A monster she didn't know to identify as Guzzlord screamed and ate, and she found a sort of resemblance to the aliens...but she wanted to leave now, she didn't want to die against this monster, in a nightmare. The floor under her feet was occasionally solid, she was in danger. [break][break]

As she tried to run, there was screaming, not of the monster, but of trapped and hurt civilians. Maybe the obligation of a Ranger made her stop, but she ultimately ran towards the screams because she knew they needed her help...she thought her partners would never forgive her if they knew she abandoned people, even in a dream, and her chest filled with a frightning darkness when she even thought of leaving them. Like the war, she'd protect them, it was her job, and she couldn't fail like she did with the tree. [break][break]

Two lights unleashed two Pokemon, Jotun and Loki. Jotun leapt towards Kaida, the blue gator hugging her tightly in terror as Loki almost curled up on the floor, "Jotun, Jotun! Over there, use Superpower!" She directly ordered and, even though the cloud of fear didn't leave his eyes, nor did he release Kaida, Jotun waddled towards the trapped civilians. Superpower, even one-armed, hauled rubble up as Jotun reached for the trapped humans, aiming to pick them up and run them to safety. Kaida wasn't certain whether they could be seen or felt, but they'd try to save as much as they physically could. [break][break]

Loki was left on his own, to watch the Guzzlord. His anxiety rose to a fever pitch, and he spat a blinding Smokescreen for what he thought was its eyes, hoping it wouldn't see them anymore.

Muspel was closer now, close enough to see the beast in all its terrible glory, but also close enough to look upon its weaknesses. This wasn't like Orion's strange creature, she decided. This god knew not a single person here, and had no reason to stop for their words. They had to beat it. This close, Kaida hoped this wouldn't be seen as another tree. She could hear it already. Wasn't there more you could have done? [break][break]

At this moment, no, there was nothing else to do. [break][break]

Muspel's claws exploded with electricity in a Thunder Punch, claws reaching to slam into her enemy before immediately breaking away, for Silk was ready to fire. The Mega Sandaconda whirled closer, red fog giving even his calm demeanor something furious within. If Kaida wanted to protect her partners on the island, then he wasn't even scared of a sea god. Something arched towards Kyogre, another Overdrive sloppily aimed, but close enough. Right. They also had to protect their little one. [break][break]

Another G-Max Sandblast roared towards his enemy, the swirling sands hoping to irritating and rip at the vulnerable organ on the right fin. The Mega Evolution wouldn't last much longer, so the Sandaconda and Charizard flew at each other, Muspel grasping at the serpent to hold him even when his transformation wore off and gravity took hold again. Even from here, Kaida could see a Dragon Breath fired off. Kjoll, making certain that the people on the island were protected from any debris or enemies. [break][break]

Kaida and her Pokemon climbed higher and higher, just in time to see sea levels rise and a legendary appearance. Kaida was no stranger to worship, nor a god, she had been revived before, after all. She held no reverence for a rampaging beast, though.[break][break]

Muspel steamed against the water hitting her scales, the Charizard still ready and willing to go. Clinging to a rock face, Bragi aimed and fired Overdrive at the right fin. "Kjoll, protect them! Muspel...let's go. Drop me and run if I'm killed." They had to protect them, the civilians climbing higher, the Pokemon. Those faces she still could remember. She wanted to do this. [break][break]

Muspel screamed forward, firing off Air Slashes. Back on the mountain, Kjoll used Stealth Rock, rocky shields and attacks against any remaining troops or incoming attacks. Still spinning like a cyclone, Silk joined the flight path of Muspel, firing off Rock Slide...they'd catch him when he transformed back, he trusted them. [break][break]

Kaida doesn't know what comes over her, a bark of cheery laughter briefly shaking her shoulders as she chokes out, "Its back!" Their strange friend was back to its senses! Pounding blood screams in her ears, the glee of something going so right dragging her to whip around to the rock monster. She'd destroy them, clearly, things were going right! [break][break]

"I'm going Orion!" She snarled, unsure where the energy was coming from, only sure that they were winning. If they destroyed that monster...she crouched low, teeth bared in a terrible smile as a glow emanated from her ankle. Where he slithered, Silk let out a hiss that almost sounded like a roar, erupting into a spinning sandstorm as he spun like a tornado. He didn't hesitate, as Kaida yelled out, "The monster!" He launched at the Stakataka, G-Max Sandblast aiming to tear the monster apart, grinding it to dust with sand. Wherever he ended up, he continued on, a living sandstorm of destruction.[break][break]

Aiming to protect herself and others, Kaida leapt upon Muspel and waved around herself, "Kjoll, protect us!" Stealth Rock twirled in the air, both a rocky defense and an attack. As Muspel leapt into the air, heading towards the monster and general, Bragi crackled with electric energy in Shift Gear, running like a madwoman after the Charizard. Through the town, to the general. Lightning crackled from Kaida's mount, Thunder Punch aiming to destroy anything that came near. [break][break]

She was going to kill him. She'd never been happier. She'd finally defend her home. [break][break]

All the Pokemon milling around, and Kaida couldn't find it in herself to do any more than thank the Audino that came to deliver water...she was sorry, but she couldn't remember their names right now.

So this was going to happen again then? Kaida very nearly felt her muscles tighten up and stop relaxing entirely, it was only a miracle that she brought Munin, a show of peace among her scars. The Krookodile crooned happily, an openly happy Pokemon that barely belonged in this ranch. "Nobody will take care of them." She answered, not entirely getting the rhetorical nature of the question, but understanding the point. She puffed out a long breath, "I'll try to be ok, I don't want to be tired when I'm needed." She forced a small curve of her lips, looking upon her own Pokemon and Thomas's with a spark of happiness. Just for a moment, to rest.

Kaida steps back, growling deep as the beast of Orion's nearly awakens, then falls back into the rage it had succumbed to. "Bragi! Come back!" She roared over the rising noise of the background, not liking the look of the glow coming from the beast. Some kind of attack? Coming to the same conclusion, Bragi teared up, silently begging with Tearful Look that the beast would show them mercy. They were working together just a second ago! [break][break]

She tossed down a Pokeball, Kjoll roaring to life. Having had time to rest in a Pokeball, the Onix immediately unleashed Protect. He was the wall that would protect all the small ones with him. "I got it!" She answered Orion regarding the pillars, pointing to the same pillar and hoping Muspel would be enough to toppel it. The Charizard roared up, flapping her wings to cut it apart with Air Slash. [break][break]

Behind them, Silk the Sandaconda took upon Muspel's protective role. His Dig was unleashed on troops. The serpent surging through the sands as he aimed to bite and tear at them, he could smell humans...he hoped they'd be ok while these aliens were dealing with him... [break][break]
