Kaida lurks beside Selena as their Pokemon take down the door, rushing in with her as the way becomes clear. It's very noisy. "So many treasures." She notes both the material and Pokemon, "You'd think they'd know to guard with actual bodies." Even a simple human would create a better defense. [break][break]

Kaida releases a Scyther, Dain, who blinks in bewilderment as he finds himself within a horrible scene. Orvar screeches and zooms over, clinging to his back as a sort of defense, both bugs not certain what to do without direct orders. "Guys, can you free everyone, they're our family." Kaida's voice is dangerously calm as she looks over the sheer volume of Pokemon, then turns to the material goods, growling as she rifles through the treasure. Surely, she would be better hands than these humans! [break][break]

Given direction, the two bug-types get to work, joined quickly by a furious serpent spitting acid at the containment and cages. Carefully aimed Slashes, Acid Sprays, and Air Slashes cut through the cages like paper, freeing Pokemon after Pokemon. [break][break]

"Heh, won't stop me from wishing I didn't." Kaida chuckled ruefully, was there a type of package for a human that didn't fail? Kaida didn't know, but such a package would likely be called "perfectionism package". How funny. [break][break]

Kaida frowned, well. That would cool down just fine. "A kid pool...that would have been easier." She mumbled, creating makeshift rivers out of the miserable infrastructure of the Outskirts was certainly creative, but not exactly easy. Her fork tapped her empty plate, rapping out a noise that nestled in her ears.

"The food was, well..." She waved over her plate with her fork, "It was great." Under the table, Ormr and Hema worked together to simply stuff their mouths...that food didn't stand a chance. If Kaida had her way, she would have had more, but in no way was she making somebody pay for that. "Thank you for bringing me, I don't usually eat with another like this."

Kaida did not delve any further than the words Alexander gave her. It was nowhere near her business to understand why someone would change their mind on harming their enemies. She could just imagine it wasn't a pleasant experience. [break][break]

"Of course." Kaida nodded at the priority given to her, "They can give valuable information, or work as hostages." Not likely what he meant, but at the very least, Kaida understood the merit of staying non-lethal at first. "I'm trying to be as helpful as I can." The words held weight, like a promise, "I won't be causing uneccessary trouble."

Njor seemed to like having another of his kind around, Kaida noted that he was finding any excuse to drift closer to the Sharpedo, almost like some adoring fan. It was, frankly, adorable. She didn't make any attempt to correct the fish, as long as he was aware that he was protecting the boat, he could do whatever he wanted. [break][break]

There was a slight problem, though. Distaste welled up within her, something barely hidden by her stoic face. It would have been enough if a disliker of a type of Pokemon was a civilian, but another Ranger. While this was her job, and she would complete it no matter what, she found little reason to interact much with the source of her distaste. [break][break]

Until she had to. Ormr's shifting form signaled to her that they were being approached. [break][break]

"They're prepared." She answered, eyes locked onto the waters, "Me and Njor are ready to go whenever." She spoke quickly, trailing off into silence the moment she finished. She wasn't one to stare at people regularly, but now she pointingly avoided any eye contact, tracking the movements of the Pokemon instead. She'd be relying on them.

The Delphox's flames burnt up the possible traps without actually tripping them, rendering it safe enough. Kaida only hoped there were few or no traps past this point, she didn't think that pirates would expect most of anyone to get past this point. "Thank you, Selena...Orvar, do you think you're ready?" [break][break]

In response to Kaida's words, the twitchy Yanmega darted back and forth, some Ancientpower still clinging near her protectively. The traps were truly gone, her movements confirmed. Safety confirmed, Kaida drew forwards, trying to figure out how to climb on a Yanmega...who promptly solved the problem by wrapping her legs around Kaida and carrying her. "I'm ready...let's go." Besides her dignity not being retained, she and Orvar made the flight over, miraculously getting to the other side. Orvar's flight was twitchy and blurred, the Yanmega clearly excited, hopefully she'd get to shine against the pirates.

"So my entrance into this was Littleroot." She intoned like it was both important yet simple to understand. They were both in something important, and would be dragged into every other important thing from now on. Still didn't make her happy being swarmed by all the news people. [break][break]

Speaking of said news people, they seemed to have lost their scent, she noted as she peered around a corner. Thank goodness. On her shoulders, Ormr sighed and drooped, no longer needing to be on edge. "I hope you'll trust me from now on, because I won't be leaving these things alone." She already knew Lars was an ally of hers, it would be nice to know she was trusted by Orion before she screamed away where the annoying questions couldn't reach her.

Exploring like the curious thing she was, Nid could only spot some delightfully tap dancing creature practicing its moves. No dragons though, nowhere she could see or sense...and then something pinched her feathery wings as she passed a fall. The Dragonair squeaked, bursting back through the falls in a sparkling display as she attempted to free herself. [break][break]

Naturally, her Pokemon's cry didn't go unnoticed, noe did the dramatic display of sparks. Ormr leapt off his perch, slithering at startling speeds towards where Nid had cried out. Rushing behind him, Kaida arrived at the scene, snarling, "What the-Nid!" Her bark rang out over falls, furious and confused. At her side, Ormr puffed up in a Stockpile, looking as threatening as possible to the little bird that tugged on his family member's wing!

"Nid, do you smell anything nearby? Or sense?" Kaida enjoyed the din of the waterfall, it drowned out anything unpleasant. Even the forest didn't have that sort of tranquility. She supposed the noise of a city might drown out anything else, but while that was true, she didn't enjoy the smells. Ocean and muck didn't exactly meld well. Up in the air, Nid chirped disappointingly before swirling behind a wall of falling water. She'd be fine. [break][break]

She had found her reptillian compatriots tended to include some dragons, Nid the Dragonair being her longest standing member of her family, but she had quickly acquired four more...all things considered, they were strong, tended to fly, and blended well with the rest of her family. So, with the task of finding more of her soon-to-be family, here she was. [break][break]

On her neck, Ormr raised his head and let out a low hiss. Somebody was near?

The unfortunate thing about having a Carvanha, a Pokemon making its home within the ocean, was that she couldn't just let him wander. She didn't live close enough to the ocean to let him free there and, even thoughb he could live in rivers, she didn't dare leave him free in the first place. One misplaced fisherman, and her Njor would be lunch. She'd need a personal aquarium or land to let him free, and she had neither. [break][break]

Thus, Njor and her had to take what they could get. Today was his turn to swim in the river and eat what he wanted. [break][break]

She sat at the bank, feet in the water but eyes locked on her vulnerable charge. Njor cringed away from anything that so much as looked any bigger than him, but swarmed anything that couldn't fight back. He was hungry, but too cowardly to even try and risk anything for a bite to eat. She noticed he was braver around companions of his, Corpus the Huntail and Din the Gorebyss respectfully, but she couldn't disturb the river by letting them feed in the same place. [break][break]

The blue blur she was watching suddenly jerked towards her, prompting her to pull her feet back in case the fish tried to rub against her. A large Croconaw was coming down the river, and he wanted to be safe, now. With a sigh, Kaida returned the Carvanha, already returning to the rest of her family. Everyone lived pretty well, except for the underwater denizens. [break][break]

She needed to do better, for them.

Booby traps were mostly unknown to Kaida, and thus caused her to possess even more caution than she usually would. She had stayed frozen, feet rooted the moment she left the ladder, and had the fortune of not tripping any traps. [break][break]

So they only had one deadly trap to deal with right now. [break][break]

"Orvar!" She yelled as she abruptly changed Pokeballs and tossed out a Yanmega, which darted forward in front of the two humans. The bug had no experience with traps, guns, and the like, but knew well enough that she was released to defend. Ancientpower swirled briefly, then formed a shield in front of the group. Lacking Protect, Kaida thought she was the most reliable. [break][break]

Bullets slammed into the rocky wall, raising up a terrifying racket, but unable to pierce through as the Yanmega added more of the rocky protection. Abruptly, the bullets stopped, the mechanism likely assuming most humans would be dead by now. [break][break]

"Selena." She was still petrified in place, "I think we should fly over here." She didn't raise up the idea that the bullets were heard being fired, all they had to do was get moving.

Garmr was sending up a loud barking as Kaida followed, her Ekans creating the familiar sight of the serpent raising Ranger. The Snubble would be necessary for this particular task, however, so she hoped the civilians wouldn't mind the little pup. [break][break]

Garmr stopped. There was somebody already there! [break][break]

Familiar with interacting with other humans, Kaida let the Snubble stay a "safe" distance away as she approached, squinting into the water. "I don't think you'll have much luck." She raised her voice, noting that the waters were near perfectly calm. Strange. "Problems today, you see. I'm here to find out why."
