Kaida let out a breath as the defenses finally showed up, she had been waiting for sokme kind of pin to drop and, now that it was here, she could deal with it. "Watch out!" She called out, returning Dain and replacing his presence with an ace in the hole. Fafnir, the Salamance needed no order. She knew what she was supposed to do. Fight. [break][break]

While Orvar hung back, delivering Air Slashes to keep their attackers at bay, Fafnir surged forward like a colossal wave and slammed into a group with Double-edge, barreling through them like a battering ram. "Ormr!" She barked, prompting the serpent to rise up and fix others in place with Glare. [break][break]

She'd tear through everything here if it meant they'd succeed, no matter what.

Njor was a difficult to predict Pokemon at the best of times, and he wasn't exactly helping today. The little Carvanha both wanted to keep up with the Sharpedo, but also wanted to stay behind, in fear of danger. This translated as a stop-and-go that jerked Kaida at every movement, but he stayed near the sub, so the protection seemed to be going well. [break][break]

Until the attack began. [break][break]

Njor snapped his jaws and zig zagged in a panic. She tapped at the harness roughly, trying to bring the Pokemon back into reality. She understood well enough that when an attack happened, two were not needed to defend against one enemy. So even if the confusing hand signals didn't help her understand that well, she still pushed Njor to keep swimming with the sub. And not too late. The fish clicked his teeth as another dark shape flowed past the sub, another tap on his harness followed by a point telling him to strike whenever. Snarl roared out, pulsing across the dark waters...and their target vanished, hit but gone. [break][break]

They stayed near the sub, awaiting the shape to strike again. Until their partner reappeared, Njor would just have to keep driving off attacks.

As expected, the two Pokemon made a great defense. Expecting either a counter or protection, Kaida let out a breath as they revealed they had shielded themselves, better that a blown back strike. [break][break]

Kjoll and Muspel tensed as the Pokemon made for them, Muspel spreading her wings, only to squawk in confusion as the two switched targets in an instant. Luckily, Kjoll wasn't one to hesitate on defense, conjuring a Protect to push back the attacks. As if offended at their lack of attention to her, Muspel flapped into the air and, roaring like an animal, plunged towards the armored dragon in a Dragon Rush. [break][break]

"I see they are very defensive. Good at working together too." She wasn't sure if there was something in particular she should say, so she just noted everything she saw, "They also went after the Pokemon that they had the best chance of beating. Good warriors." She didn't bother telling her Pokemon to stop, this was training and, until told otherwise, she'd assume it was continuing.

"I'm glad for that, I trust you too, you know." On her back, the eerie smile of Ormr's mirrored her own, just two beast's full of trust. Everything she had said was truthful, she intended to involve herself more, and her trust went out to all her allies. [break][break]

Unfortunately, they were likely to be caught up by the news people, and she doubted they could pull a fast one like they just did. Plus, she had things to do. So, with a polite bow and wave, she sent out Muspel, instructing her to fly as fast as she could outside the city. The job of a Ranger was never done, after all.

With her strength, Freki didn't imagine Kaida would make her build it up...and then expect her to guard a garden. [break][break]

Still, it was important work, she knew that, she really did. They had been welcoming Pokemon that didn't hunt like the likes of them, and they needed to eat as well. She also knew that it was their healing supply. Oran Berries, Pecha Berries, they were all very important and could even spare a trip to the Pokemon Center. It didn't exactly make her feel better to be sitting here, full of belly, safe at home while everybody else did the work. [break][break]

A Spearow got a little too close, and she swiped her tail at it, puffing out her chest as it flew away. Any work was honest work, she just had to keep telling herself that. Keep telling her that...

Kaida narrowed her eyes at the two targets they were given. A dragon and grass-type, if she was remembering properly. Expecting some kind of counter or trick, Kaida tossed out another Pokeball, revealing a Charizard that rumbled in awe as it looked around the near sterile room. "Both of you, stay close. Keep them still!" Kjoll was no good in close combat, espicially against type advantages, their hope was to stay away. [break][break]

A sound from Kaida's throat seemed to signal their attack. Kjoll reared up and, aiming for the dragon, unleashed a paralyzing Dragon Breath for it. The Charizard, Muspel, shrieked in glee as she twirled, her tail sending a spinning flame that aimed to consume the hulking grass-type in a Fire Spin. Both moves were known for their possibility of slowing or stopping their opponents and, even without a specific order, both Kaida and her Pokemon knew this, it seemed.

She wanted to snap and spit, only kept at bay by the sheer amount of swirling anxiety in her chest, she couldn't snap, not in front of everyone. Thankfully, she was given sufficient distraction to turn away, take a deep breath, and focus. The Marowak was her only concern right now, she had to do good by it, to keep this incident from happening again. Firstly, no trainer. [break][break]

"Then that makes it easier, I can treat it like a wild Pokemon." No problems about taking it away from its trainer, and no deeply seated training that would make any management difficult. "I'm not going to...er...shoo it anywhere, but I'm not just letting it go." She took a step close to the Marowak, her words binding and stern, "Rehabilitation is a task Rangers do, so I will be taking it with me, it can rejoin its friends after we make sure it won't do it again." There was no permanent damage done, and the Marowak hadn't actually harmed anybody, chasing it out of the city would simply separate it from its friends for no reason. [break][break]

Looking mighty embarrassed, the Marowak still obediently stuck near, ready to follow Kaida to this dreaded "Rehabilitation". "Is there any complaints, no?" Kaida piped up briefly, already turning to leave with her charge in tow. All in all, trouble that didn't cause any harm was a good day in her book.

"Relaxing, I do that sometimes." Kaida piped up like relaxing a month ago was in any way satisfying how much you should relax. It seemed she simply didn't understand much that such relaxing was not a monthly optional thing, but something you should do to at least try and be healthy. [break][break]

Luckily, an opportunity for that was offered! [break][break]

"A boat ride?" She did need to give Din a reward after all that work. He needed a swim in the ocean, it seemed to be good against any stress that built up in the young Gorebyss. So, with that in mind, she answered easily, "I'd actually like that." She could only hope this wasn't the day trouble found her on the ocean again.

The noise all around Kaida was starting to kick off an instinctive panic. A blur of blue spiraled away from the Rookidee, dashing towards Kaida like a lost child. There was still the matter of the shrieking bird, and the sparking whatever-that-was up there. At least the man did not make himself hidden, his loud voice leading her straight to him, her Dragonair hiding behind her back. "Sir! Make those Pokemon quiet! You are scaring everything!" All sorts of Pokemon were fleeing the scene, even if it increased their chances of finding a dragon, Kaida was not scaring off the entire ecosystem to do it!

Preparing for the dive was easy enough, she had done it enough times that the procedures were easy enough to remember. It was convincing Ormr to sit out of a dangerous mission like this (relying on Njor, of all Pokemon) that was the hard part. The serpent hissed and wrapped around her until she had to resort to returning him without any fanfare, next mission he could participate, just not underwater. [break][break]

She arrived with the almost comically smaller Njor, equipped with a mini harness so that she might not cut herself while hanging onto him for his Dive. She ran her hand over the other Pokeballs she had brought, silently considering how to drive off any pirates if they attempted to strike. Preparations complete, she gave a thumbs up, guiding Njor to flank one side of their precious cargo.

Kaida...hadn't actually heard an insult towards fire-types before, nothing that wasnt vaguely helpful to remember, like their general ability to cause forest fires. The words, however, sounded too similar to what she had heard directed at her own partner, the poisonous Ekans who she heard countless "observations" of how "evil" and "frightening" they were. Thus, when she heard Freya and Loki both squawk at the words, she couldn't hold her tongue. "And I suppose it's impossible to train a playing Pokemon to keep such play from interrupting the public." Like an afterthought, her jaws slammed shut at the words, hardly believing she had snapped back like that. What am I doing!? [break][break]

She didn't consider herself an expert in negotiations, so she backed off as the two Pokemon made their apologies, waiting until it was over before stepping forward, waving Freya and Loki behind her. "You'll have to try again next time." Unfortunately, it was a little much to ask this particular Marowak to participate in the dance today, she couldn't even be sure if the dance could even be allowed in its entirety. Still, she wasn't going to be the one to deny the Pokemon to ever participate, "Where's your trainer? I need to make sure you'll be fine next time you do this." Rehabilitation wasn't something Kaida usually participated in, but she would think the Rangers could help in anger management. [break][break]

"Thank you for your help, they could have been hurt if yours didn't help out." Kaida directed at Kazimir, still with little idea who he was but glad to have help.
